We had a wonderful time at Xanadu! It is a quaint and lush resort with an intimate feel that perfectly matches their approach to guest relations. While we enjoyed the property amenities, especially the perfectly situated oceanfront hot tub, it was the friendly and excellent support that set this resort apart from all the places we have stayed on Ambergris Caye. The owners are a delight and on property daily to ensure a smoothly run operation. The housekeeping staff is super efficient and unobtrusive. Our rooms were pristine when we arrived and stayed that way throughout our 7-day stay. The groundskeepers always had a friendly greeting and our bartender, Winston, made the most delicious pina coladas and mojitos. The entire staff was excellent but the real star of the show is Jessica, the activities coordinator. She managed our every request with efficiency and a smile, even on short notice. We were able to enjoy ourselves without the stress of arranging excursions and activities. She made our trip fun and easy. We highly recommend Xanadu and will return as soon as we can! Some notes during covid-19 pandemic ... There is a 6:00pm curfew for ages 18 and under, 8:00pm for adults. Masks are mandatory with a $500 fine for first offense and jail for second. The local residents and authorities are taking this very seriously and everyone is wearing a mask. We were required to wear one while on the golf cart and even on the boat. Seated dining is the exception and we enjoyed "normal" dining experiences. State of the world and we adapted but if you are anti-mask, this is not the place for you.…
We stayed here at the beginning of December 2020, taking a risk of doing one international trip during the COVID-19 pandemic. We were extremely pleased with the safety measures that the hotel had taken. Our bags were sanitized on arrival, there was a hand wash station outside of check-in, papers, pens and keys were all sanitized and bagged and there were temperature checks, a glass partition at the check-in desk and face masks were of course required. The resort is very pretty, with amazing views and sunsets (especially from the hot tub). It makes you feel as though you are in a jungle, with great established trees, a waterfall and other unique features. Bicycles were available to use, as well as kayaks and there is a great dock and swim area. There are also several friendly cats and we saw a few large iguanas in the trees over the large and awesome pool. There was plenty of golf cart parking and we liked the location, with several stores close by, but far enough from town to be peaceful and feel secluded. Our room was very cool, being in an upstairs loft unit of one of the domed buildings. The kitchen had been recently remodeled, however the bathrooms and furnishings were a bit dated. We had a minor issue with the shower on the main level, which they fixed for us and comped us a couple drinks. The staff was amazingly friendly, attentive and helpful for restaurant advice and to help us book some snorkeling tours (which left right from the on-site dock). We decided to also do a long couples massage, which they arranged for us at the end of the dock, which was very peaceful and relaxing. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return here on our next trip.…
I recently stayed at Xanadu at the end of December 2020. The property is lovely. It feels secluded and naturally tropical. Great foliage, palms, plants, walking path, waterfall, heating pool. You feel the serene energy of the property and it made us feel as if we were in a secluded, tropical destination. Our reservation also came with a golf cart and rental and although it was nice to have a golf cart, the location of Xanadu allows for many restaurants and stores to be within walking distance. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff was also a bonus. Peter and Kathy who run the resort were professional, kind and accommodating. Winston the bartender was favorite and everyone from the house staff and front desk were allows polite and kind. I would highly recommend Xanadu for anyone looking to travel to San Pedro. We booked an 8-night stay at Xanadu at the last minute for our honeymoon in the year of Covid-19. Xanadu is a Gold Standard certified resort per Belizean health standards and we felt completely safe during our stay there. The owners, Peter and Michelle, are extremely gracious and were there to greet us during our relatively late arrival at the resort. We stayed in an ocean view loft suite and found a nice bottle of wine with honeymoon wishes awaiting us in the suite. Jesica, Ingrid, and the security staff were on hand to help us with the tiniest of requests during our entire stay. We used the hot tub and the on-site laundry facilities during our stay. We loved the location, with a couple super markets, a pharmacy, and a breakfast joint right outside the resort, and walked into town several times during our week on the island. We'll be sure to stay here again the next time we're in San Pedro!…
This was our second visit here to Xanadu, stayed December 2019, reserved for March 2020, thwarted then due to Covid, finally arrived December 2020 after testing negative. We just love this place and the people of San Pedro make it so special, they thrive on tourism and one can tell that they have missed us! The resort is perfect, clean, quiet, and the folks who run it are outstanding: Jesica, Ingrid, Peter, Orlando ...just to name a few. We booked a couple tours and had a ball. Everywhere we went precautions were taken, most dining was open. Please if you are on the fence about staying here, I hope this can convince you to just go! It’s a dreamy place, opt for the waterfront loft or lower level. Walking into the beach right from front door is stunning. Sunrise will greet you every morning! It really is wonderful, tip the folks well, they really need it!!!!! ❤️…
