The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is nice and central, near the bus terminal. Checking in can be a bit of a hassle, as you have to go to the bar upstairs to do it and the same waitress serving mugs of beer has to check you in so if the bar is busy you gotta wait a bit. Nonetheless she was efficient. The room was clean, bed was large and comfy, AC worked fine, TV was good, hot water heater and tea and instant coffee is a nice little touch. I was in Room 5, and there was a sporadic beeping, which was the smoke alarm, the beeping was not consistent, a bit of a nuisance, and not sure how to turn it off. But thankfully I had a sleeping pill to knock me out. The bed was very comfortable so that made up for it. I checked out early, but the restaurant/bar was still closed (7am) so I just tossed the key through the gate. All in all an ok stay, but not if you are planning several nights or plan to be in all day.

If you really have to stay in Belmopan then most probably it is a good option as it is very close to the bus terminal and market. There is also attached restaurant (we did not try out). Rooms are ok and clean, wifi works very well. Ac in the room but no need for it, you can use fan. But we had only one big towel in the bathroom and even that one was with at least 4 holes!!! The attitude of the management is not the most welcome, especially of this pony-tailed guy who treats clients as disturbing elements. The cleaning lady Marta is very friendly and helpful. And be warned - the hotel is closed on Sundays! Joke? In general there is "no town" and therefore there is nothing to do in this place. San Ignacio is much better place to explore the country or Hopkins is also alternative. There are more options to stay and eat in both places. Bus connections are really frequent, so do not stay in the town where is nothing attractive.

I had business at the Ministry of Health and stayed 3 nights at the Hibiscus Hotel. Samantha, (owner/manager) was just awesome! She was able to find me transportation from Belize City to Belmopan and was able to make my arrival into the capital warm and welcoming. The king room I stayed in was large, comfortable and had everything I needed. Cable, WIFI, hot shower, coffee for the am. I ate several times at the Corker's Restaurant and had delicious meals and the service was great. Staff were friendly and able to answer any question of had about the city. MOH is steps away, bank across the street, bus terminal 2 minute walk down the street. Caladium restaurant is around the corner for breakfast, but it too is closed on Sunday.

I spent one great night at this ecological and bird sanctuary consciousness hotel just near the market, Heritage Bank and the bus station. The room was very nice with everything! Very convenient too!!

I paid about $55/night. Credit cards accepted. If you're a backpacker, stay here--this is unquestionably your best option in town. Excellent location close to the bus station. Scotia Bank right across the street. Restaurant onsite that serves very delicious and amazingly reasonably priced food for lunch and dinner--I pretty much ate every meal there. Owned-managed by a young British couple. Husband is the chef and is usually hidden in the kitchen. The wife is a lovely young woman in every sense of the world, and she'll be the one out-and-about keeping an eye on things and getting you sorted with advice and information. Room is spacious and comfortable. A/C. Wifi. Hot-water showers. Ask about a city tour. You cannot check in on a Sunday. If you know the exact day you'll be arriving in Belmopan and in need of a room, call ahead and book--the rooms fill up fast. N.B.: You do NOT want to extend your visa in Belmopan. Do it literally anywhere else in Belize that has an immigration office...
