We stayed in the Cabanas which have a great view With a hammock on the screened in deck but are pretty basic. I’m okay with basic but some simple additions like a toilet paper holder, water glasses and towel racks would go a long way .The lower cabanas are down a steep path so should be avoided if you have mobility issues. The pools are a nice cool down after a hot day at the ruins. We only tried the restaurant once as the service was slow (our mediocre food took over an hour and our drinks didn’t come until half way through dinner) . The front desk wouldn’t give me a towel for our ATM tour as we didn’t book the tour through them . All in all it was an okay place but not great.

Our stay was for 2 nights. Our air conditioned room was exactly what we expected for just under $100 US a night. Pool was nice. Food/Drinks were good. We walked down the hill into the business area and walked around some more. We didn't have the energy to hike the hill back but Taxi took us back for $5 US. Breakfast buffet was a little pricey at $10 or $12 but walking to another restaurant is really not feasible with the hill.

My husband and I had an amazing time at Cahal Pech Village Resort.
We were fortunate enough to stay in both the cabana rooms and the main hotel; both were great options and both had amazing views over San Ignacio. (Travel Tip: Wake up early to see the sunrise coming over San Ignacio, and see the jungle mist sweeping the area, it's stunning!)

Our rooms were on the more simple side, and definitely not luxury but for the price we were very content with our stay. We did find one bug in our cabana room, but it honestly added to the ambiance of the eco lodge experience, thatched roofs and all. The cabana room that we stayed in had a screened balcony with a hammock overlooking San Ignacio in the most magnificent way. And our main hotel room had a gorgeous balcony that overlooked the city as well, both had great views but we much preferred the cabana room.

We avoided the restaurant as much as possible due to the price. We did eat for breakfast because of convenience but it was on the more expensive side. For dinners, within a 15 minute walk there's many great options in San Ignacio and it's fun to walk around the city and see what's going on.

I highly recommend anyone to consider a stay at Cahal Pech!

I wanted to stay at Cahal Pech Village Resort for the view and the pool. I was the only one staying at the hotel for the two nights I booked. It is a good distance from the town and all the locals are very friendly in San Ignacio. I really didn't love my stay here. The view was great, but the service was definitely lacking. I hung out by the amazing pool with a great view of the town and the front desk concierge handed me a pool towel, I opened the towel and it had holes it in. Since I was the only one staying there I felt more like a nuisance than a guest for the few workers there. They said because of COVID it has been hard which I completely understand but I paid to stay there. The view in my room was awesome, but walk to my room there was a large dead beetle that easily could have been cleaned up. So it made me wonder, the last time the place had been swept since they have been so slow. The towels in my room were not soft at all, felt like I was more so exfoliating and not drying my body. The linens were also very rough. I also was told when I arrived that their bar and restaurants are not open during the week and I would have to get any food in the town of San Ignacio. No a huge deal, but I could have been told as the only guest in this hotel for the two nights prior to arriving so I could plan out some places to eat. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again for the price I paid not worth it since the amenities were not great.

The hotel looks good from the outside but we did not love it. After speaking to multiple different people we realized that the hotel charged us double the price for one of the tours we booked via them and which we should have booked in town directly with one of the local tour operators. They also bad talked another tour we had booked with a tour operator in town, which we really did not understand as the tour ended up being amazing and all we could have ever wished for. Their criticism of the local tour operator was unnecessary and we felt a bit as it they were upset that we did not book this tour via the hotel. The service at the hotel restaurant and bar is very good, but when we went out for dinner in town one night, we were questioned by the hotel staff why we had not had dinner at the hotel. We had an overall feeling that they are quite greedy and we had ants in the room. All in all I would say the staff is lovely but the hotel is not great.

