We are so thankful for our friends talking us into going on this vacation. We had the very best time anyone could ask for. From the moment we were greeted at the dock to our leaving 6 nights later everyone (I mean everyone) was so helpful, friendly, courteous, etc.. While my husband & friend enjoyed the fly fishing with Alex,... More

First and foremost, this resort is absolutely beautiful. It is relatively untouched and still very wild, without losing any sense of luxury. We stayed in a villa and enjoyed how large and clean it was, and the gorgeous pool/ocean view. Everyone who works here is extremely friendly and quickly learns your name and favorite drink. We stayed with an all-inclusive... More

Spent 4 nights and three days fishing. Great fishing venue for the beginning fly fisher to the most advanced. The guides are great and will quickly assess your abilities and make recommendations to ensure that you have a great time. The lodge and food are great and the staff is always there willing to help. We spend 6 nights at the end of October. Although the weather did not cooperate for the entire stay we had a very memorable trip and will definitely go again. The resort staff made it very simple and no stress to travel from the main Belize airport to their lodge. Once arriving at the lodge we were professionally welcomed by... More

We spent 7 nights here in October. From the moment we landed to the moment we departed the service far exceeded our expectations. All of the staff is friendly, quick with suggestions, and great with remembering our names and prior drink orders. The fishing guide we had was a perfect match for us since this was our first salt water... More

THE PLACE to get started with flats fishing. Easy travel, friendly home atmosphere: El Pescador delivers the goods on all counts. Relaxed ambience but the entire operation is exceptionally well run with near military precision. Everything from the airport water taxi to the meals to the fishing instruction was on time and first class. The rooms are clean and cozy,... More

As a first time saltwater angler with a non fishing wife I was a little apprehensive about our trip to Belize but I needn't have been. Our experience at El Pescador was superb, they could not have been more knowledgeable, helpful or friendly. My guide was great and the casting instructor brilliant. Food, room were excellent and hotel staff couldn't... More

Perfect long weekend trip for 4 buddies. We have been doing these trips for awhile and like to have an activity to do during the day and this hit the spot. We did the all inclusive package, so all food, local drinks, and fishing was included. The guides that we had were passionate about the guest catching fish. We fished... More

After planning over 30 flyfishing trips to the Florida Keys, Montauk and the Outer Banks, this trip was our first that we didnt plan ourselves : lodging, activities, meals, transportation was all done through Orvis Travel and El Pescador and they did it all in grand style. Everything detail was thought out from Belize City to the orientation on our... More

All of the staff are very friendly and more importantly, helpful. All of the rooms are excellent and extremely clean. The standard of the cuisine was very good. I strongly recommend going All Inclusive, thereby obtaining a free bar and 4 meals a day are available, although most substitute lunch for a packed lunch which includes soft drinks and beers.... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
El Pescador’s beachfront lodge and villas are situated on over 45 private acres with ambiance, specializing in fishing, diving and eco-adventures. We are family-owned and operated with emphasis on creating camaraderie and an authentic Belizean experience. El Pescador is proud of our philosophy to protect and nurture friendship, adventure and the environment. El Pescador has long been known as a world-class fishing destination offering outstanding flats fishing for bonefish, tarpon and permit. El Pescador has been the only resort on Ambergris Caye specializing in saltwater flats fishing since 1974. Since coming under new ownership in 1997, the resort has established itself as an eco-friendly tropical getaway, including a commitment to offset all carbon emissions generated by its guests flying to Belize. Donations are made on behalf of guests to a local Belizean non-profit organization, Green Reef Environmental Educational and Coastal Research Institute, to offset the carbon emissions used to travel to Belize. El Pescador was also among the key organizations to implement the new Law protecting bonefish, tarpon and permit as catch and release species. This is the most all encompassing legislation of its kind worldwide. It is great news for Belizeans, anglers, tourists and conservationists alike. El Pescador is a serene and gracious establishment on the doorstep of the world’s largest living Barrier Reef. El Pescador offers accommodations in guest rooms within its colonial style, mahogany main lodge, as well as in 1, 2, and 3 bedroom luxury beachfront villas. The villas are perfect accommodations for couples seeking romance and privacy, and for families and small groups traveling together. All rooms and villas are beachfront and have unobstructed views of the Caribbean blue waters. In addition to unequaled fishing, this first-rate resort offers all the eco-adventures which take full advantage of Belize’s exotic flora and fauna. Scuba diving, snorkeling, manatee watching, cave-tubing and zip-lining, and Maya archaeological explorations are just a small assortment of the activities available while staying at El Pescador. ... more   less
