We had a great stay at Sweet Songs. We stayed in the Garden House, which is just as pretty as the photos and sits away from the other accommodations on the property. We were impressed by the beautiful house, the fully stocked kitchen, the lodge grounds but above all by the hospitality of the Sweet Songs staff. They were wonderfully kind, helpful and accommodating. They even left us a gift for Christmas. Very sweet.

Hotel's Favorite
We took our adult children to this lodge and enjoyed it thoroughly. We opted for the all inclusive package, so we had transport to and from the resort from the airport, along with 3 meals, afternoon snacks and drinks (all of which were great!). We choose tour bundles and had great tour guides all to ourselves. Everyone on staff was attentive and helpful, assisting us with arrangements and answering all of our questions. It was a worry free vacation, and we'd gladly go here again.

If you are looking for a jungle get away this is a great spot. You are definitely in the Belizean jungle. We stayed in the treehouse and it was really nice. We booked on booking.com and they didn’t have updated pictures. It was still a nice place either way thought. There is only WiFi in the restaurant and office so keep that in mind. All of the staff was very nice to us, especially the dinner staff. One of the days we needed a packed lunch for an excursion and they took care of us completely. It flooded a lot the week before we got there so the road to the lodge was incredibly rough. I imagine it is still difficult with a small car no matter what so keep that in mind. You are also far out there so it is much more effort to eat anywhere other than the lodge itself. Look out for tarantulas on the stairs going down to dinner at night. Harmless little fellas though just really cool to see them.

We stayed at Sweet Songs in November 2020 during COVID times, as well as right after a massive flood had devastated the entire area, while ALSO at the same time much of the Lodge was under construction (building a new bar and brand new luxury tree houses by the river). Due to COVID along with the incredible flood many of the activities we were looking forward to we weren't able to participate in (for example, a chocolate making class), but the staff truly went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable even with everything going on. The staff were always masked, and there were touch-free hand washing stations around the property. We stayed in the regular tree house since the new tree houses weren't ready yet (the first one was just a few days away from being finished during our trip, so we JUST missed it!). It was so magical waking up in the tree house with giant windows everywhere, and being able to look out into the treetops from bed, looking for birds or other little jungle critters. On our last day the staff was able to arrange that we had lunch on our tree house patio, up in the trees, and it was such a fun twist on our dining experiences! The food was fantastic, especially the "Belizean Breakfast"; it was definitely the best dining we had in all of Belize! We did the "all inclusive" package so we didn't have to worry about the individual pricing of each meal. One afternoon we did a tortilla making class which our kids LOVED. We learned how to make tortillas from start to finish, and got to snack on them while we waited for our dinner shortly after. The staff was diligently working to clean up the private riverside beach area after the flood, so that we could go canoeing along the river which was another fun experience. However one of our favorite experiences staying at Sweet Songs was going on a private tour of the local Mayan ruins. We had the entire historical site to ourselves since tourism is so scarce right now due to COVID, and we were able to explore without other people nearby. Our daughter (4 years old) said it was her favorite part of the trip!

We booked our trip in February for a June trip, before the travel bans due to the covid 19 pandemic. The resort was supposed to only take a deposit, but we were charged the whole amount of over $1900. We had to cancel. We did not want to cancel, but travel was banned. The resort promised us a refund. They haven't refunded anything. Very shady business practice. Please be careful and stay elsewhere.
