Naia is so very beautiful, just completely stunning. We stayed in a beachfront studio for our first wedding anniversary and it was perfect. The house has a comfie king bed with soft pillows and blankets, a kitchenette equipped with all sorts of plates, utensils, drink ware, and a coffee grinder for the fresh beans they leave for you. The storage is nice, with two closets and a safe and the bathroom is modern. There’s a beautiful, large, dreamy outdoor shower with Naia soaps, shampoo and conditioner, all smelling wonderfully fragrant…and wrapping yourself in their robe is luxury. In front, there’s a porch with chairs and a table overlooking the ocean and two beach chairs available beachfront for your use. I loved just sitting on the porch, coffee in hand, watching hummingbirds fly by and pelicans dive-bombing fish - a peaceful dream come true.
The pool is a teeny bit small. We were there off-season so didn’t have a problem but I could imagine during high season the chairs around the pool would go quickly. But the saltwater pool is a perfect temp and off-season, it was all ours most days.
We had an all-inclusive plan with breakfast and lunch. We had plans to eat in Placencia during the evening so we didn’t want to commit to dinner. That said, the hours for breakfast and lunch make it easy to skip dinner too - and we did do that one evening after having lunch at 4:30 pm. The food is delicious with a combination of flavorful Belizean flavors, perfect portions and obviously a skilled chef. The price for alcohol is very reasonable and in Belizean dollars. A Belikin beer was around $6 American. You are spoiled for choice both in food and cocktails. We ate at the 1981 on our last night and the meal, ambiance and service was fantastic.
Speaking of service, the overall service was wonderful and felt personal, with friendly and attentive waiters, front desk personnel and housekeepers. All remembered our names and the waiters remembered our favorites.
Seriously a dream come true resort all-around. We will be back - and I have promised myself my whole adult life to never return to a location - but will make a rare exception for Naia!

Perfect romantic vacation. My husband and I spent eight blissful days at Naia Resort and Spa. The quality of their services was outstanding. The reservation desk booked our round trip Maya Airlines commuter plane flights from Belize City, picking us up at the Placencia airport and ensuring all the details. The resorts is immaculate and beautifully designed. We stayed in a beachfront studio house and loved the floor plan, amenities and the decor. We had a large porch just steps away from the ocean. Staff will bring out a hammock and lounge chairs placed perfectly overlooking the most gorgeous ocean view. The resort has two excellent restaurants both serving fresh and creative dishes. The food was fantastic with excellent service. Resort guests have access to complimentary paddle boards, kayaks, bicycles and snorkeling gear. The property is stunning, the people are wonderful and we had one of the most incredible weeks at this resort. Very special place and highly recommend.

My wife and I stayed here in early January at one of the beachfront studio houses. We found the property to be stunning, the building to be exquisitely decorated, the location to be beautiful, and the outdoor shower to be very refreshing and unique. We had a great time going to other tours nearby and thought that Placencia itself was a very quaint, safe, and fun town. Overall, we thought this was one of the nicest places to stay in Placencia.
However, compared to other tourist destinations in Central America and other resorts in its same star class, we were a little disappointed by the service. A few examples: 1) the resort did not have hand soap in our bathroom, 2) it seemed that the resort did not provide the standard two water bottles per room per day (a small expense that goes a long way), leaving us thirsty on a few occasions when we got back to our room 3) when we initially arrived at the resort, the concierge told us that we would have the option of private beach chairs and a hammock right on the beach, but after further inquiries and confusion among other guests, we later learned that this was not the case and that they were first come first serve. Though outside of the control of the resort, we also experienced sea lice in the water, which explained why we didn't see very many people in the beach here. We also did not receive any information on if the water was safe to use for brushing our teeth, which other 4 star resorts typically mention when you first arrive.
We also thought the service at the continental breakfast area was slightly above average and the cleaning staff did a good job of cleaning the room. The food at the restaurant on the property was very good and had great decor, but average service.

