Playa Del Sol Resort offers complimentary sightseeing, snorkeling and fishing tours to each guest group. During your stay we will make sure that you will snorkel at Hol Chan, Shark Ray Alley & Mexico Rocks, and catch some fish by the reef . The unique architecture, blending tropical charm, and Belizean craftsmanship, is designed to merge indoor and outdoor living into one seamless experience. All rooms have ceiling fans and are air-conditioned. A state-of-the-art kitchen makes cooking a pleasure with high-end appliances. Start the day by watching an amazing sunrise on the pier. Use our kayaks or pedal boards to paddle to the reef. You won't be disappointed. Discover the coast by bicycle. Hang out in our tiki bar for exotic drinks and local soul food or take a nap on the hammocks on our very private pier. During the day you will see exotic birds hunting on the flat water. You can fish snappers, tarpons and bonefish from the pier afternoon time. (PDS has a PADI Dive Center)

Any time we search for a vacation destination, we strive to find the perfect place and like to escape the hectic, busy lifestyle and find peace, quiet, serenity. Playa Del Sol was the right decision. Away from town, clean property right on the water with a pier, a beach bar, and a nice pool to relax in the heat. Good views for sunrises and star gazing. Modern and very inviting house with really good WIFI. Every amenity provided that you need for a great stay. From the moment we arrived at the airport we were taken care of. Iz was an incredible host. He went out of his way to answer our questions and make us comfortable. Very friendly and hard working staff that will help you with anything you need. You can book tours (like diving, zip lining, cave tubbing, Mayan ruins ) ahead of time, but I recommend working with Iz when you get there. Don't stress about everything needing to be planned out. We booked and planned our tour with Iz. We did the trip that includes the Mayan ruins at Xunantunich and the cave tubing and it was worth every penny! (Chosed the flight instead of water taxi from San Pedro to the mainland and it was totally worth the extra money! You can save so much time and energy especially on your way back) Ruins were so beautiful and you get to climb all the way up to the top. We had an amazing time zip lining in the jungle and Cave Tubing was the perfect way to cool off. The complimentary excursions to Hol Chan Shark/Ray Alley, Mexico rocks were amazing. We swam with nurse sharks, turtles, sting rays, moray eels, barracudas..the list goes on. We also went out fishing, caught lots of fish and had a beach barbecue all the way up north. Scenery, water and reef were breathtaking. Food and drinks at the bar were fantastic so, we do not need to cook for any meal or go to town. (They also serve at home if you just want to relax and enjoy the AC after a long day). They have 3 adorable pets; Rain, Panther and Whitey which were such an amazing characters and loveable. Would highly recommend this place for any family, couples, or friends, and definitely plan on coming back! Thank you for allowing us to make it our home for the week!!!

My wife and I got back from Playa Del Sol and Ambergris Caye a week ago and had a blast! First of all, Ambergris Caye is an incredible island! The people are amazing, very laid back and helpful, and the water is stunning. At Playa, we saw great and helpful people too. I have listed the pros and cons below: Pros: - Beautiful resort, very neat and tidy - Tiki Bar: the best food on the island with affordable prices. The staff is excellent that runs the bar and restaurant. - Playa has kayaks, snorkel & fishing gear available for guests to use. We caught several good-sized fish right from the pier. If you don't want to cook your own catch, the restaurant is happy to cook it for you. - There is a fresh fruit & vegetable vendor that comes by a few times a week - Great staff & owners - Quiet, very quiet (maybe a con if you don't like it like that) - Rooms are great. We stayed in an one bedroom and loved it. (We are planning to come back with our kids so we checked out the 2 bedroom unit) Our's had a great view of the ocean and it was the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes. - Iz, the owner; he can book you whatever you want. We found the prices to be pretty cheaper compared to TA search. He was the one we communicated with the most at Playa and he is simply the best, he made our experience ten times better. Definitely book their lobster hunting excursion. (David & Edgar, great tour guides) Cons: I don't have anything bad to say about the resort, but just one thing to consider if you are party people: - It's remote. There is a road to get there but it takes about 30 mins by golf cart. (maybe 15 miles an hour?) Make sure you stock on food ahead of time. Willbert picked us up from the San Pedro airport and took us grocery shopping. Make a note to visit Tranquility Bay and Secret Beach. Taking the golf cart to these places made for really fun and cheap excursions. Overall If you're looking for some private time and tranquility then this is the place! We were very happy with our stay and hope to come back with our 4 kids!

Disappointed with property as seagrass which has been there for past 6 months smells like a sewer. You won’t be able to sit outside or do any activities due to the stench. We stayed in 2 bedroom house which all bedrooms are upstairs. Shower has salt water: bar is small and dirty; restaurant is minimal; site is 10 miles from San Pedro; very isolated; golf cart rental is old and needs tires; replacement towels were disgusting and smelled like mildew; left 3 days early and checked in to another hotel. Owner says he’s an alcoholic and it shows. Seagrass has been around property for past 6 months so not sure why any owner would ethically rent this place.

We stayed at Playa Del Sol with our two sons. I would say that this place is amazing. It is on the north side of the island which is more secluded and quiet. Iz is a great host and very friendly. He provided us all the helpful information about everything to see and to do. We rented one of the 2 bedroom units. The house is spacious, very clean and well equipped. All the rooms have AC. The open kitchen and living room were perfect for the family time. They have a private pier with hammocks where we spent a great amount of time. The pool was the perfect way to cool off and relax after the boat trips. There is a bar on site which they serve lunch and dinner. We enjoyed our dinners at the bar mostly. Fernando, the bartender is such a nice guy. He made us delicious cocktails. Food was amazing. Our boys loved the tacos and nachos. The biggest catch point for us was the complimentary boat excursions. We went to snorkeling and fishing. Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley were amazing. Great snorkeling area with beautiful corals, sharks, rays, and both large and small fishes. Boys swam with the nurse sharks and rays. One of a lifetime experiance! We rented one of their golf carts and went to Secret Beach which is on the way to town, west side of the island. Had a great time there. Very calm water and great area for swimming. They have couple of bar/restaurants next to each other with good food and on the water tables. We also went to town one day and walked around. Small town and was kind of very busy with many tourists and golf carts. Dinned at Caliente restaurant. Highly recommend to everyone. The entire Playa Del Sol staff was lovely. They took excellent care of us and pampered our every need. We had such a great time at Playa Del Sol. Thanks again for a memorable vacation!
