Planned a surprise bday trip for my boyfriend and I thought that the sleeping giant was the perfect spot ! Prior to arrival I had asked if we can do an early check in. When we got there we waited around 40 minutes and told us the room would be ready . Came back and they said to wait another 20 minutes . It was literally around 3 pm and don’t understand how no rooms were available yet. At that time I was frustrated , hot , and hangry . When we got to our room they didn’t accommodate my request for the creeksise cottage with rocks in the outdoors . We literally got creekside cottage #10 which looked so tiny compared to the pictures that’s displayed. They also didn’t try to remediate the situation and just said “ The rooms not available sorry “. I would say I’m very disappointed in the customer service here. You would think that this place is #1 rated place yet the service was lacking . We had room service at 8:30 am and when we got back to to lodge at 7 pm pm our dishes from breakfast were still there and no one came to clean it. I also asked someone to clean the debris that morning and again the outdoor tub area was filled with debris! I also asked the night prior to bring us breakfast for the next day at 8:45 am . They literally woke us up at 7:00 am to deliver breakfast. Whoever is communicating this to the staff has horrible communication. Overall I would give customer service a 1 star. The resort itself is nice . I loved that they had bikes to ride and explore the place. We liked that the the pool was open 24/7 which was super nice. We explored the lodge and found some super cool places . The nest was super beautiful and I liked how it overlooked the mountains and the river. Such a nice view . We did the hikes for walking bridge #1,2 & 3. I loved how secluded it was and we found a beautiful creek that was so serene! We tried to do the hike #4 but that path took us back to the bathroom which was pretty funny ! Overall , we had a good time at this place exploring the beautiful jungle.

My family of 5 stayed At Sleeping Giant in early March. The lodging is secluded and astonishingly gorgeous. The flowers, trees, birds, creek, river and paths are stunning. The restaurants serve lovely food and drink with plenty of specials to keep it interesting. Excursions are excellently planned and we were so well cared for. I cannot recommend this enough. Everyone working there went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating. Super wonderful experience.

Being one of Belize’s hidden gems, SGL is an amazing resort. From the Koi Fish pond to the peacock that kept spreading its enchanting feathers. To begin with, we were greeted with beautiful smiles which is always a great start to determine the type of service we would receive throughout our stay. Crisna and Jean were amazingly helpful and friendly. The food and drinks were delicious. Their infused mojitos are top tier! While relaxing in the plunge pool I saw a family of toucan - the countries national bird. As for the tour, we did the horseback riding which was filled with adventure. We galloped through the orange orchards, across the running creek, into the jungle then into the grapefruit orchard before passing the swinging hammock bridge. Our two guides were very professional and informative. The experience was a solid 10/10!! If you’re ever in Belize be sure to visit Sleeping Giant Lodge. It’s a moment worth experiencing :)

We weren't sure what to expect but WOW, what an incredible experience. The property is dotted with wonderful experiences -- a treehouse, hiking trails, a nearby cave with Mayan remnants (I won't ruin the surprises within) and a peaceful swimming hole at the river. The staff were incredibly kind. The restaurant featured vegan and vegetarian fare, as well as Mennonite cheese and yogurt at breakfast. I was blown away by the resort grounds... gardens, chickens, ducks,

If you are looking for a jungle getaway in Belize... this is the SPOT! There is so much to see and do here that you can spend a week and still not be able to get to everything. The staff was very informative and welcoming. There are so many tours to do including a breath taking waterfall hike that I highly recommend!

We recently visited the Sleeping Giant Resort and it was nothing short of amazing. The staff is very welcoming and informative. There are so many different activities they provide the guests including hiking to waterfalls, cave exploration, and many more. The lush green forest is a beautiful experience and recommend anyone looking to get away from regular tourist spots. And if you’re looking to just relax, the Sleeping Giant has one of the most elegant pools & daybeds I have ever seen!

Our stay at sleeping giant was a dream come true. This resort is nothing shy of stunning. The landscape is laid out so thoughtfully with beautiful flowers and decorative lights. We stayed in the Mountain View Penthouse, and our view of the sleeping mountain giant was incredible. We were able to lookout at the sunrise every morning and enjoy the beautiful mountain and skyline. My favorite tour was definitely the waterfall adventure. It’s about a 40 minute hike to reach the waterfall but it was worth every step to reach it. We saw three waterfalls and each one was better than the last. We even got to jump from one of the waterfalls, it was exhilarating! The food at Sleeping Giant was great. I highly recommend eating at Don Tonitos and getting the arugula pizza, it’s the best! Overall we had an amazing stay and I can’t wait to come back and do it all over again!

This place is amazing! Accommodations are comfortable and beautiful and food is incredible (never had a bad meal). The pizza bistro is great although they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. The employees are so very kind and accommodating. The excursions offered are top-rate and exactly as stated. Spa services are provided in your room (bonus). We had a flat tire on our rental. Nabil offered to change it for us (unexpected and very much appreciated). Would not have been able to get around on our own otherwise. Pool area is great too. If I were to make a comment about the pool I have to say it could have been cleaner (algae on the sides). The hot tub was out of order, but they were working on that and apologized for it. No microwave or coffee maker in the room but there is a fridge w/freezer. A bubbler is provided for hot/warm/cold water. We will be back often.

After two and a half years wasting away in the frigid Northeastern US, my wife and I needed an escape. It feels like providence that we found Sleeping Giant. The facilities are incredible. Our Creekside Cottage is spacious, comfortable and immaculately appointed. Our outdoor tub is luxurious, picturesque and romantic. The pool and restaurant are perfect for wiling away multiple afternoons. The tours and activities offered are varied, exciting and my only complaint is that we were unable to participate in more of them, primarily due to logistical issues, no fault of Sleeping Giant. Due to a miscommunication and after a less then auspicious start to our stay, the entire staff bent over backwards to make sure that all of our concerns were addressed: unnecessarily going above and beyond so far as to send the culinary director from one of their other locations to personally address our needs. We have never been those to demand or expect perfection and we do believe ourselves to be very relaxed travelers, but, after communicating our needs, everyone from the waitstaff to the office staff to the corporate office made sure that the remainder of our stay would be one that we would never forget. From our experience, Sleeping Giant is a very special place and everyone who works there cares deeply about the experience of their guests.

My husband and I traveled for our anniversary and decided to stay at Sleeping Giant for something different. The Mountain View Suite was amazing with a plunge pool and an outdoor bed on which to lounge in the afternoons. If we decided we wanted any meal served in our suite, room service was free and just a Whatsapp away. Birding in the area was led by Abel one morning before the sun got hot. Lots of flycatchers. All of the staff at Sleeping Giant are friendly and very accommodating. Our only complaint was noting trash below the porch areas when we arrived. We surmised that the housekeeping area was on the bottom floor and their patio was littered with empty plastic bottles and debris. Over the railing was strewn notebook paper. The second day, the papers were picked up but the unsightly trash on the patio remained. It just wasn't a great thing to see when the surrounding jungle was otherwise so splendid. The food was amazing and priced well within reason. We enjoyed Billy and Esther's company while we were there. Wish we could have stayed longer--until next time!
