We loved our trip to the Sleeping Giant. The property was beautiful and the staff is excellent and friendly. The food was also very good and reasonably priced. They do not gouge you as many resorts do. Best of all were the activities. The waterfall cave expedition was fantastic and Tikal is a must. Overall, a great vacation.

Sleeping Giant in a gem in the jungle. The surrounding landscape is spectacular, with beautiful views of the "sleeping giant" mountain, the passing river and the lush jungle. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. We took several excursions which were arranged by the hotel, including transportation to and from our locations. One of our favorite parts of the trip was a night hike into the jungle with a guide provided by the hotel. There are delicious tropical drinks both poolside and at the restaurant. The food is world class, with delicious entrees and desserts at every meal. The dining is open air so be prepared for warm temperatures depending on the time of year. Room accommodations are beautiful and private, with outdoor private spaces for enjoying the local scenery. We thoroughly enjoyed our entire stay!

We have just returned from a one week trip to Belize which included three nights at the Sleeping Giant Rainforest Lodge. It is a luxurious lodge in a beautiful setting deep in the rainforest along the Sibun River. We stayed in a Riverview Suite overlooking the river, with our own warm plunge pool. Everything was so lush and green and water all around. Our accommodation was excellent; the food was wonderful, and the staff very welcoming and helpful, interested in what we were doing and where we were from. We took two tours: a morning nature hike with Harrison along the tributary to the Sibun River and across three suspension bridges; an early morning birdwatch - saw humming birds, cuckoo, two toucans. We did the hike / climb to the the gazebo / lookout at the top of the hill or what seemed like a mountain. Great view, well worth the effort. We used the kayaks one morning and another time wandered through the citrus orchards. We thank all the staff for a great holiday, especially Dallas at the front desk, and Aaron in the restaurant. This was originally a dad-daughter vacation, but when Corona virus arrived, we all decided to go to Belize...wife and son. The whole place is like fantasy island in the jungle. We stayed in Creekside cabin #7, spacious for a family of 4.. The food is amazing and very reasonably priced. There is a wood fired pizza a few nights per week on the grounds in a lovely setting. Kayaks are complimentary for a picturesque float down the river on property. There are miles of trails to hike, including a 315 foot ascent up to a tower that overlooked the valley. Not to be missed! Friendly staff.