Response from Melonie Flores, Guest Services / Front Office at Naia Resort And Spa

Dear Staytravelling; Thank you very much for your positive review. Permit me to clear up a few of the areas that made your stay slightly less than perfect. 1) Providing separate bars of hand soap is something that we did in the early days of the resort. What we found, however, is that in most cases guests would use the small bar once or twice and abandon it, resulting in excessive non-recyclable waste. This is the same reason we abandoned the practice of using small personal-size plastic shampoo and lotion containers, opting instead for the large permanent bottles of custom fragrance Naia-branded shower gel (which functions as hand soap), shampoo and body lotion which produces far less plastic waste. 2) The standard two bottles of purified water is one of the main reasons that our rivers, oceans and roadsides are becoming overrun with damaging plastic waste. You may have overlooked the card in every guest room at Naia that explains how the Placencia area is naturally blessed with some of the purist water on earth. It comes from an aquifer lying deep below the foothills of the Maya Mountains and is tested daily by Belize’s national water company for purity. One of the most frequent comments we receive from guests is how great the water tastes and also—since it is naturally soft—how nice your hair feels after a shampoo. 3) As for the beach chairs and hammocks, point taken. We had previously retired an older quantity of chairs and hammocks and did not receive our new shipment in time for your arrival. Sincere apologies, but we are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us.

We really loved Naia. Excellent food and accommodations. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We got a package deal that included all meals/drinks and snorkeling. Really worth it. On the day of my wife's birthday they did this whole thing for her at the restaurant that was very special. The package also included flight from Belize City to Placencia airport and then transport to and from the Placencia airport. Our package also included a Monkey River trip that was cancelled due to weather. They promptly gave us a credit even though we knew that trip was weather-dependent. Nice touch!
The grounds were amazing. We stayed in a cottage on the beach with an ocean view. The cottage was very comfortable with outdoor showers, bathtub, kingsize bed, etc. Amazing view. The grounds were really well maintained as well. Can't say enough nice things.

I have mixed feelings about writing this review, because I am honestly torn between wanting to tell the whole world about this place and wanting to keep it a secret to myself. The Naia resort is truly nothing short of spectacular!
Due to a change in my arrival dates the first night I stayed in a Studio Beach House and then moved to a one bdrm with plunge pool for the remainder of my stay. You really can’t go wrong with either of these as they were both absolutely gorgeous. The resort itself opened around 2016. The furnishings throughout are contemporary and the entire property is immaculately maintained.
When planning my trip to Belize I really didn’t know anything about the different islands or peninsulas and chose this resort based on the overall value as compared to other luxury resorts that came up in my search around the same price point. This area of Placencia turned out to be just perfect for what I was looking for which was a very laid-back and chill vibe vs the San Pedro area, which I heard is also beautiful but is a bit more bustling with tourist traffic.
I had a the opportunity to visit the Naia spa, which was also a unique and wonderful experience. There is a nice, well-equipped gym on the property as well. The resort staff does a fantastic job of keeping the seaweed at bay and it was definitely not a big problem as I’d read about in reviews of some other properties.
The entire resort staff was as friendly as they come, and it was abundantly clear that my enjoyment during my stay, was their top priority.
While I’d like to visit other areas of Belize, I know for certain that this will always be at the top of my list as my favorite resort.

We just returned from our honeymoon at Naia Resort and I'm inclined to BRAG! This property is beautiful. The whole week of our trip was perfect thanks to the incredible customer service and staff at Naia. We were picked up on time, by a complimentary Naia shuttle at the airport, given hot towels to clean hands, and whisked away to the resort: luggage put in rooms, welcome drink shared, bug spray sprayed, and that was the first hour. The whole trip was similar: Naia anticipated every need. The ensuite kitchen and plunge pool on our casita were great for alone time - would also be great for kids - and I can't say enough about the amenitites. 1981 restaurant is fantastic for dinner with local ingredients, the complimentary water sports and instruction allowed us to paddle board and kayak, the gym has a beautiful lagoon view, and the spa was TO DIE FOR. I can't wait to go back for our anniversary (every year if we can swing it!!) They just won a hospitality award for all of Belize, and I see why. Visit Naia!

We were treated to friendly, competent staff throughout our stay at this paradise-like resort. Our studio was 50 steps from the ocean, and we opened our eyes to palm trees and lapping waves each morning. The tours they offered were varied, from snorkeling to jungle hikes, trips to spice farms to catamaran day trips. Rooms and grounds were meticulously clean, and we felt were never crowded, whether it was at dinner, on the beach or at the pool. The spa was magically situated in a lagoon with individual therapy huts. Food was fresh and well prepared, and the chef personally attended to people in our party with special dietary needs. We've already booked for next year!

