Cute huts, nice colors - made you kinda happy. Small pier, cute but only one bed in the Sun. The "beach" was full of seeweed and unusable. Quiet spot on the island. The staff however.. Not my cup of tea. Service, smiles and important information - Non existing.
Been staying here for years and never got around to write a review. Place is perfect if u want to relax and unwind. Staff is always awesome, rooms are clean and reasonably priced, directly on the water with a great dock to chill. Bikes part of the gig so a short ride to town is ez and fun. It ain’t the Ritz so if that’s your style this probably isn’t the right cabana nor the right island for u! Stay barefoot and go slow ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻😎😎😎
This is absolutely the worst property I've ever stayed at. It was very old, needs a complete face lift and was DIRTY. The owner upgraded us to a much larger but pretty disgusting unit, but with a ocean front balcony. We left 1 night early and didn't seek a refund. Expensive for what you get. Much nicer places to stay... don't stay here.
We had a great time here and Bugs was awesome! Loved the bikes and the local vibe. Also enjoyed the dock. The accommodations were simple and exactly what we were expecting. We appreciated being outside of town and that made the place very quiet, which was nice.
We spent 7 days on Caye Caulker to celebrate my 50th birthday. I wanted an easy, low key, relaxing week where I didn't come home from vacation as exhausted as I was when I left. If you want a quiet relaxing place- look no further than Barefoot Beach. It is located towards the middle of the island but along the water so you can watch those beautiful sunrises! The property is super clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We left feeling like we had made friends for life. Bugs made our stay very comfortable and came to our porch several times a day to see how we were doing and to visit about her home. We could not have asked for better guidance. She even helped my friend schedule me a surprise massage for my birthday and arranged with a baker to prepare me cupcakes! Talk about going the extra mile! We are already planning our next trip back to Barefoot Beach.…
Barefoot beach is in a great, quiet location right on the water with free access to bikes to get you from one side of the island to the other. Rooms are very basic but clean with a/c and decent wifi. Overall great value for money, just missing the full five stars over small, simple things such as no hand soap in the bathroom, only one roll of toilet roll, no hot water in the shower, nowhere to hang your clothes up.
I stayed 3 nights in the parrot perch room. I chose the room because of the view ad also more space. Note this trip was to unwind from manic NYC and I chose to come here first to decompress. I wanted no fuss, and limited everything form contact to people and surroundings. Customer Service: 5/5 The resort manager - bugs is amazing. Responsive, helpful, and laid back. I came during covid (May 2021) and the island itself was really vigilant. The residence at the time not so much. I also became a little relaxed with the rules. Comfort: 3/5 Room was spacious. Furniture dated. Very Clean. Comfortable bed. Limited utilities. Located away from the center and the bicycles they provide is definitely a help. 8 min cycle into town. Value: 4/5 This was off-season for them so the price was good. I wanted privacy and have space, but there were smaller huts for half the price.…
We loved our stay here! Very clean and comfortable! Great AC! It’s definitely worth the price! Love the dock and free bikes the most! It’s in a great location on the island! Would highly recommend. The colors are so cute and the pool is nice if you want a break from salt water
I reached out to this hotel to book our family stay in Caye Caulker. I was take back by their initial response to my inquiry “i can give you discount but its not going to be cheap”. Just assuming that its not affordable to my family. I went ahead and book against my better judgement and wow. 2 bedroom House for 6 people and they gave us one roll of toilet paper for 3 days. I had to find the local supermarket to restock on toiletries on my own expense. Upon check out I ask what the policy on replenishing the rooms with towels and toiletries and the own started a full blown yell match. I felt totally disrespected and its not until I said I would give her a bad review that she walked away and stop yelling. Later on she followed my family to the beach and accused us of stealing the keys to her house which was in the lock on her door. Upon calling her worker he told her the keys are right there. It was a horrible experience at this hotel and I hope she learns to have a better sense of respect for her customers.…
Barefoot Beach Hotel was a great deal. It’s a little far south but RIGHT on the sea with a beautiful beach and pier, and bikes are complimentary for your trip - we actually preferred biking to being on the main drag and walking everywhere! You can bike pretty leisurely from the Split to Barefoot Beach Hotel in 10 minutes. Susan was a fantastic hostess and we felt safe and well cared for here.
