Property's Favorite Review
• Reservation process Easily reserved our RV stay online and there were many site choices to choose from. We chose a pull-thru site, but there are different options, including back-in sites, as well as “buddy sites” and Tiki hut sites (those include a tiki hut, grill, bar area, tv, sink, fan). We put a deposit down online of about 50% and then 14 days before arrival we paid the balance in full. They invited us to their Facebook group once we had reserved so that we could follow along with current events at the resort. Be sure to check the current specials for discounts! • Arrival Approaching the resort, visually it was amazing with bright colors and stunning landscaping! We were welcomed at the gate, given a packet of information pertaining to our stay and wristbands that we were required to wear while inside the resort. An escort then guided us to our site. • Site The site was wide, neat, tidy, and landscaped very well. The “grass” is artificial turf. The pull-thru was paved and quite long so we did not have any issues with our truck fitting while unhooked like at some parks, and the patio was pavers and included a nice picnic table. Remember this is Florida, so there ARE fire ants. We forgot to pack the spray, unfortunately, so had a few issues until we ran to the closest store and bought some (resort store did not have ant spray, but they may have just been all out of it). ***pay attention to the wind where your awnings are concerned and be ready to roll it in for those pop-up storms. After we got all set up, we went out to explore. • Aesthetics This park is absolutely beautiful. We truly felt as though we were on an island somewhere. It is SO clean, so well landscaped, SO quiet and peaceful. All around are areas to relax, enjoy friends and family or simply be alone with a good book. • Amenities There are two places for food located by the main pool, sharing the same order window. The food was good. Try something with the smoked pork as they smoke it right in the parking lot behind the restaurant and it is very good. The bar has everything you could want, and all drinks were made well (aka, not weak LOL). During happy hour, drinks are about $5-6 bucks. We enjoyed that a few times! Everything is billed to your site via your wristband. The pools are spotless and beautiful. They are designed for ANYONE to use, and it was nice that from children to the elderly, safety was designed for all. The waterslide is fast and there is quite a plunge at the end, so watch the kiddos on the first few tries. Hubs enjoyed it quite few times LOL. There is a beautiful playground adjacent to the children’s pool, HOWEVER, we do have to mention that it had a turf ground that was SO hot to the touch and the slides were roasting hot. While we ourselves did not bring any children, we did notice people taking a child in and immediately right back out; it was simply too hot. Maybe some sail shades for that area would be great! Also sail shades over sections of the children’s pool would be awesome too. The sun was so intense for them, but that children’s pool is so perfect otherwise! Plenty of seating. Close to restrooms and separate (fenced) from the adult pool. Every morning I used the gym. It was amazingly clean, machines and equipment all in good working order and there were TV’s, water bottle refill station and the AC was working great (yay). The only thing I would add is a handwashing sink and/or some way to wipe down a machine after I used it. I felt bad leaving it sweaty. Typically, at other gyms I have used there is a spray bottle and paper towels to wipe down. Other than that, I loved that I did not have to change my daily workout routine at all! And the view of the beautiful pool from the treadmills was fabulous! We need to stress that while this park is “dog friendly”, it is very, very hot for their paws. The only living grass is over by the dog park but walking the dogs to the grass during the midday is simply not a good option for their paws. We brought a stroller, but for big dogs this may not work. Maybe a wagon? Or a golf cart. The park is huge and is still doing so many upgrades that we feel it could support maybe THREE dog parks in different areas. Maybe then no one would have to take their fur babies too far? It is Florida; it is HOT. We want to mention that we did see one guest make quite a stink over having to wear his wristband to get service at the bar. It is important to remember that this place is a RESORT. The security of this park and the amenities are FOR THE PAYING GUESTS. It is no issue to just wear the band and realize that this is what makes it stay so exclusive and nice. ***There IS an arcade but it was closed, as well as the second tiki bar for our entire 5-day stay. Also, we had taken advantage of a “special” pricing deal, but in doing so did not realize that there were no Food Trucks during our stay and the activities were greatly reduced due to school being back in session. So, if you are counting on eating resort food/food trucks during your stay, be sure to bring food for cooking just in case! • Departure We departed exactly at 11:00 am. You are not allowed to use any amenities after your reservation has expired. If, for some reason, you do so, we were told by management in the store that your card will be charged for an additional night, SO DON’T DO THAT.

