I genuinely enjoyed staying at the Merry Acres Inn. Their rooms are great; they give great free breakfast; they have a mini bar behind the registration area that is quaint; they even give you a free drink everyday. I was a traveling nurse and got a good rate; the rates are not bad anyway. The people in the area come to the bar and you meet very nice people. They have two restaurants in the area that will deliver food to the bar when you order and the bar also has great food. Great experience!!!! People in registration are very nice and accomodating. By the way, it is very close to the hospital and other businesses.
I've stayed here a couple of times and found it to be comfortable. They give you a free welcome drink at the attached bar, Manor House, where the staff is friendly and the mostly local crowd is fun. The wifi works well and the breakfast is pretty good.
An older motel, but my room was nicely appointed, well maintained, and spotless. At $89/ night I thought it represented a solid value. The free cooked, hot breakfast was a great touch. They also offer a free shuttle service to several of the local restaurants that they own. The front desk staff were both pleasant and efficient. I would certainly recommend it.
Merry Acres Inn is a motel (not an inn) built in the 1950s in Albany. While there have been periodic attempts to update the property, the guestrooms are dated and are inferior to what one would expect for the room rates. Specifically, the bathrooms are small, dark, and could use a thorough cleaning. The door to our room was old, with chipped wood and chipped paint. The furnishings are dated and tired. Merry Acres can no longer compete with newer chain properties like Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express, located just down the road. Positives: common areas (pool, bar, office) are well maintained and pleasant. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Given the history of Merry Acres, I sincerely hope that the owners will soon engage in a thorough updating of the property, especially the guestrooms and baths. For $150/night, guests have a right to a modern, clean and comfortable room. …
That motel was clearly built in the 50s. But the property is well-maintained and unique. Bathroom was dated but Air-conditioner worked well, bed was comfortable. The main house contains administration offices and a quaint pub. They offer one free drink when you stay and give a free breakfast the next morning. There’s a gym next-door and the time I was there they had live music on the balcony of the Bar. I would stay again if I was in the area.
