My family had a lovely stay here over the 4th of July holiday. This is a really beautiful property and the staff goes out of its way to please. There are lots of socially distanced activities that we enjoyed (canoeing, hiking, frisbee golf, animals). Special kudos to Shelby, the marketing director, who went out of her way to make sure my family had a distanced outdoor table because of my concerns about covid. Thanks to her, we were able to safely enjoy our first meal out in many months! She really went above and beyond. My biggest complaint is that after touting its covid safety measures and telling us upon booking that pool reservations would be limited to 50 people per time slot, it turns out that they allowed 90 people at a time. That means every single lounge chair was occupied and social distancing in the pool or on the pool deck was impossible. My kids had a tantrum because it was a dangerous situation and I made them leave during one of our reserved times. Regardless of what the state allows, I think the resort should take greater steps to protect its guests by limiting pool numbers. Another minor criticism is that food options (while delicious) are limited, especially for vegetarians. A broader range of menu options would be nice. But overall, a great experience and we will be back!

Thank you for sharing your feedback and it was a pleasure to meet you personally during your visit. We are very happy to read of your enjoyment of the varous outdoor activities that we offer, and that you enjoyed your outdoor dining experience. (We will certainly pass your comments along regarding more vegetarian options.) Please note that we are in fact reducing the capacities at the pool to below the current requirements based upon monitoring the situation as it is today to provide more space than is required. We appreciate your patience as we all navigate the dynamics of the current scenario, and do look forward to welcoming your family again.

It is hard to believe that this Resort is less than 30 minutes from our house. Everything there is just so charming. Everyone is helpful and seems to enjoy being there as much as we do. Great relaxing time, just what we needed.

We love Barnsley Gardens, and always have memorable stays with family and friends. No complaints. The pace is relaxing, yet there is enough action to satisfy everyone. Dog friendly! The salt water pool is refreshing.

Family Friendly! Our family of all ages enjoyed our brief stay very much! We would recommend Barnsley Gardens to other families and we hope to return in the future. The weather presented a challenge, but the grounds are so well maintained that it was not an inconvenience.

This was our first time back at Barnsley Resort since 2012 and it was wonderful, so relaxing. The new hotel is top-notch, clean, comfortable, and the rooms are on par with the Ritz Lake Oconee (showers are bigger at Barnsley). The improvements throughout the property are evident, and the landscaping is beautifully maintained. Service was outstanding and friendly at the hotel, pool, Woodlands Grill, Dugans, and Sporting Club. Food at the Woodlands Grill was delicious. The staff wore masks, and indoor areas are marked for social distancing. Reservations were required at the pool to limit the number of guests, but that wasn't a problem when we were there as it wasn't crowded. The only areas for improvement we saw were minor: offer more food choices and a better map of the walking trails. Our return to Barnsley was so positive that we enthusiastically recommended it to our friends and they already made reservations.