I don’t think I can say enough about the staff, the resort, and the accommodations. We did everything we wanted, we were treated like we were the only guests there. It really felt that way, first time ever for me experiencing that feeling. For instance we went fishing. Since international travel no way to bring fish back. We gave most to the staff but the chef cooked two fish for us and came out and told us what it was and how she did it. Completely awesome. Our room was made spotless each day and drivers were flexible taking us from place to place on schedule every time. Pool, spa and even the beach was cleaned and raked every day. The town of Placencia is a cool place and safe to walk at night and enjoy everything they have to offer.

I love this resort. Stayed in a beachfront cottage and it was exactly what we were looking for, literally on the beach. A beautiful view of the sand, palm trees and ocean right from bed (and of the sunrise too). Beautifully designed, and with thoughtful lighting that enhances the rooms. The off-season maintenance is obviously meticulous because the resort opened in 2016 but there is no sign of wear & tear or weathering, everything is clean and freshly painted and looks like new. A great amenity for me is a full size (12 cup) coffee pot and they provide fresh coffee beans and a grinder. The porch has a table and 2 chairs and you can request the pool manager to bring a couple of (heavy) chaise lounge chairs & cushions for the beach in front (if they are not already there). Hammocks are also scattered around. This is a small resort so it never feels crowded and it's not a family resort (though a couple of guests did have children). The landscaping is absolutely incredible and so wonderfully maintained. There are excursions you can sign up for but many were all day outings and, after a long travel day to get there, I didn't want to ride to get to destinations. This was a 'toes-in-the sand' vacation but we did sign up for an amazing spa package (a body scrub session back to back with a full body massage) in the beautiful facility tucked away down a little jungle path. We had a couple of good days for swimming in the ocean but there were a couple of days it was too murky with seagrass but, no problem, we just went to the pool. We had beautiful breezes every day so did not have any issues with insects which I had read could be bothersome (I did bring Picaridin repellent though on the recommendation of online commenters). They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and all the meals we had were very good. A continental breakfast consisting of some fruit, muffins, toast and beverage is included and they give you a credit toward the meal if you order a bigger breakfast. The entire staff were phenomenal and helpful. I made the airfare reservations to Belize City and Naia booked the commuter connection flight to Placencia. I highly recommend Naia.

I can't get over how gorgeous and peaceful this hotel is… The grounds are very well kept, they only have two restaurants, which one is an outdoor and the other one is on the second floor with an AC, but pretty much the same menu on both. The food was good. I can’t say thank you enough to the most happy, wonderful, humble and friendly staff. They really make you very comfortable and are very helpful.
Their outdoor shower was my favorite!!!
They have complimentary bikes at the hotel if you wanna explore the surroundings, they also havecomplementary kayaks, and paddle boarding.. If you want to go into town, there are shuttles available I think every 15 to 30 minutes. Their shuttle is also available to pick you up at the airport.
We went to celebrate my birthday in Placencia,Belize, and I have to say we had the best experience overall. The rooms at this hotel are beautiful and clean, they really pay attention to every detail. Their body wash smells so good that I couldn’t resist to buy some to bring home and remember such a fantastic experience.!!!
To all the staff at this hotel, THANK YOU, THANK YOU and THANK YOU for making my birthday and our stayed such a memorable one. !!
I definitely recommend this place 100% if you are looking for a tranquil place where you can relax and feel very special.

Hi Digbert, sargassum is affecting most of the central american and caribbean coastline these days however, as mentioned by another user, our team works really hard to keep it at bay so that it does not affect our guests experience. For the most part, we keep it under control, however on rare occasions when there is just an enormous amount of it for an extended period of time, we fall behind but we remain diligent in our efforts to eliminate it. Of note, this phenomenon is seasonal.
Hi Aec0413,
Thanks for your question about our beach and water, the answer is it depends on the day. For the most part, the waters are clear and calm unless the day is really windy and choppy . On those days, the water will be a little murky because of the sand. Where snorkeling is concerned, while you can certainly snorkel, we don't recommend that you snorkel off the beach if you are looking for coral and marine life.
With kind regards,
Pamela
morning and thank you for your question. Yes, our rooms do have wifi as was also indicated by some of our previous guests.

Our current meeting room does not have the space for 80 but our board just approved (over this weekend) the construction of a larger meeting room which will certainly be able to host 80. Please do send me a note pgideon at naiaresortandspa and I can share more specific information with you.