My family and I stayed in one of the cabanas while my parents were at a tiki RV site. Our first impression when being escorted to our cabana was great. We loved the layout and size of the entire resort. When we entered our cabana, everything looked clean until I turned to shut the front door and noticed smashed bugs all over the wall, ceiling and pantry area. As we walked through the cabana without our shoes on, it quickly became apparent that the floors were still dirty since the bottom of our feet were black. I then began looking around to see spider webs with spiders in all of the windows. I then started to wonder if the linens and bathroom had been cleaned or not. The cabana we rented for the week did have a very nice view of the eagles nest which was enjoyed by my entire family. The splash pad, pools and playground were throughly enjoyed by my children as well as the donut shop and activities that were listed on the app. My entire family felt like they spent a lot of thought and money on certain things but went very cheap on others. The beds in the cabana are some of those items. The “master” bed was on a cheap metal frame with a very cheap mattress. The bed shakes every time someone moves in bed. The small bed in the hallway was very hard due to the very thin mattress that was on it and even my 7 year old commented on how uncomfortable it was to sleep on. Although the pools, splash pad and view were nice we felt like the cons definitely out weighed the pros especially for the cost.

We rented a cabin for 5 nights just to check out the location. the park is very well maintained and is actually very quiet considering the number of sites. the only disappointed I could say is that we rented an efficiency cabin and even though in the description it said full kitchen, it did not have a stove of any kind. I assumed full kitchen meant full kitchen. Be aware that if you want a stove, do not rent an efficiency cabin. If we come back next year, I will renting a different unit.

With great regret and sadness, and something that I thought I would never have to do, but I feel the need to write a negative review on Camp Margaritaville. We have been coming to Camp Margaritaville for the last four years as snow birds and were here as they opened their gates, then called Cabana Club. We called this place our second home. Unfortunately, our stay this winter, I need to address some concerns. One, and most importantly, our granddaughter was visiting and during the kids’ activities on The Greens in the evening, the young worker sent our granddaughter back to her camper to get her wristband, which had fallen off earlier. When we returned with her back to The Greens, and confronted this worker, he indicated that he would always give kids a new wristband and write their site number on it. He indicated the day before, management told him do not do this anymore and they need to go get theirs. I believe the person in management, which made this decision, needs to be informed on the proper procedure and the possible dangers sending a child in the dark, back to their camper alone. Secondly, each year Camp Margaritaville’s rates have increased, as to be expected, but rates for next year went up exceptionally more. We expressed our concern and were hopeful that loyal and dedicated returnees, with long term stays, would be offered some type of a discount. Unfortunately, nothing was offered. With this being said, another second home will be found. Leaving on a high note, the grounds crew are totally amazing and keeps everything looking beautiful and clean. We have never seen such dedication and hard working men and women and the ground crew all deserve to be recognized and praised.

I'm deeply sorry to hear about your recent experience at Camp Margaritaville. We genuinely value the feedback of all our guests, especially long-standing ones like you. The safety and well-being of all our guests, particularly children, is our top priority. I sincerely apologize for the incident with your granddaughter. We will review our wristband policy, especially in situations where children might be asked to return to their campers alone. With regards to the rate increases, we understand your concerns. Our intent is to constantly improve our services and facilities, but we also acknowledge the importance of maintaining affordability for our loyal guests. Your comments on this matter will be taken into serious consideration. Despite these issues, I'm glad to know that our grounds crew made a positive impression. They are indeed hardworking and dedicated, and your praise will surely boost their morale. We're saddened by your decision to find another second home. We hope that we may have the chance to welcome you back in the future if circumstances change. Thank you once again for your honest feedback. Camp Margaritaville Auburndale

