From check in to departure, the staff was amazing. Waitstaff in the restaurant were personal and friendly! Our 8 kids and 8 adults found time to be together and, when needed, time to be alone! Kayaking, swimming, golf, horseback riding, fishing, hiking, house board games and an amazing museum full of Civil War history ! The Adelaide House was spacious... More

We have been frequent guests of Barnsley Resort for many years. I never imagined I would give them a less than stellar review...but the time has come. In a nutshell, it does not match up to other upscale resorts we travel to and the price continues to rise. We always stay in a cottage, and booked two for our recent... More

Barnsley Resort is one of those romantic, Southern destinations that allows one to forget current events, recharge, and remember why we all work so hard. Our visit was tremendous. The staff consistently demonstrates exceptional client service perhaps better than any other resort in the US. The golf course (Fazio) is both fair and challenging with frankly mind-boggling greens. The grounds... More

My husband and I booked a last minute stay at Barnsley Resort for our 20 year anniversary. The food was superb. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed touring the gardens/ruins and learning about the history. The fire pit was the highlight of an evening of relaxation. We thoroughly enjoyed speaking with other visitors, as well as, employees.... More

Even though Barnsley Gardens is off the beaten path it is well worth the journey. The resort is very beautiful place with small cottage-like accommodations. Each " room" has a large bedroom along with a large living-room that has a working fireplace. The furnishing are very well-kept and comfortable. The bathrooms are divided in a toilet and sink room and... More

Quiet. Relaxing. Safe. Spa was superb and the food is top notch. Kudos to the chef. All who work here are very friendly and welcoming. One of the nicest places I've stayed. A bit off the main road but well worth it. Pool is wonderful and. clean. Thank you

The old Barnsley Mansion and surrounding gardens are definitely worth a visit and you don't have to stay at the resort to visit (although there is a modest fee to enter the gardens). If you are lucky, you will get to meet the museum director Clent Coker, who grew up in the area and knew the Barnsley family and is... More

Stayed recently for a birthday weekend. There is a lot to like about the resort. First off, we are not golfers so nothing to say about that. On the positive side, the food at both restaurants was better than we had expected. The menu was sufficiently broad and everything we tried was at least "pretty good" and some of it... More

The Barnsley Gardens Resort is a lovely property and if you are a golfer, the course is beautiful. Other facilities include a nice pool, a beer garden (open seasonally) and a very nice restaurant with a menu with sufficient variety to please most folks. You can pay as little as $225 for a room or significantly more depending upon your... More

This resort is beautiful and very secluded. The golf course is amazing. There's lots of old history and even an original house on the property known as 'the ruins'. Lots of walking places. Restaurant food very good. Rooms very clean and spacious. The staff is very accommodating and super friendly. Not recommended if you want shopping. However, Rome is only... More
