We stayed at Maya Mountain Lodge in mid August 2016 for 3 nights. The staff is exceptionally friendly and the rooms are affordable, clean, and comfortable. It is a short 20-25 minute walk to the heart of San Ignacio, which can easily be done with a taxi as well (4-5 USD). The Lodge provides a lovely respite from the hustle... More

I was here 3 nights to do some day trips in the area. The grounds are green and lush with lots of birds and wildlife, the pool area is peaceful and a great spot to cool down, loved the outdoor dining area. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. I stayed in a cottage with 2 beds, a/c, free... More

Our staff enjoyed this guest who they recall as is a very pleasant person. We would like to clarify a couple of possible misconceptions. We are quite good at assisting single travelers to connect with great tours. We are a licensed tour operator and can operate any of the tours. We do have a continually changing group of trusted operators... More

From the staff, to the location of this place, and the serenity it provides you laying in a hammock taking in the beautiful nature that surrounds you. I must give this lodge a 5 star. The pictures are spot on except they miss the surrounding plant life, the lodge has private botanical garden and makes you feel like you are... More

We stayed a week at Maya Mountain in early August 2016 with our three grown daughters. Our room was not luxurious but it was clean. We had a small kitchenette that we used everyday. We didn't eat at the restaurant because the prices were too high for all of us to eat there (X5) but there is a relaxing sitting... More

I can't speak highly enough about this place. We initially booked 5 nights but arrived 2 days early due to Hurricane Earl heading for the Cayes. Our first room was Motmot, a small cottage with a thatched roof. We loved this room, it was comfortable and felt like a real experience sleeping under the thatched roof in a jungle setting.... More

Although, we initially had issues with our first room, the hotel was very accommodating and was able to make a switch. The property itself was gorgeous and it was not uncommon to see hummingbirds and other wildlife right outside our room. We ended up staying in two different cabins and they were both really nice. The roof is made out... More

We started our visit to Belize at this wonderful lodge. The setting is beautiful and soothing. Accommodations were perfect for us. This is not staying at a posh city hotel so if that is the style you seek this might not be for you but if you wish to be immersed in the environment then you just scored. Staff is... More

We stayed here for two nights following our travels through Belize and Guatamala. Maya Mountain Lodge is located in a jungle setting but is a couple of miles from downtown San Ignacio (a US$5 cab ride). It is pleasant and scenic and very eco-friendly, with cabins and buildings scattered throughout the property. We stayed in a building that housed seven... More

My family of five stayed at the Maya Mountain Lodge for 3 nights as a base for our trips in the San Ignacio region. The staff at the lodge were incredibly friendly. My daughter told me the outdoor dining area "looks like Disney, but it's real". Very good breakfasts with delicious fresh juices, fruits and incredible mango jam that we... More

Situated just outside of town, you wouldn't want to stay here unless you had your own car. The rooms are located on a beautifully lush property with signs indicated different types of foliage (nice touch). The staff was very helpful in printing me documentation to get into Guatemala. Our room was the most basic we could have booked, it didn't... More