We slept 4 nights there.
The view is beautiful
Staff very welcoming
Pool is very refreshing
The price for the room was reasonable!
Only thing the tours offered by the hotel are very expensive
It is better to go in san ignacio and get the same tour from a local compagny there for sometimes half or less of the price.
Food was also good
Very noisy at night since we had a room above the kitchens though

We loved our stay at Cahal Pech! We stayed in one of the bungalows, which I would highly recommend! The view from our screen patio was beautiful and we really enjoyed chillin in the hammock with a few drinks in hand. The only down side to our room was that it was the first room directly next to the pool and restaurant area, so it was pretty noisy all the time. Noise doesn't really bother us but I can image during busy times when there is more people and no curfew, it would be really hard to sleep in that room. Beware that you will have cute lizard friends visiting your room if you are in a bungalow (they like to take shade in the thatch roof) which we loved but some might not. Our taxi driver Ian was SO helpful from pick up to drop off. He gave us so many recommendations and was always asking us if we needed to stop for drinks or snacks, he even made a pit stop by the iguana conservation center so we could check for tour times the following day. He really went above and beyond for us and we really appreciated that. Everyone that works here was so nice and helpful. Since their restaurant has a smaller menu due to covid there wasn't many vegetarian options, but when I asked them about it- they gave me plenty of options that they could make to accommodate me, which was really generous. Basilio was our guide for the ATM Cave tour, and he was also very informative and really nice. Thank you so much for making our stay so easy, we would definitely come back here again.

The Wife and I stayed here for 5 nights (Feb 28 - March 4 2020) and overall the stay was great. The Resort is nice and is next to the Cahal Pech Mayan ruins which you can do as a self tour or with a guide. The walk to town is about a 2 KM walk all downhill but the walk back could be challenging if you don't enjoy walking as it is all uphill.
The Staff was very helpful (Cheers to Joel at the tourism desk for recommending we drive to Xunantunich and Oscar at the bar for the Pinacoladas)
We spent our first night in a single room which had a great view of San Ignacio town but the room was right above the kitchen and we found it loud. The room was a decent size and clean (the patio was basic with two plastic patio chairs) but we decided to ask for a Cabana as they looked awesome. Thanks to Lenny we were allowed to upgrade to a single Cabana!
The Cabana was great with a screened in Patio which had a Hammock and two wooden patio chairs. The room was clean and the AC worked but the only thing to be leary of is the water was warm at best (which we didn't mind and could be because we were in the furthest Cabana from the resort).
The pool is nice but just be aware there are a limited number of loungers and you may not get one.

We loved this resort! The staff were very helpful and attentive when we were setting up the trip and we were pleased with their COVID safety measures. Our driver who picked us up from the airport was super friendly and took us to a local restaurant to get lunch before we arrived at the resort. The bungalow was lovely - we really loved the screened in porch. Our TV didn't work, but we were not in Belize to watch TV LOL. The pool was nice and the breakfast was delicious. The fireside dinner was super romantic although a little smokey. We loved the excursions - highly recommend the cave tour! Basilio was our guide and he did an excellent job giving us an unforgettable experience. We also got to see the Mayan ruins and go to the outdoor market. If you are looking for a trip that brings you into the heart of Belizean culture and won't break the bank, this is a fabulous choice :)

We stayed in a standard cabaña and were provided with a standing fan to circulate the air conditioning, which helped tremendously compared to our first unbearably hot night. No refrigerator or microwave, so we couldn’t bring back or heat up leftovers when we dined out, and we couldn’t keep any cold drinks in our room (no ice machine either). Everything needs an upgrade in the cabaña: cracked tiles in the bathroom, leaky sinks, poor water pressure, worn-out chaise, sliding doors that didn’t lock or even latch, couldn’t watch TV because of odd placement, same with air conditioner facing the wrong way. The location of the resort is also unfortunate; it is up a hill and you will need your own car or pay for a taxi to go anywhere. Plenty of dining options at the resort, but the food was just okay. Drinks were great though! Majority of the staff looked unhappy to be there. As much as we loved San Ignacio, there are too many reasons to avoid Cahal Pech in the future. Plus, we stayed 10 nights and booked directly with the hotel… it would have been nice to get some kind of recognition or special treatment, but only two staff members noticed and who made us feel like VIP guests… thank you Lucy and Jasmine!

Coming from San Pedro to Belize City to go to the airport, I would suggest arranging a taxi or car service to take you. For visiting ATM and Tikal, I'd recommend renting a car. We used Crystal Auto and were very happy with their service. The road to ATM is dirt, but not especially difficult, but you might consider a 4WD.

Hello, We stayed in the hotel this year, but I have stayed in a cabana in the past. We did not have any issues with mosquitoes or any other insects ever. Even outdoors. We spent a lot of time at poolside, on the open deck dining and outside bar and were never troubled.
