We stayed for a week in room 8 which has a shared kitchen with room 7 Pros: 1) Very Nice Room/facility 2) Very usable kitchen A) usable cutting board knives and silverware B) pots and pans for stove top C) microwave D) fridge E) coffeemaker with filters etc 3) air conditioning 4) Nice bath/shower 5) Very responsive for any issue Minor issues 1) no microwave safe dishes 2) oven, but no oven safe cookware 3) hot water in room uses an "on demand" heater with no water tank and a thermal cutoff. Unless the temperature for the water heater ( in a closet accessed from outside the building) is set "just right" you either have the hot water overheat and shut off, or you get luke warm water. We were there for a week and eventually got it tweaked just right after working with the owner/family Note: you get the room serviced maybe every 3days with new towels etc Very good value…
Family of three spent two nights. Clean, well-kept, and comfortable. Great patio for sitting outside. Very convenient, quick and easy walk to main downtown area for markets, restaurants, and tour offices. Owner was very helpful and personable. We didn’t do rum tasting or cooking classes; those might still be on hold from COVID.. but we didn’t ask about them.
We popped in here on a cloudy afternoon touring San Ignacio, having read about the rum tasting. Initially, we were a bit surprised at the steep price, but this was one of the funnest things we did in Belize. The rum tasting includes seven rums (!), with plenty of information about how the rums are made, the history of rum in Belize, and drinking culture more generally in the country. While the rum tasting is located inside a hotel, I cannot weigh in on that - but this is worth of stop whether or not you stay here to get a good sample of the rums.
Great spot, awesome staff, nice spacious rooms. Will and Luid were so nice to us while we were there, and gave us a ton of intel on the dos and don’t of the area. We had a nice 2 bedroom apartment for a few days and it was great. Cool little rooftop seating area. Will come back
We loved the location of this hotel and the desk staff were wonderful. The room was spacious and cleaned well every day. BUT the shower temperature was a mess - either scalding hot or freezing cold. We talked to the desk, but it was not fixed. We finally figured out how to take a shower without getting burned or frozen, but it involved turning the water on and off all the time to let it regulate. Not fun. Having said that, this is a 5* place if you get a room with a shower that works well. We had a kitchen area outside our room that we shared with one other room. It had a fridge, stove, sink, table and chairs and cooking utensils. Very handy. You can walk to the market and great eating places. Plus, we had a parking place each day. The roof top area is pretty unappealing (needs work) but it still a good place to view the city and have happy hour. We took the cooking class and that was really fun. And we learned a lot about cooking in general - not just about cooking Belizean food. Highly recommended! We would stay here again, but just not in the same room (unless the shower is fixed).…
We called a somewhat last minute audible and decided to book with Rainforest Haven Inn. Be the time we were done with check in we were so happy we made the call. The staff here are the so incredible lot friendly, helpful and informative. The hotel is walking distance from so many great restaurants, markets and Cahal Pech ruins. They have rum tastings, hot sauce tastings and cooking classes that are truly fun and educational. The rooftop terrace has an amazing view and also provides a common areas for guests. They also have a kitchen area for guest use, although there is so much good food in the area we never used it. So thankful that we decided to stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone else.
The location is amazing. It’s minutes walk to all the restaurants and the market. And at the same time it’s a bit away from the center and, therefore, it’s very quiet. It’s super clean and all the staff is amazing and made our stay so enjoyable. A special shout out to William who provided so much helpful information about the area. Can’t wait to come back!
I was looking for a budget friendly option that would be easy access to tours and the market. Rainforest Haven Inn was perfect. I didn't want a party place, but still wanted a hotel with a common area to meet other travellers. The roof top terrace was great. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. Because this hotel is in San Ignacio there is no avoiding some noise. I also stayed in a place outside the town and still heard roosters, dogs and vehicles so unless you want to be completely isolated, you will have to expect some noise. The communal kitchen was great. Everything is kept very clean. This isn't a new building so it has its quirks. If you're looking for fair priced comfort and convenience than I highly recommend Rain Haven Inn.
We stayed here for 4 nights recently and were very happy with our stay. The staff was so helpful and friendly. The room was great. Very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. We really enjoyed taking the cooking class with William and Anna Maria and the rum tasting with Luid. It’s also right in the heart of SI so it’s easy to get around. Highly recommended!!!
We had a delightful stay with george and shamira being wonderful hosts. They have rooms to rent where they live above. The rooms have two beds, spacious bath and a closet. There is also a kitchenette shared by the two rooms. We bought bread and butter and had it for morning breakfast. Its very secure with multiple locks and a place to park your car. The reception is across the street where they do rum tasting with louis and hot sauce tasting with ariana. Its a wonderful location very close to everything in town being walking distance away. The wi fi exists but its sketchy and water in shower can run hot or cold in extremes. But over all a wonderful stay with two of our tours being arranged through the hotel.
