Room feels icky overrall, high-level-the sink in the kitchen didn’t work, the tv is front of the couch and not the bed, the couch has stains on it so I’m sure it’s not cleaned and sanitized, the shower had visible dirt clumps all around it and even a razor cover, so that also was not cleaned and sanitized. Also a reason we chose this hotel for the free airport shuttle, but driver who was about 10 minutes late from our pick-up time tried to Charger us $5USD, but when I told him it was supposed to be free, he ‘ok no problem, that’s what they told you.’ Which clearly he was just trying to get over.

We loved just about everything about this place! The staff was superb, the location (just a 2 minute walk from the water taxi port) fantastic, and the room itself beautiful. Our ground floor balcony had a full view of the ocean, and the room had a free hammock available that I put to good use. The front desk also provides beach towels upon request, which was really nice. The king bed was very, very soft. The room was large and clean. The AC very good. We rented a golf cart for one day for what (I think) was a decent deal ($50US for 8 hours), plus it was called for and delivered to us. And except for a dog we would hear once in a while from...somewhere...it was a pretty quiet room and location despite being so central. There were a few little drawbacks, though. We saw a little gecko in our bathroom one evening, which was fine. But we also found a cockroach once that was about the size of the gecko. I know geckos are normal in tropical areas, though I'm not sure if the roaches are. It wasn't a big deal but maybe be on the lookout if you're afraid of bugs. The wifi was very spotty; I could be sitting in one spot and it would go in and out. And the TV reception wasn't always the greatest. Finally, I rented two rooms (one for us, and one for another couple), and the 2nd room had AC that didn't work one night, and then only worked somewhat after the staff fixed it. Ended our Belize Holiday in Ambergris Caye at the Mayan Princess. literally a stones throw from Belize Express water taxi. views of the water are wonderful from the balcony we had. Our room was spacious, good sized kitchen and king bed. This was our first time here and really, you are close to everything in down town San Pedro, markets and restaurants. Booked our snorkeling tours right across the beach at Amigos Del Mar, very convenient. Also, restaurant next door just a walk away. I enjoyed this hotel and would stay again, bed is comfortable. With that said.... booked a golf cart for our entire stay, so not worth it. One day for us would have been plenty. You just aren't sure how things will go so you err on the side of caution. And doesn't it sound so fun, tool around town in a golf cart HA. roads are rough, many many speed bumps, pot holes etc. there is no shock on those carts. just not as much fun as envisioned. And think how noisy and crazy it is congested with all these carts during busy times. it was definitely an experience. also, ladies at reception were just so nice and friendly and helpful! …

The location could not be improved upon. It is on the beach between the Water Taxi dock and the Amigos del Mar dock. There is always something to see from the balcony, including watching the boats at the reef and the dive boats the other side of the reef. The room has a kitchen area, seating area and a balcony. The bathroom has an in-bath shower. From teh receptionists to the housekeeping maids, the service could no have been better. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. They also provide an efficient laundry service, which reduces the too much clothing.

It seems that I somehow ended up with a double booking by mistake. The hotel was generous enough to cancel one of my bookings even though we were way past the cancellation period. That alone deserves a 5* review. Beyond that, rooms were large with a kitchen and an awesome view of the beach. Very centrally located, right next to all the shops and restaurants yet you wouldn't know it by looking out from the balcony, as all you see is the ocean and the sky. Highly recommended!

I liked the hotel. Staff were very nice and helpful. Well located on the beach one block north of the park/water taxi. Nice room, nice patio overlooking the beach and the ocean. Hotel entrance was a bit hidden from the street down the short alley to the beach, not well marked. Not specifically an issue with the hotel, but the sargassum grass was heavy on the beach (It was one week after hurricane) and did not smell good. The town/island needs to spend more effort getting that stuff cleaned up in a timely manner. It makes the beach area unusable.

Nothing to say but good things. I loved this place. The staff is the best on the island, they clean the rooms very well, and the amenities are top-of-the-line. There is a shady rasta that sells herb out front but those guys are everywhere.

Great place to stay if you come for scuba diving. Excellent Wi-Fi, large rooms with fully equipped kitchen. Beautiful view of the sea from the room balcony and very quiet all day long. Walking distance to any diving shop. No restaurant is available on the premises but many places to eat within walking distance from the hotel.

We were in San Ignacio when Hurricane Lisa decided to come toward Belize. We had a reservation at the Mayan Princess on Tuesday, all flights to Ambergris Caye stopped at 2pm on Tuesday and we had a 12:40 flight to the island. We had no idea what to do or where we would be safest. I called the Mayan Princess and spoke with Marla who tried to assist me and answer my questions to enable me to make the best decision while trying to predict the weather! lol Thankfully, we decided to continue with our plans and went to Ambergris Caye. This is this a nice little hotel where the rooms feel like a small condo and in it's in an excellent location to walk to everything, but the staff is the best part. Marla, Manny and the rest of the staff were so wonderful during what was a stressful time for us - being this was our first hurricane! lol They made sure we had plenty of water, a battery operated lantern and kept calling to check on us. We definitely felt well cared for during our stay and it lowered our stress level immensely! Thankfully, Lisa decided to spare Ambergris Caye but had she made things more difficult it is nice to know that the Mayan Princess has a generator so we would have still had water had the electricity gone out! Definitely recommend this hotel!…

The room was clean, nicely furnished, had all the kitchen amenities I needed (including bottled water), was quiet and cool. It is located next to the dive shop I used and near several groceries and excellent restaurants. The staff was probably the best part, though. Everyone was very nice with smiles and greetings and I felt like they wanted my stay to be comfortable. They arranged my diving and COVID test for return to the US and provided towels and a hammock for the balcony. I felt safe (travelling as a single female). I'd definitely stay there again.
