We had a lovely stay at the Mayan Princess. The best thing about the stay was Natalie, she was friendly and extremely helpful with information and booking excursions and travel. The hotel was steps away from the ocean. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking at the ocean. The ferry was also just steps away from the property and many restaurants were just within a 2 minute walk. Belize was great! Very relaxing and we felt very safe. The food was amazing as well.

We were in San Ignacio when Hurricane Lisa decided to come toward Belize. We had a reservation at the Mayan Princess on Tuesday, all flights to Ambergris Caye stopped at 2pm on Tuesday and we had a 12:40 flight to the island. We had no idea what to do or where we would be safest. I called the Mayan Princess and spoke with Marla who tried to assist me and answer my questions to enable me to make the best decision while trying to predict the weather! lol Thankfully, we decided to continue with our plans and went to Ambergris Caye. This is this a nice little hotel where the rooms feel like a small condo and in it's in an excellent location to walk to everything, but the staff is the best part. Marla, Manny and the rest of the staff were so wonderful during what was a stressful time for us - being this was our first hurricane! lol They made sure we had plenty of water, a battery operated lantern and kept calling to check on us. We definitely felt well cared for during our stay and it lowered our stress level immensely! Thankfully, Lisa decided to spare Ambergris Caye but had she made things more difficult it is nice to know that the Mayan Princess has a generator so we would have still had water had the electricity gone out! Definitely recommend this hotel!

The Mayan Princess did not disappoint. The hotel staff was friendly and attentive (learning our names, and connecting us to the resources we needed). The room was clean and continued to be cleaned each evening. Each room faces the ocean with a balcony to sit out on to enjoy the early morning and evening breezes. The accommodations were perfect, the bed was comfortable, and everything worked perfectly. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown, next to Lily's Treasure Chest (a fantastic restaurant) and Amigo's Dive Center. We cannot wait to return!

Clean, basic oceanfront Hotel close to water taxi, airport, and many restaurants and bars. The staff was nice and helpful.
Good sized rooms, but not as relaxing as we hoped. We stayed for 2 weeks and were disappointed by the kitchen amenities for a longer stay.
The Good: Central Location, on the beach, surrounded by stores and restaurants, Friendly staff, Good size room with A/C and ceiling fans, Free Hammock (If available)
The Bad (That they can control) WiFi is slow and constantly drops out! The kitchen was minimally stocked, no large bowls, cutting board, s&p shakers, storage containers etc. Very tiny Fridge. Black out drapes are desperately needed, unless you can sleep with lights from the docks shining through your window all night and love waking up at the crack of dawn.
The Bad (That they can NOT control) Active Waterfront - You will hear the boats leaving and returning. A restaurant patio is close by. Intermittent construction, screaming kids play soccer until dark, barking dogs etc. Sound travels through the stairwell (Poor lonely dogs next door constantly barking, people slamming doors and yelling in hallway) Skip this place if you’re looking for quiet and relaxing.
Overall, we got what we paid for, but a few changes would have made our stay just a bit nicer. If you want to be close to the action of San Pedro, the Mayan Princess could be a good choice for you. In the end we left 3 days early to go relax at a quieter property before heading home.

We regret any inconvenience caused by noise from the town center, which we can't control, though we do provide earplugs. The location could not be improved upon. It is on the beach between the Water Taxi dock and the Amigos del Mar dock. There is always something to see from the balcony, including watching the boats at the reef and the dive boats the other side of the reef. The room has a kitchen area, seating area and a balcony. The bathroom has an in-bath shower. From teh receptionists to the housekeeping maids, the service could no have been better. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. They also provide an efficient laundry service, which reduces the too much clothing.

I liked the hotel. Staff were very nice and helpful. Well located on the beach one block north of the park/water taxi. Nice room, nice patio overlooking the beach and the ocean. Hotel entrance was a bit hidden from the street down the short alley to the beach, not well marked. Not specifically an issue with the hotel, but the sargassum grass was heavy on the beach (It was one week after hurricane) and did not smell good. The town/island needs to spend more effort getting that stuff cleaned up in a timely manner. It makes the beach area unusable.

We had a great stay at the Mayan Princess. The location is nice, close to the ferry and downtown and still on the waterfront. The beach is compact with piers on both sides, but the location is quiet and relaxing while still being in the heart of San Pedro. You can walk to most of the centeral town and it's resturants and stores easily. The saff was very helpful booking us tour and dinner reservations. The room was spacious with a nice kitchen that suited us for the little actual cooking we did. We recommend and will stay there again on our next visit to San Pedro

I have stayed at Mayan Princess many times. It is such a lovely, safe, and welcoming place to be on the island. I feel safe there, even alone (thanks to Russell at security), they clearly follow all COVID protocols, Stephanie goes the extra mile to keep the rooms clean and comfortable, the front desk staff (Sophie, Marla, and Samantha) are so helpful with anything you might need, and Rhoda and Adelita couldn't run a better place to be. And WOW- those views!! from every room! The location is perfect- close to a few places to pick up food to eat but having the kitchenette makes navigating COID much more comfortable. And Lily's is right next door for good food. I feel so fortunate to have visited, soaked in the sun, seen the beautiful reefs, and felt safe during my visit. If you feel safe enough to travel during COVID, Mayan Princess is a great place to stay!

I must say that the staff at this hotel are very nice, they couldn't do more to help us whilst there, they are always friendly and always had a smile and lovely greeting, they also would get right on it if you needed anything from them. We will be back as the rooms were just as described and were well maintained, the view over the ocean was fantastic, you are right in the centre of town but it was still quiet and relaxing to stay there, we also did a lot of diving whilst here and there is a dive school right outside. thank you for a great holiday, and we will see you soon.

For sure the best hotel in San Pedro! Amazing rooms and beds. Very comfortable, safe and friendly staff with only one way in and one way out, the staff takes very good care of you. The rooms have 2 fans and incredible air conditioning! One night i got cold and had to ask for a blanket!! The staff at the desk knows each guest by name and after the last guest has come back from dinner they lock the door to ensure safety!! The water infront of the hotel is amazing with a dock and chairs provided by the hotel. This hotel is located right in the middle of the best restaurants and shops and dive shops San Pedro has to offer. We will only stay here from now on!!

All of the rooms at the Mayan Princess are the same . All have kitchens and ocean view . Wonderful place to stay , right in the heart of town . Close to everything . Ramon's is a fair ways from the Mayan Princess pretty sure you will not have access to any of their services unless something has changed since Feb . We really enjoyed our stay at the Mayan Princess .
There are more places to choose from in the San Pedro area.
