Went for dinner but arrived early to sit on the dock and watch the sunset with a house made hibiscus wine. (Divine wine!!, I bought a bottle to take home!!) Bill and Jenny are great hosts, they have been in Belize for quite some time and have lots of stories to tell of local lore. The food was fantastic!! I had blackened fish, with veggies, we were lucky to be there on a night that the desert special was Bills famous German chocolate cake. Best I've ever had!!! I'll be back for sure.
Watching the sunset from the dock at Cerros Beach Resort can be magical. Having taken the trip over to the resort on many occasions to enjoy the ambiance and the facilities, I can wholeheartedly express my true feelings about the resort. Sunsets at the end of the bay can be spectacular more often than not in the dry season. A nice cold beer, stout or fine Hibiscus wine can be served to you on the dock. With the northeast Trade winds blowing and a sky filled with white puffy clouds, the Sun sets with a spectacular display of color reflecting off the clouds so that the entire sky becomes illuminated in a surrealistic manner. Once the sun is down it is time for more drinks or directly on for dinner in the rustic bar and restaurant. Bill and Jenny, your Chef and Hostess make your evening informative and interesting as they regale you with accounts of their Belizean extensive experiences over 15 years here in Belize (they are from the U.S.). My night time trip along the road through the jungle can be an exciting end to the day, I have seen 3 Jaguars in my headlights!…
Comfortable rustic cabanas to stay in with good food, drink and conversation to be had. Our stay at Cerros Beach Resort was for an unwind after several weeks on the road through Mexico and Belize. As we were backpacking we weren’t sure how we were going to get there but after contacting Jen and Bill they sorted that for us. So glad they did as they have a little bit of paradise there where you can do as much or little as you like. The nearby Cerro Maya ruins was a great little site to easily walk to and spend some time exploring. Thanks again to Jen and Bill for sharing their bit of paradise and of course the dogs as well.
We had an amazing, relaxing, beautiful 3 days at Cerros Beach Resort. Hosts Bill and Jenny are gracious and easygoing, and they helped provide transportation to and from Corozal town, which was necessary for us as we were backpacking. They have created a sweet off-the-grid getaway with outstanding food and drink, the kind of place that independent travelers dream of finding. If you make it here, try the delicious ceviche and Bill's homebrewed beer or homemade wine. All our meals were excellent and reasonably priced. Make sure to stay a few days. Bike or kayak in the morning, spotting wildlife like hawks and crocodiles at the lagoon. Definitely hike to Cerros Maya, a remote gem of an archeological site, on a jungle trail that Bill created. Bring a good book for those long afternoons. Swim in Corozal Bay to cool off. Understand that this place is rustic-- if you're fine with that, it might be one of the best places on earth to visit and stay. Absolutely beautiful.…
Absolutely loved this place and the owners. Don't expect to be over ran with tourist and activities here. Plan to come and relax and unwind. Already planning my next trip. The people of Northern Belize seemed genuine and friendly. They also do a great job with their food and wine!
