My parents and I were driving through Belize and stayed here for four nights. The owner has decided to long-term rent many of the cabanas, but she had one available for us. It was right on the river and incredibly beautiful! We contacted her personally, not through trip advisor or any other site. She is unreliable through the websites because she may have rented out the cabanas to show-up travelers. The property is truly amazing and the river is a wonderful swim. There is a common area with a hammock, fridge and kitchen. The wifi works great. Be prepared for a 'no judgement' attitude (ie. Drinking or drugs) in the common areas. The owners were very helpful with local information and what to see or do around town. I definitely recommend this place.

Booked one night at this hotel through Agoda.com with confirmation. At arrival, the place was abandoned by the owner and stod there middle of no where (its located outside San Ignacio). Can not recommend this hotel to anyone, as they haven't given the hotel booking sites the information that they have sit down the place.

Michael and Michael!!! I was speaking with Christina just a minute ago while listening to Sue George, reminiscing about our 3 days we spent with y'all this exact time last year. Well turns out we both thought the other would write your review and just now figured out neither of us did it!! WE ARE SO SORRY!!! Hands down the best stay of our entire tour through Central America!! You two were the most gracious host we could have ever wanted. We hadn't felt that much love and had such lovely conversations deep into the night, every night we were there! If you go to Belize and don't make it here then you have missed it all. Y'all had just recently purchased the property and we working so hard to revamp that beautiful land. Walk through gardens with every flower, tree, and bush labeled from maximum clarity. My favorite part was waking up before sunrise and sitting on the deck over the beautiful river, watching otters play underneath my feet. The most beautiful/magical place we lucky enough to find on our long journey. I hope y'all are doing well! CANT WAIT TO COME BACK AND STAY MUCH LONGER THIS TIME!!! We love you two beautiful people so very much. Thank you for the hospitality and the delicious rum that I couldn't get enough of. And again so so sooo sorry for the late response!!! Stay beautiful!!!

We spent 4 beautiful nights in a cabana with a terrace overlooking the river. The cabanas are set in a natural kept garden with hummingbirds and agutis making several appearances. The friendly staff prepared delicious local food and was overly helpful with organising tours and onward travels. Very relaxing atmosphere.

We stayed at RawSpa the end of May 2017. We had an incredible experience. The cabanas are clean, simple but with an beautiful view on the river next to RawSpa. The owners Michael and Misael are people you want to come back for. From picking us up in San Ignacio to advising what to do in the surrounding area, they are a great asset to the 'rawspa vibe', and are very helpful towards their customers. But above that, they told us their story of how they ended up in Raw Spa... Thanks Michael en Misael for sharing this, we will never forget this stay! Big love from Holland x

My boyfriend and I stayed at RawSpa for 4 nights because a local friend of ours recommended it and it was the best decision we made! Originally we had booked for 3 nights but we were so enamored the moment we stepped foot on the property that we asked to stay one more night (we were fortunate that it was available!). Misael and Michael attended to all our needs graciously and thoughtfully and they prepare a delectable and filling breakfast. They helped us arrange transportation on multiple occasions and have great recommendations for things to do and places to eat for lunch and dinner (they have a restaurant/bar that's open Thursday through Saturday for dinner). RawSpa is affordable, charming and serene. I highly recommend it for couples who want to unwind, enjoy the sounds of nature, and take a splash in the river (ask about tubing down the river)!

My girlfriend and I stayed four nights at RawSpa and loved every minute we spent there. Misael and Michael are so welcoming and helpful, and make a delicious breakfast. We enjoyed just chatting with them in the evenings (Thursday through Saturday they sell tapas, dinner, and cocktails at their little Ceiba Bar in collaboration with a wonderful local cook) after a day of relaxation in the hammock of our porch overlooking the Mopan River. I spent a couple hours on the hammock one day and saw almost thirty different species of birds without moving a muscle, including two species from the toucan family! We'd highly recommend RawSpa to any couple interested in disconnecting from city life, or having an affordable base near San Ignacio from which to do the various archaeological/adventure day trips in the area.

This place sure is a haven for pure chilling. It is set around 9 miles from the lovely town of Ignacio. You can get to San Ignacio from Bullet Tree by taxi for $2 per person or bus for not much cheaper but is an experience. Bullet Tree is a mellow place altogether and autos by the gorgeous Mopan river. At Rawspa they offer a free trip on the tubes or you can grab them and go yourself - it is wonderful. We stayed in the Caracol Cabana which sits about 7 metres from the river in beautiful gardens with an obstructed view to the river - so stunning. Pix attached. The cabanas are well built and gorgeous and fit into their surroundings. The current owners Mike and Michael are warm and friendly and very interesting. They are able to arrange trips for you to ensure you do not get ripped off. We recommend the horse trek to the Mayan ruins Xunantunich with Carla another gem of a lady and like Mike and Michael she had passion for what she does. We stayed 3 days but could easily have stayed longer there is much to see and do in the area. Mike and Michael have a great vision and we look forward to see how the place will grow. From the bottom of our hearts we wish them every success with their plans for Rawspa (which is fantastic already) and the plans they have for the local community.

Our stay at the Rawspa “7thHeaven Air” cabin was by far the best experience we had in Belize.  It was raw, but comfortable, and very personal.  Misael and Michael were exceptional hosts.  They have a vision that is infectious and their passion for conservation and Mayan culture is already clear in the changes they are making (and not making).  It is easy to share that passion when you are sitting on the deck over the river in the morning sun or listening to the symphony of insects at night, or just relaxing in the communal cabana with the aroma of Copal in the air.  It is quite raw, and that is the appeal.  The bathrooms are remote from the cabin because the cabin in basically on the river.  The showers work, but don’t expect US style unlimited hot water and water pressure.  Also, don’t expect the sound-scape to be spoiled by air conditioners.  It seems in perfect keeping with the conservation ethos.  It was one of the most peaceful and remote feeling places we have traveled to, but is only a short drive from San Ignacio.  We had some breakfast and some dinner in the cabana with Misael and Michael, and we cooked our own dinner and breakfast in the cabana.  There was always coffee and a bottle of beer available, and soon there should be fine wines as well. The rope swing/dock area is like a throwback to teenage days.  They had just purchased two kayaks the day we left.  A paddle down the river to San Ignacio for lunch and a shuttle back should be unforgettable.  We just want to pass along a heart felt thank you to Misael, Michael, and Ed for making our stay so enjoyable.

They recently reopened the place and have a lot of work already done, but also still to do. The property is huge and very pristine, which we liked a lot. The river is beautiful and you could go tubing and swimming. Mike and Michael are very attentive, friendly and warm-hearted. They put a lot of effort into Rawspa, which is amazing.
