This place! The staff is absolutely amazing! They anticipate your everyone need before you are even aware you have one. The in-house restaurant and bars are great. The Phoenix doesn't have a traditional beach, which I thought I would miss, but their pool area and location on the island are wonderful. You can rent a golf cart for the duration of your stay (a great experience!) but you are close enough to walk downtown. Ecologic Divers is steps away. Restaurants as well. They do not have elevators, but walking up to our third floor ocean front two bedroom condo was not a problem. There are washers/dryers/laundry soap/full kitchens/USB plugs/cable TV/Bose Bluetooth speakers/games/books/robes/slippers in the units. We didn't miss a thing. We do not usually return to the same place twice, but this is our second trip and we will continue to come here annually. We came with family and friends and loved every minute.

The Phoenix is the perfect place to stay on Ambergris caye, perfect location for walking around town, walking down the beach, great bars and restaurants within walking distance. We worried whether we should stay downtown or out at a resort on the beach but a long way from town. We made the right call, much easier to get in your golf cart and drive around to the beach - rather than needing to drive into town each night for dinner. We stayed in a beachfront villa, beautiful. But what makes this place so perfect is the staff, so kind, friendly and helpful. They send us an email a week before our visit with recommendations on what to do, where to eat, etc. A couple emails and one phone call and our entire week was planned, fishing trips, golf cart rental and a dinner reservation for every night we were there. Everything they suggested was great and I would not change a thing.

We picked the place b/c as 2 couples this was the most cost effective as we could get a 2 bedroom unit and split the cost. Additionally, the hotel is rated one of the top in Belize so we knew we wouldn't be disappointed. Prior to arriving, I exchanged numerous emails with the concierge to make tour bookings and for help in finding vegetarian friendly restaurants. The concierge was great, always helpful, and quick with their responses. The hotel also helps book your transfer from belize city to san pedro. They charge you about the same as you would pay if you did it on your own but going through them is great as they communicate with maya airlines to ensure you make your flight. The hotel also offers a free pick up and drop off to the airport, making it stress/worry free. Check in was very easy/simple. On checking in, they also walk you through the property before taking you to your room. We were blown away by the unit as the 2 bedroom 'apartment' was very spacious. There's a large living room and kitchen, along with an outdoor sitting area which faces the pool and the water. The bedrooms were VERY spacious with extremely large bathrooms. The place felt more spacious than a condo unit in a metro downtown. Each unit also provides bluetooth speaker so you can play music and a small bottle of rum so you can make rum and coke. Since we were celebrating 2 bdays, they also decorated the rooms for the celebration and provided complimentary birthday desserts. The hotel also does rum tasting on certain days and happy hour from 5 to 6 PM every day. This is a great time to liquor up as the basic booze is free during happy hour. rum tasting was fun as it's a bit of change in pace and you get to learn about the different rums that are available. Ricky was great serving during the happy hour. During the day time, Ricky is at the pool, transitioning up to the bar in the evening. The bar location is a bit odd as it's up the stairs but a bit hidden from view. It does not have much of a view as it's on the side of the hotel. The pool is also nice, on the small side and not heated (so can get chilly) but a good spot to relax. they have two pools - one is more of a lap pool and doesn't get much sunlight . the other is more of the infiniti pool and gets plenty of sun. There is also a bar at the pool so you can order drinks. The hotel and most of san pedro does not have much of a beach due to the barrier reef so the hotel property ends right before the boardwalk. Red Ginger is also the restaurant that's on property. We had breakfast here once but otherwise mostly went to town for meals. Breakfast was okay and my only disappointment was that for the price you are paying for the room, breakfast was not included . It seemed everything was an 'extra charge', which got frustrating. The hotel also helps you rent golf cart if you like as they already have golf carts on property but again would be great if they provided that to the customers complimentary. While we went during the off season, the hotel did feel very empty during the weekend. we barely saw other guests but it def. felt like a family friendly place. On Sunday and Monday we saw more families with little kids. Overall, the hotel is good. I would stay here again if I am going with a large group as I can rent a 2 or 3 bedroom place for few nights and not feel congested. However, if I am going along w/ my wife, I would stay at a different hotel as the cost would not be worth it.

Room Tip: The rooms on 2nd and 3rd floor had much larger balconies than the patio on the 1st floor.

Wow - Perfect setting - pool, dining room, and bar Great rooms - Clean, well-appointed and the most excellent service!! How good? I accidentally left two T-shirts in the dryer, had no idea I had left them... a member of the resort team came to the airport with the T-shirts. That just doesn't happen EVER!!! Other notes excellent evening activities and a wonderful kids club.

When I travel, I make it a point to visit different places and stay at different resorts/hotels however, after my stay at The Phoenix Belize...I plan to make this an annual trip (already planning a group trip July 2021). And when I return I will be staying at The Phoenix Belize! *** The Red Ginger Fruit Punch*** #Life From the moment we arrived at the San Pedro airport, The Phoenix Belize treated us like royalty. The welcome drink, the greetings with a smile, the tour of the property before we settled in our room, the atmosphere, the grounds, the staff, the service and the accommodations all deserve a 10 out of 5 stars!!! We stayed in a 3 bedroom ocean view condo and it did not disappoint. 5 ladies with more than enough room for us all. Tatiana and Rory...you both ROCK! In fact the entire staff was superb, I unfortunately cannot remember everyone's name to specifically thank them. My only regret is that we did not stay longer.
