Well situated resort between Cahal Pech and Xunantunich. Wonderful view from the top of the restaurant and the staff was friendly and helpful! Food was good!! Room was clean and large! The pool area was very nice and family friendly! Set up a combo zip-line and cave tour through them and if was very good! We would definitely stay there again!
We overnighted at Rumors hotel on October 15, 2022. The room was fine, large comfortable king size bed. Nice clean room with AC. The check-in was smooth. We were told they have a Karaoke night that ended at 12.00 AM and when we asked the front desk guy if we would hear the music in the room, the guy said that no guest had complained. This was not the reality for us. The Karaoke was very loud and we had to bear this off tuned singing until midnight. The worst part of the experience was that the guests above us were walking in and out of their rooms and opening and closing scraping doors all night. The problem were not the busy guests but the LACK OF MAINTENANCE since the doors needed to be cut or shaved so that they don't scrape the floor which was immediately above our ceiling. The hinges need oil so that the door does not make noise. This problem seems to be from all the surrounding doors above and in front of us. The loud noise of the scrapping doors and unoiled hinges went on until 1.30 AM. We informed the hotel that night through WhatsApp, a number they made available for guests. We did not get any response or assistance to move us to another room. Until the following day at 7.00 AM, we heard back saying that was "out of their control" and they were sorry for inconveniences caused. (Very lame, very poor management, and very poor customer care). So why provide your hotel guests with a WhatsApp number if there is no one available to help? This makes no sense. If you would like to go to San Ignacio, Cayo District, Belize and have a night of insomnia, this is your hotel of choice. The hotel has an incredible potential but it seems that they cannot decide between having a bar atmosphere with very loud music by the pool (perhaps for the public) and a hill side tranquil hotel. Its a pity because the view is stunning overlooking distant Mayan mountains, hills, valleys and an ever green lush jungle. Regarding food service by the poolside second floor, they messed up the ceviche order and we had to wait approximately an hour to get served.…
We chose Rumors because of its location, and discovered that if we booked directly with them that we could book for 50% off. Spotless rooms and grounds, excellent, well-priced food (you can choose to eat poolside, in the restaurant, or on the veranda overlooking gorgeous mountain ranges) and a staff that was friendly & courteous. They are a green facility, and you need to let them know when you need new towels, etc. You need to book your breakfast ahead of time, but other meals were available any time you were hungry. This family run small business is a gem., and we will definitely stay there again.
This hotel is typical of a what you might find in a small town. It is well maintainted, the pool are and gronds are probably the best feature. The rooms are a bit dark and small. Staff is superb; when we visited all meals had to be pre-ordered - which was fine. We had breakfast and dinner and both meals were excellent and well priced. The hotel is close to town and grocery stores. You will need a car. Although this is not related to the property, we were heartbroken at the number of stray dogs we saw everywhere around San Ignacion.
We had a group of 30 and basically took over the resort. The rooms are pleasant and very spacious. The country side setting is beautiful. The pool is great and so is the food and bar. However, what makes this place special is the staff. Wow! They were absolutely amazing. They took great care of us all week. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Clean and safe. Pool has a wonderful view of the jungle. Kids enjoyed and feels like home. Definitely a place to come back. Staff were very nice and went out of their ways to make us feel like home. Wonderful
Beautiful resort, sadly due to COVID I was perhaps the only resident at the property on the day. The pool was drained, and no restaurant at the property. The views from the property is beautiful, little drive from both Cayo and Benque. The room was however pretty clean and toilet was quite comfortable. Recommended..!
Great service, food and atmosphere. We started our week in Belize with 3 nights at Rumor's. It was perfect. Welcoming and friendly staff. Delicious drinks and food. Pool area was relaxing and beautiful with great views. Darwin was great in helping us plan our trip and making suggestions for things to do. We booked 3 excursions and they were all unique and fun. On our down day, we went into the town of St. Ignacio and visited the Iguana sanctuary, did a rum tasting, hot sauce tasting (we now order many varieties of Marie Sharp's hot sauce to have at home) and a chocolate/cocoa making tour/tasting. Although one of our tours was to visit the Mayan ruins, we also visited the one in St. Ignacio to tour on our own. We had dinner at a great little place in town. We would definitely stay at Rumor's again. We were actually there in January of 2020, but it wouldn't let me go back that far to add that to my review.…
We had to cut it short to leave before the Covid lockdown. We were upgraded a room at no charge. The staff is friendly and the resort is clean. Would have liked to have stayed longer but timing was not on our side.
My host family recommended this lovely resort for relaxing by the pool that overlooks the most beautiful views of the rainforest. I was very impressed with this place! The staff were nice, the bartender was attentive and made great drinks and the food offerings were delicious. The price to use the pool was a bargain for such a luxurious atmosphere. Next time I visit Belize I will stay at this resort. This place represents the perfect tropical vacation in paradise.
