A truly outstanding experience. We've been to Eco Lodges in Costa Rica, Peru, Argentina, etc. and Chaa Creek is a top, world class experience. The property is a fabulous nature preserve and the available activities are outstanding...for couples or the whole family: Mayan Ruins, Hiking, canoeing, Caving; it's got it all However, what sets Chaa Creek apart is the Staff and their attitude. We felt part of the family of long term, very knowledgable guides and property staff...from the servers to the Management. Their attitude is always "yes, we can make that happen" My highest reccommendation; but there are families there.
My 9 year old daughter have long awaited a return to this slice of jungle heaven. We stayed here 2 years ago. We would have returned last year if we could, but due to Covid, we had to wait. Wow! The Lodge at Chaa Creek came back out of a pandemic even exceeding the service and style from our last visit. Where do I begin? let’s start with the beautifully decorated and plush cottages. It’s a wonder that this eco-luxury gem in the jungle has such high standards and amenities of a 5 star hotel. If I could give it 6 stars, I would. Muchas Gracias to each and everyone of your highly attentive staff. You know who you are. I loved seeing old faces and meeting new ones. I have stayed at more hotels than you can imagine, in more than 30 countries, and am pressed to find personalized service as good as at Chaa Creek. Where in the world can you arrive at your cottage to find your very own Blue Morpho Butterfly displayed in your room in its pupa, only to emerge before your very own eyes the next day with the anticipation to release it into the wild on a special wish? The food is fantastic. My daughter especially loved the Open Hearth Mayan Cooking Class. I asked our chef to move in with us…move over hubby. We love the infinity pool with plenty of room and poolside drinks and food service. We were told the lodge was fully booked, yet we barely saw a single soul throughout the day. Being on the Mecal River, we got to enjoy other free amenities such as tubing, swimming, and canoeing down/up the river. A fascinating museum, butterfly farm, monkeys, toucans, a Maya organic farm, horseback riding, a fantastic local market in town, spa, adventure tours, and countless sacred ancient Maya ruins…just a few of the things to do at Chaa Creek. I am writing this review with hesitation because I don’t want to share this secret slice of heaven with the masses. Why go to the coast? I might add that I am also an avid diver. Do you want to come to see the real Belize and enjoy the flora, fauna, cuisine, and especially the lovely local Belizans? We now come to Belize just for Chaa Creek. No need to go to the coast anymore. Thank you. See you soon.…
My stay at Chaa Creek was more than I ever imagined. The staff was friendly, efficient and accommodating. The grounds are well kept, the cottages are a dream-roomy and well stocked, the food was incredible with dinner including an appetizers with 4 courses of veritable tasty choices. The variety of nature focus activities was welcoming to get a sense of the rain forest. The guides were friendly, polite and well informed about their job and and the area. With our world reeling from political, economic and cultural issues, the people around Chaa Creek exuded pride in their culture and acceptance of others.
We had rescheduled our planned trip from 2020 to 2021. It was our first real travel since the pandemic and it was so fun. We loved our time at Chaa Creek. They were great to work with us to reschedule. The individual cottages were very cute and well maintained and decorated nicely. We love staying in hotels that are unique to the area and not always a brand hotel. The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the food and staff at the restaurant. Our only disappointment was that we didn't get to stay longer and enjoy more of the amenities. We had planned tours every day and missed swimming in the beautiful pool and visiting the butterfly farm and other things. The road getting to it is a bit rough but well worth it when you get there. We would highly recommend it.
I can not say enough about our trip. The people where the best. We did tons of activities. We did kayaking, zip line. Tubing thur the caves. Visited th ed ruins. The pool was great. Shopping. Lunch in town and again the wonderful people at Chaa Cheek was the ones he made the trip so special. It was the best vacation i have had and if your looking for a place to go Belize is a great place to go and the workers for treat yuh ou like Mayan God.
