We got a bungalow and a regular room for a party of 6. The bungalow was absolutely amazing and made the perfect home base for our group. The regular room was great too, a small porch and great A/C. The hospitality is great. They will feel like filmily by the time you leave. The cook is also amazing. He cooked up some fish we caught and turned it into a grand dinner. I could not have a higher recommendation. Keep in mind it is a bit off the beaten path. This means it is quite but you will also need to rent a golf cart for your stay (but why would you not? so much fun)
Lina Point is an exceptional hotel with great service and fantastic accommodations. David was very helpful and attentive when it came to reservations, he ensured that everything was organized and hassle free. The staff was very attentive and kind, I highly recommend Lina Point.
David, Ramon, Lucky and all the staff are the best. So accommodating and Lucky is a very good chef. The rooms are very comfortable and always clean and fresh. We can’t wait to get back to San Pedro and be with all the beautiful people.
Simply the most amazing experience from start to finish! The team at Lina Point went so far above and beyond for my wife and my daughters birthdays! Decorated the rooms, surprised us with a cake and just made the birthday trip so memorable!!! LOVE THIS PLACE!
Nice little resort away from craziness of San Pedro yet close enough to hit the town if needed (short 5 minute ride). Just like in any good boutique Hotel expect personal attention to your needs. Staff is super friendly and personable. Highly recommended!
Out of the way, but such a unique spot. We had an Overwater Bungalow and it is the best choice for this spot. Tiny plunge pool but a good cool off in the hot afternoons. Really liked the glass floors in living are and bedroom. One night a HUGE Crocodile swam underneath what a rush!! My husband and friend fished from our deck caught a few small fish. Would recommend this place.
We spent 4 nights in one of the over water bungalows. The rooms were comfortable, but could use just a little TLC. The view from the room was beautiful and the fish portals on the floor were a great touch, especially at night when the light attracts the fish. The best part was the staff. We became fast friends with Ray behind the bar and Lucky in the kitchen (who’s food was great). We had such a good time hanging out before after the day’s activities.
My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights. Unfortunately I think the website did a great job of selling an experience the venue did not deliver on. Pros: the company they work with for excursions (I can’t seem to find the name but would happily give them a 5 star review when I do find them) was fantastic. Karen and Deborah specifically were angels and so knowledgeable. The tours they offered did not at all disappoint and we were always told to where to be and when to be there making the experience seamless. They also had the in on renting a golf cart immediately which was super convenient. The hotel itself is located pretty close to all the shops and restaurants in the busy downtown area (prob about 15 min golf cart ride) and also very close to other great bars and restaurants on the more northern end of the island. Cons: I don’t know why this isn’t made apparent up front, but the “over water experience” does not include swimable water. The hotel is located on the lagoon side so the water you are over is about 3 feet of murky water infested with jellyfish and crocodiles so you cannot swim. I had seen pictures of cabanas with stairs to the water on trip advisor and can confidently say that is not the accommodation offered here. Another con was the first cabana we were put in was dirty. There were stains on the sheets and the brown comforters and pillow cases also had stains on them. They must have recently painted because there was also some paint spots on the sheets, floor, and bathroom sink. After asking to have the sheets changed, we were told the housekeeper left for the day but they sent the sweet bartenders wife over to help. We also found clothes from the last visitors in the closet and the sinks had not been wiped down. A lot of the water features (faucets, shower, tubs, etc) we’re very rusted and we even noticed one sink was broken. We had an issue with our hot water the first night as well that couldn’t be fixed until the next day. We also found little comforts like a soap dish or proper bedside table to be missing. In fact, there was little to no furniture beyond one stained small table. The couch in our “living room” was wicker patio furniture. The deck was huge but only came with one plastic lounge chair that looks nothing like the photos. We also complained twice that we were put in a cabana that did not get any sun. When we finally changed cabanas, the one they put us in was a little better, but still had the same outdated issues. Essentially, I’m glad we were out of the room most days and nights because I was very uncomfortable being there. Overall the staff was nice and definitely worked with what they had, but I do not think it’s worth the price and would not book again.…
We wished we had stayed much longer at this beautiful place! Our overwater cabana room and the pool and deck outside were huge and even larger than it appeared in pictures. It was quiet and private and every room in our cabana had beautiful floor to ceiling views of the bay and sliding doors that could be opened up to let the breeze in. We saw some cool fish and jellies from our in-floor window. The service was spectacular, and everyone was welcoming and helpful. Ray Ray, the bar tender, immediately set us up with delicious welcome rum punch, bar games, and great local recommendations. The restaurant is small and very casual, which added to its charm. We were blown away by how good and inexpensive the food was, including light, crispy fish and chips, fresh shrimp ceviche, a hearty breakfast sandwich and a French toast plate. We enjoyed lunch by the pool and breakfast on our deck, along with free coffee. Like everyone says (and is also true at any other resort in San Pedro) you should rent a golf cart to get around. Part of the appeal of Lina Point is that it’s quiet and feels like an undiscovered gem, slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of San Pedro town. Still, we were able to walk only about 10 minutes down the road to a farm stand, and it’s about 12-15 minutes walking to a whole row of awesome beach bars. By cart it’s very very close to town. The cart rentals and excursions they conveniently offered from the resort were on par with the best prices we saw anywhere else.…
For what you spend on a room go stay on the beach. What they don’t tell you is that it’s a swampy lagoon that has crocodiles in it and you have to drive a long ways to get to the beach. Interior was mostly clean but very outdated. Definitely not worth the price. They also won’t refund you your money if you change your mind.
