I would recommend this place and have to every single person coming to Belize. The owners are sweet & knowledgeable beyond measure. The staff is super friendly and the food was delicious. I can't wait to go back!

I have stayed at Banana Bank twice now and I have loved it both times. The grounds are simply breathtaking and the staff is always so considerate and kind. The food is on point and I have never had a bad meal there. The rooms are comfortable and clean and are well taken care of. I will definitely be staying here again. Thank you to the owners John and Carolyn and the staff for such a wonderful experience!

This beautiful setting was only outdone by the amazing staff! The owners, John and Carolyn were available and enjoyed sharing stories with all. The kitchen staff consistently provided excellent meals with lots of options. A special shout out to Dena, Rosario, Miriam and Clifford for their great service and food. Our group of 6 occupied 3 of the 4 rooms in our building. There was a large covered, outdoor living area with comfy furniture. It was perfect for us to gather to sip coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening. We had a fairly large bedroom with very comfortable bed but there was no where to put clothes - no hooks, rack or closet. I just kept things in the suitcase or over a chair (this was unique to our room, the others had clothes racks). The bathroom was clean and quite large, and the shower had hot water but low water pressure. Some of the building needed some TLC and repairs. However, the kindness of the people made up for any of the issues. We would stay there again!

Stayed at banana bank for a week for a horseriding trail. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The room was ok, ac was working but had no wifi reception. The bed was really uncomfortable though (I was lying on the bed springs) and the lighting really bed. Couldn't see a thing in the bathroom and the shower was really dark as well. The food was tasty but repetitive. They served a lot of chicken. I really liked the soups though. They were really flexible with mealtimes which was amazing. The horses were really well trained and reacted well to the signals. They were riding western style. The trails weren't really that good, either we were always going the same paths or they had to cut a path with the machete. Great if you're just riding for a day though, but for a week it got really boring. We didn't see any animals either. Went to see a Maya ruin (Xunantunich) with a guide from banana bank. Impressive but I would have preferred a real guide with more in-depth knowledge about the site. We were supposed to go on a boat tour (they drove us there) but not enough water in the river meant that was cancelled. Bad planning in my opinion and we spent an hour in the car for nothing plus an hour back. They were very nice about it though and offered a different activity instead. Overall: good stay, would do a different program with more opportunities to see wildlife instead though.
