Our stay was wonderful, everybody has been super loving and helpful to us, they even took us out for a free tubing tour. The owners are not just hosts they are loving souls welcoming everyone with open arms! Thank you! ✨🙏🏼
Best experience imaginable, especially with travel starting to open up again. Hosts went above and beyond to not only make me feel welcome and comfortable, but also with helping me plan out and enjoy my time here as best as possible. Couldn't be happier.
After spending a few hot, sleepless nights on the coast, we ventured inland to higher elevation. The clean, comfortable cabin was the perfect temperature to sleep. It was beautiful. Situated right near town, we could use this place as a perfect base camp for Mayan ruins at Cahal Pech, Xunantunich, Caracol, and the lovely, young couple running the place hooked us up with, Luis, for the ATM tour. Which was my favorite thing the entire 3 month trip. (Narrowly beating out Weezer on South Beach Miami). I cannot say enough good things about these folks. We got to meet Francisco's Dad, he was warm and friendly. We intended to stay maybe 2 nights, but we stayed nearly a week. Just amazing.
This is a must do. Lovely, convenient location and hugely friendly people. Make sure you do a canoe trip. The river, birds, etc. to yourselves. There is a feeling of meeting people who are totally committed to their community.
I read over and over that it was tricky camping in Belize. I didn't find that to be the case as long as you didn't mind being at designated areas. This was such a place. The owners were helpful and friendly, even getting up in the middle of the night to deal with some drunken idiots. They provided advice about the local area, and kept a laid-back vibe going throughout the "campground." The bathrooms were clean and easily accessible. The camping locations were nice and simple. And we had wifi, which was a big plus. The only thing for people to know is that this isn't a remote camping area. It's near the main part of the city, so road/city noise is a little louder than you might expect. Ear plugs worked just fine for us, though. Great spot for the budget traveler!
This is so much better than staying in a hotel. The bungalow was clean with nice bathroom and big comfortable bed. Sitting on the terrace facing the green garden was a pleasure in the evenings. The owners are nice as well. I would come back without hesitation.
We stayed here in a cabin for 3 nights, and we definitely could have stayed longer. The property is peaceful, with lots of trees and birds around. The cabin was basic but very clean, with a good bathroom and a little veranda you can sit out on. Nelli and Fransisco were super lovely - Fransisco even went and bought fresh ginger and made a ginger tea for my partner when he heard he was sick, which was so very kind! Frank, who also works there, was very welcoming and gave us some great tips for where to eat. The location is perfect too, right across from the market, and close to the shops while still having the benefit of a large, peaceful and luscious property. Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re in San Ignacio!
I am traveling with my 2 young kids and also my friend with her 3 kids. We each rented a private cabin and had a wonderful stay. The cabins are simple but very clean and each have the option for A/C for an extra cost. Each cabin has a little porch with 2 chairs for relaxing or drying out wet clothes. The property is huge with lots of space for the kids to run, play and explore. It is so wonderful to be able to lay in a hammock, catch up on work on my computer, while my kids play freely in a safe space. I would highly recommend Mana Kai to anyone, but especially those traveling with children. During our stay, there wasn't any food or drinks available for purchase on the property, so we did have to walk a few minutes for coffee or snacks. However, Mana Kai is located behind the french bakery which is delicious and across the street from the town market. Between the bakery and Rosa's taco stand at the market - we ate really cheap and yummy food for every meal.…
Camping in a small R.V. Price is right , amenities are all here including clean hot shower and fresh fruit to pick off the trees. Beautiful grounds, convenient to San Ignacio and surrounding ruins and other tourist attractions. Best of all management are extreamly accomodating and treat you like family. It feels like my home away from home.
We stayed in one of the cabins on the grounds of this beautiful property. The cabin was simple but emaculate and accommodated three of us well. This property has a variety of vacation rental options, so just check the website for more info about that. The staff is responsive and helpful in every way. Francisco arranged tours for us, which was great because online there are so many options it's hard to know what to choose. We waited to book anything until we arrived in San Ignacio and talked with Francisco about our options. Once he knew what we were interested in, he arranged tours for us. In fact, he himself is a licensed Belize tour guide so he took us on a tours of Big Rock Falls and Rio Frio Cave which was fun and interesting. The grounds are well kept and the property is clean and well manicured. We were super impressed with this place and with the staff. Another great feature of this place is how easy it is to get to and how near it is to restaurants, the farmers market, etc. A french bakery is right across the street too. This place is just all the way around great. If we come back to San Ignacio we will certainly plan to stay here.…
