The cabins are simple and clean and it was so easy having your meals made for you each day. Good food and large portions. The trucks are loud during the day but it was quiet at night so we slept well. Village life can be a bit loud sometimes. Highly recommend taking the morning bird walk our guide pointed out... More

We spent three nights in Tutzil Nah Cottages together with our daughters aged 7 and 10. We stayed in the rather rustic dorm room as the beautiful more upscale cottages just sleep two. Tutzil Nah is in the middle of the Maya village "Maya Centre". We had delicious authentic mayan food at their small restaurant. During our stay the owner... More

My wife, adult son and I stayed in the Tutzil Nah cottages for one night. We had pre booked prior to leaving for Belize, and travelled by James Bus services. We were very interested in both the experience of staying in a Mayan village as well as the nature walks. Neither disappointed. Whilst the accommodation was basic, it was very... More

We had a great 2 night stay at the cottages! The room was clean, roomy and simply furnished with a spacious bathroom. We enjoyed watching the Village from the front porch area in the day and, after dark, the listening to the peace and quiet of the night. All our meals were plentiful and delicious. Both the night and day... More

First of all, let me say I completely agree with Kaixen's review below. We had a little more luck during the night walk as we saw a kinkajoo, but we had mixed feelings. Sure the people are really nice, and the home cooked food was delicious, but we just kept on wondering why this stay was so expensive. We stayed... More

My friends and I stayed at Tutzil Nah while visiting the Jaguar Preserve. We were not expecting luxury, just the basics, but we were also not expecting squalor. The rooms were ok to sleep in,, but the bathroom floor and walls were rough concrete, with a toilet I was a little afraid to sit on, and a bed with a... More

We had a great time with Gregorio, seeing the jungle he grew up in, and hearing about his life. Gregorio picked us up in nearby Plancenica, drove us to his home, and we had a DELICIOUS dinner cooked by his wife. Gregorio then took us on a night time jungle hike, which was a wonderful experience to listen for the... More

Tutzil Nah Cottages is a really nice family-run guesthouse with affordable rates. The rooms are VERY basic, but Gregorio and his family are lovely. However, we stayed here primarily to do tours of Cockscomb Wildlife Sanctuary, and I think there are better ways to experience the jungle. We took the night jungle walk tour and the day jaguar preserve tour.... More

We stayed in one of the cottages for a few days and did a guided walk with Gregerio and a night walk with his brother Julian. Astoundingly, both appear a few times in Alan Rabinowitz' book about his work with jaguars in the Cockscomb basin - and now, several decades later, they were our guides! The cottages are simple but... More

Gregorio and his wife were so nice to us. We did the package. Gregorio was waiting for us when our flight flew in. He gave us a very interesting tour of the Mayan village. My husband and I then wandered around on our own. The people were so friendly. We did the night hike in the jungle which was amazing.... More