Absolutely a beautiful place with lots of amenities. The worker bees do a great job of running the kids activities (although one of them sent my middle school aged daughter back to our camper in the dark by herself to get her wristband. Doesn’t have children. Thus, didn’t see the potential danger this exposed her to). The folks that are in charge of cleaning of the grounds work their tails off. That’s where the pleasantries stop. A lady in the office is extremely rude. I won’t mention her name. I wasn’t a happy customer. Her management team has raised rates every year. Ok fine. However, we didn’t book for 2025 nor will we because they raised my monthly rate by 29% without any whatsoever explanation. That was after raising rates in 2022-2023. Oh and then they had the audacity to automatically charge my credit card for the electric I used. Yes I owe it. No problem. I stayed a month. But don’t just charge my credit card without my permission. This particular lady wouldn’t let me finish. Kept interrupting me and proceeded to hang up on me. Tried calling back. Left a voicemail. No returned call. Who knows what their agenda is here. I wasn’t allowed to speak with upper management who actually make the decisions. Good luck staying there. It is a beautiful place. If you go don’t try to winter there or stay for longer than a few days. Management seems like they want to turn over the renters more so than making us happy. Management runs it like a business, which they should but they are so out of touch with the folks that help pay their bills.

We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered during your stay and regret that we did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your compliments regarding the amenities and the hard work of our team members. However, we are deeply sorry to hear about the unpleasant interaction you had with one of our office team members. We hold ourselves to a high standard of customer service and have shared your comments with the appropriate departments. Regarding the rate increase and the automatic charge for electric usage, we understand your concerns and apologize for any inconvenience this caused. We strive to be transparent in our pricing policies, and we regret that we fell short in providing a satisfactory explanation in this instance. Your feedback will be shared with our management team for consideration. We value your patronage and regret that your experience did not reflect the level of service we aim to provide. What an amazing few days at this RV resort… from the amenities to the staff everything was PERFECT! My daughter had so much fun there was so much to do! The band at night and the bar was great!! I can’t say enough about the staff from Ryan in activities to the bar and restaurant staff they were amazing ! One of the days there they were short staffed and they were all pitching in and helping out where they could. I saw the manger playing musical hoops with the kids to helping in the restaurant! Everyone was helpful, friendly and respectful despite being short staffed… the resort is immaculate and clean. We didn’t want to leave!!! Amazing, friendly and family oriented resort that you will want to visit over and over!! Can’t wait to return!! Thank you to all the staff that make that resort amazing!

We enjoyed our stay! We had some technical issues with our check in but the reservation desk and manager were quick to resolve the issues, wanting to ensure we had a great stay. We loved the quality landscaping - great flowers, crushed shell rv sites and palm trees throughout. The theming was great and quality amenities (free mini golf at a challenging course!), but it was the friendly staff that made our stay great. Everyone from the reservations, store, bar and landscaping staff were warm and welcoming. We can’t wait for our next visit!

Check in was super easy because I did it online 2 days before, Well run, well maintained park. I had no bad experiences with any staff we encountered. Stayed two nights only. The lack of shade made for a few miserable hours and our A/C struggled in the heatwave. This was the only drawback but understandable as it is a new compound with new landscaping. Although it is beautiful landscaping and they did a good job using the plant life to separate the sites I didn’t see much planted for shade. It is beach like but unfortunately Auburndale is no where near the beach, so there are no sea breezes. Even the fake turf grass at our site was too hot to walk on and the pavers. Again that advantage was a clean RV. Didn’t have to sweep at all. 😂. As other reviewers have noted they cater to families so if you are bothered by kids just having a good time— this is not your place. I would probably visit again in the fall or winter. It is pricey but I felt we got our money’s worth. The camp store was very nice but you are not far from Wally World if you need a lot of groceries. Shout out to the “ranger” who came with we called at checkout. We could not get our water hose disconnected and needed pliers. He was there within 8 minutes of calling. Didn’t get to try the food but the drinks were always good.
