A really nice hostel with clean rooms and towels. The shared areas are really nice and the kitchen is fully equipped. Clean bathrooms, but there is no hot water. Nice view over the city and walking distance to everything. We stayed in the private room, which were so nice.
This place is the best hostel ever !! We were there for 4 days during Christmas and it was very nice to speak soo easily with people and managers there, sharing each one's travel experience The common places are really confortable, well decorated with a lot of space to share moments with others. We also shared a meal for Christmas thanks to the managers They are available and ready to help to organize activities or bookings It's also a great place just to relax and chill for holidays.
Had a great time at Old House. The hosts will make you feel welcome and the private room was very nice. The communal balcony is awesome for chilling and watching the world go by. Really relaxed vibes here. 10/10
I felt like home. The hostel has very convenient location basically everything is in walking distance, the bus station about 600 meters. The hostel is spacious, very clean, with communal kitchen with free coffee filtered water and verandah to lazy on .My 8 bed room not too big, but claim with comfy bed, fun and with enough sockets. Bathrooms with a hot water and spotlessly. The WIFI very strong and well working.
The staff really make the old house an awesome experience. Stayed with a friend in the 8 bed dorm. Everyone was incredibly kind and fun to talk too. Lots of space on the porch to lounge and sip coffee or beers. Aldo, davina, and friends were great hosts and even tour guides for some local rivers n stuff. Definitely would recommend!
This is an amazing hostel where you'll make friends and feel like part of a family. As a solo traveller this is probably the best place to stay in San Ignacio as I got to meet so many people that showed me amazing places in town. I ended up staying for three weeks as the city became my favourite of all the places I visited in Belize. This will forever be a stopping point along my travels.
We had the private room for 3 nights. The bed was comfy and all the facilities clean. What really made this stay so great was both the amazing staff (Devina & Aldo) who felt like old friends by the time we left and the other guests who stayed. It is a smaller hostel with a great porch over looking San Ignacio so everyone ends up out there talking and having a few beers. The Soul Project beneath the hostel is a cool art, bar of sorts open a few nights a week. They don't stay open all that late so noise is not an issue but it's nice to pop down for a drink. I can't recommend this place enough if you are looking for a chill place with friendly people!
Great location, great staff. The kitchen and bathrooms are clean. For hostel standards I'd say the kitchen was very clean! As a non-smoker it was slightly irritating that I was taking in a lot of second hand smoke with people smoking inside and on the patio. Hostelworld advertised free water but upon arrival I saw that they charge. A dollar everytime you refill adds up. The dorms have large storage cupboards under the beds with a place for a lock. Despite the water and smoke I'd recommend this hostel to fellow travellers for its good vibe and helpful staff.
Stayed here for the first time this past weekend. It was really great! Cynthia who was there doing an internship was super friendly and made me feel very welcome right away. There's a real family vibe here if you choose to join in the fun. Most of the people staying at the time I was there all hung out together on the amazing front deck and Aldo brought out his guitar every night so we could all jam together. It feels like a close knit community and everyone looks after each other. Aldo did a great job of keeping the place clean. It's an old house so it's not perfect but it has lots of character. The traffic got a bit noisy at times but I have in earphones and listen to music when I sleep so after the first night it didn't bother me at all. I was only supposed to stay 2 nights and ended up extending to 4 because it was just to much fun and even then had a hard time leaving. I will definitely go back! …
Navina and Aldo are incredibly chill and are super friendly. The hostel hosts only 20-some people max so it has a really close feel and everyone relaxes outside on the porch together. Highly recommended!
