Unlike a new hotel, the Rainforest Haven Inn in San Ignacio, Belize is an historical structure, formerly home to Busman Arnold, a Belizean entrepreneur. Each room is unique with air conditioned, cable TV, private hot and cold bath, mini refrigerator and free WiFi. What makes us unique is that we are the only accommodation in the downtown area that offers a roof deck with a 360 degrees view. Perfect to drink your morning coffee or relax in a hammock with a drink. Guests have access to a full kitchen on the third floor which is perfect to make a quick meal, warm your food or make some coffee. We are about a 3-5 minute walk to restaurants, grocery shops, banks, tour agencies, bus terminal etc. Everything is very close without feeling like you are in the thick of it. On site there is also Traveller's Maya Juice (education rum tasting room), Marie Sharp's Tourist Center & Culinary Class (come cook like a local), and a gift shop.

We stayed here for 4 nights recently and were very happy with our stay. The staff was so helpful and friendly. The room was great. Very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. We really enjoyed taking the cooking class with William and Anna Maria and the rum tasting with Luid. It’s also right in the heart of SI so it’s easy to get around. Highly recommended!!!

We had a delightful stay with george and shamira being wonderful hosts. They have rooms to rent where they live above. The rooms have two beds, spacious bath and a closet. There is also a kitchenette shared by the two rooms. We bought bread and butter and had it for morning breakfast. Its very secure with multiple locks and a place to park your car. The reception is across the street where they do rum tasting with louis and hot sauce tasting with ariana. Its a wonderful location very close to everything in town being walking distance away. The wi fi exists but its sketchy and water in shower can run hot or cold in extremes. But over all a wonderful stay with two of our tours being arranged through the hotel.

This is a review of the Rum and Hot Sauce tasting. We had such a blast at the Rum and Hot Sauce Tasting with Jorge! It was hands down the best thing we did in San Ignacio. Jorge explained the entire Rum distilling process and even showed us how sugar cane is grown by showing us a living sugar cane plant across the street! We got to taste all kinds of rum and even a sample of Cashew wine! It was an amazing value for all the rum that we got to DRINK! The hot sauce tasting was just as great! We got to taste every single hot sauce that Marie Sharp makes as well as the jams, marmalade and pineapple juice! It was great since we had been looking at all the hot sauces and wanted to take a few back for ourselves and as gifts. Totally recommend going!!!!

Our family of three had the pleasure of staying at the Inn for six nights. The staff (William & Luid) were very helpful and informative. The room was comfortable and spotless. The A/C was a welcome respite from the heat of each day. The WiFi connection was great. The TV was a nice touch but we only had it on for about an hour our entire stay. Your location is great. Right on the edge of things. We easily walked to the Market, eating establishments. Several attractions were also within easy walking distance ( Ajaw Chocolates, The Iguana Conservation Project). We even walked up the hill to Cahal Pech! The rooftop view was great for the evenings. We enjoyed all the sights and sounds of the neighbourhood and community. We were truly sad to leave you all.

We (a group of 14 with 5 young children) stayed here for 3 nights and it was the perfect landing spot for us. Excellent location, a quick walk for restaurants, the market etc. There is a great rooftop deck with views of the city and mountains. The awesome people at the hotel were what made the trip for us. On our first night Will and Shamira made us a delicious home cooked meal and Martin entertained us with a rum tasting. We all agreed some of the nicest people we had ever met while travelling.
