I stayed at Holkol Kin for 2 weeks; the rooms was spacious, clean and with ocean views. The best part of my stay would definitely be the customer service and food! The staff were super accommodating, friendly and always attentive.
My colleagues and I stayed here for almost 2 weeks. The staff is warm and friendly. They accommodated a special request for a party to thank our hosts and Belizean colleagues, and were very generous with helping our arrangements. The rooms were spacious, clean, and air conditioned (extra fee if used), though being right on the waterfront the breezes from the lanai were often all that was needed. I enjoyed unwinding in our hammock at the beginning and end of each day. Convenient location in central Corozol Town. I look forward to my next stay here!
Through the eight years we have stayed in almost all of the rooms - clean, safe, some with A/C and some only with fans, all with spectacular views. Staff is very friendly and accommodating (coffee ready at 5:00AM). Very good full breakfast every morning at our schedule - sometimes early when we fly to San Pedro - or have to leave early to work before it is too hot. Close to downtown and pier - easy walking distance. I would highly recommend it.
OK, good things first-- the staff at this hotel are very friendly, the AC in our room worked, and breakfast at the hotel's restaurant might just be the best breakfast we had in Belize. The main problem was our experience with Room 5. It had three beds. Both of the double beds were caved in... to the point where you could feel the springs in your ribs, to the point where two regular-sized humans in one bed will inevitably be compelled toward each other in the sagging center of the sagging mattress. Oh yes-- the mattresses were so bad that someone had actually STACKED OLD, BUSTED MATTRESSES ON TOP OF EACH OTHER to make them *appear* as if it was one non-busted mattress! Sorry about the ALL CAPS back there. I only emphasize this detail about stacked, busted mattresses because it clearly indicates that someone realized there was a problem with the mattresses, and decided to address this problem by comically covering it up. Needless to say, we didn't sleep well. Another small detail: the toilet didn't flush, so if we didn't want to face our own feces staring back up at us (we didn't), we had to go downstairs and use the restroom in the lobby. OK, fine, none of this is the end of the world. But the overall impression we got was that Room 5 (the only room still available when we arrived, and the room located in a dark, narrow hallway on the non-ocean side of the hotel) is probably where they keep their busted mattresses and less-than-updated plumbing. And if you're wondering, they still charge top rate for Room 5. I can't speak to the quality of the other rooms, because we didn't see them-- they were all occupied with other guests. Which leads to a question-- if the owners are regularly filling up this hotel, can't they afford decent mattresses and working plumbing for all their guests?…
Stayed several times during my 14 day trip to Belize. Popped in for a 3 days, explored the area, left to go to other areas for a night or two, then returned. The staff are all very personable and friendly. Breakfast and other meals are all very good and reasonably price. Rooms are fairly standard with 2 double beds, private 3 pace bathroom (shower no tub) and balconies. Very comfortable and safe. The staff are very welcoming. A special thanks to Kieran (SP?) for his friendly personality and exceptional service.
