One Ocean Resort & Spa garners consistently high praise for its attentive service and pristine cleanliness, as guests appreciate the personalized care and spotless surroundings. Its beachfront location is a highlight, offering easy access to local attractions and dining options. The range of amenities, including a spa and pool, also receives favorable mentions. While the rooms are generally found to be comfortable, with ocean views, some guests suggest they could benefit from renovation. Criticism surfaces around value, with a sentiment that the pricing is steep for the experience offered. Nonetheless, the resort's homely atmosphere and family-friendly vibe are well-regarded.

We stayed here for our wedding night two years ago and thought it fun to return to celebrate my birthday. One Ocean inquired if our stay was for a special occasion and we volunteered it was for a birthday celebration.

The property is on the beach and among Beaches Town Center where a variety of shops and restaurants are located. The hotel is in such a place in that you can valet the car and not need it until you check out. The lobby and common areas exude elegance.

Check in was speedy and touchless options were available using an app on my smartphone.

Arriving at the room we were greeted by a cute birthday cake towel display, a birthday card and a small box of delicious chocolates. Very thoughtful. The room itself was an oceanfront corner room which offered exceptional views of the ocean and the shoreline north.

Obviously the hotel was complying with COVID mitigation requirements. Housekeeping has been suspended but a text to the Front Desk quickly dispatched housekeeping to provide clean towels and replenish the in-room coffee supplies.

In addition to immediate access to the beach for walking, an outdoor pool is available (we did not use it but I understand it is heated). The hotel also offers beach cruiser bikes for patrons to borrow for a couple hours. We took advantage of that for long rides up and down the coast.

We enjoyed fine dining at the hotel's Azurea Restaurant and had cocktails at the adjacent Azurea lounge. Those reviews separately but both are top flight.

The room was comfortable the quiet and we slept well. We heard no noise other than the surf.

Every staff from the valet crew, front desk, and others greeted us with a friendliness second to none.

All in all, it was a wonderful getaway and we look forward to returning soon.

I believe people read trip advisor reports to understand the big picture of the good the bad and the ugly. It’s easy to extoll the virtues of this hotel, you can read that in other reviews, But why didn’t I give this hotel 5 stars?

It seems unnecessary to force valet parking. Charge the $25 anyway if you must but let guests keep their keys for the convenience- the car parking is right outside the door of the hotel. The resort fee is a typical add on per night, but I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels that have a pool, gym, towels for the beach and a bicycle you can use that don’t charge you this fee - in Vegas maybe, but in quaint small Neptune beach? Arriving with heavy suitcases you get to pay to valet your car, pay your resort fee, but no one helps to get your suitcases into two different elevators to get them to your room! No daily service (due to covid) so why not waive (or reduce) the resort fee due to lack of services until you can resume those guest services? The hotel is saving payroll on housekeeping and cleaning material costs why not pass it on with reduced room rates or reduced service fee. Parking lot was packed so clearly they’re busy. There’s what management can do, and then there’s what they should do!

Ok, enough of the negative. The rooms are comfortable although bathrooms are tiny. Big modern safe in room along with nice iron and ironing board. Chaise lounge chair is a great way to watch the large tv. View of the ocean is lovely from the top (8th) floor. Best thing about this hotel is it’s location. Lots of super restaurants and bars and shops to enjoy.

Setting aside my gripes, it’s a very nice hotel that you’re sure to enjoy!

The hotel had this really great corner location with two rooms that adjoined through a common door to make it private from the other rooms in the hallway, I've never seen anything like this and we loved it for our kids to be in a different room but still connected to us through an entrance way. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable and had everything we needed. Muhammad was our housekeeper and he came to check on us each day, providing impeccable service with a smile! He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. The restaurant was fabulous, everyone was so friendly and helpful. Most of all, the COVID measures, although lacking out in the community, were well maintained inside of the hotel. They have free bikes you can take out to explore, and nice chairs and umbrellas on the beach.

We had a fantastic time our first time here and are back for a second trip. This time we are informed the morning after we check in there will not be any cleaning of the rooms to “keep us safe”. What a crock. No one mentioned this when we made the rez, checked in or paid the normal rate. They are blatantly using covid to cut their costs, cut their workers hours and piss everyone off. We are at the beach with three rooms and a bunch of kids so you know that means wet clothes, lots of towels and sand everywhere. We need new sheets and vacuuming - I always leave a tip for the cleaning crew and heck I would pay extra to get my rooms cleaned but it’s not an option because some genius decided to save money. Well it will cost them. We will be going to Amelia island from now on. Wonder what else we will find tacked onto our bill and what other services will be denied over the coming days?

When I learned that Florida was reopening I decided to take a quick beach getaway. I chose One Ocean Resort because it was on the beach and near local restaurants. The restaurant and spa were not open due to the coronavirus. Also there was not any housekeeping services for stays less than 3 days. Surprisingly the pool was open and there was no social distancing. Although overall I enjoyed the stay, I was disappointed that only one elevator was running so attempting to social distance was impossible, so bring a face mask. Also the rooms are starting to show their age. Things like the mattresses should be replaced. Ours was dated 2012. The bathroom caulk could be replaced. Windows were cloudy/dirty. When I visit hotels I always disinfect my room and especially now during the pandemic. I noticed quite a bit of dust on the desk, night stands, tv credenza, and coffee shelf. So it is my best guest that the room had not been sanitized recently. Because my stay was so short and the elevator was not working, the hassle of a room change or waiting for someone to clean the room was not worth it. I had thought ahead and brought bleach wipes to wipe down all the surfaces. Overall this is a great location, but definitely not a 4 star hotel. I would give it a solid 3 star hotel.

We stayed at the One Ocean Resort the night before the Daytona 100 Ultra Marathon, which was the "sponsor" hotel for the race. We got an alert that our room was ready at 8:00am, and arrived around 3:30pm. Using a phone app to check in, we went directly to the room, and used an electronic key to enter. After several tries with the app, it finally worked and the door opened. There were no sheets on the bed, a pile of dirty sheets thrown on the chair, no coffee amenities, towels, etc. It was obvious this room wasn't ready, nor had been cleaned. We notified the front desk and they switched us to another room, and a manager met us at the door with card keys to ensure we could get in. The room was ready and we were offered a small box of 4 chocolates "to make it right". We were also given a coupon "for a meal" in the hotel restaurant. A closer look showed the coupon was actually for $10 off AFTER spending $40. So not much of a gesture after being given a dirty room, especially with COVID concerns.

We were also charged a $25 resort fee, although we aren't really sure what we got for that, since we were only there to sleep before the race the next morning. In addition, there is no on property parking. Valet parking is the only option, at a charge of $25/day. Don't really like the nickel and diming they do as extra revenue.

We were told the hotel was "historic" which is why you have to take one elevator from the lobby to the first floor, then go down a hall for the elevators to the remaining floors. "historic" really means run down. The rooms are dated, with mildew on the shower tiles, deteriorated grout, and other aged features.

In our opinion, based on the level of service we received and conditions of the room, this hotel is not worth the price or extra costs.

We’ve stayed at One Ocean before and were pleased with our visit. However, our most recent experience fell short. It started before we arrived. We attempted to call the hotel to clarify some details with our reservation and were on hold so long we just gave up. Not a good sign.

We arrived to the hotel and noted the customary $25 per day resort fee and $25 per day valet. First, valet is billed as a luxury service, but frankly I don’t want a teenager driving my car. I have known numerous cases and heard from insiders that many valets see it as an opportunity to “try out” a cool car. Second, the resort fee had several limitations giving the hotel’s COVID precautions. No daily housekeeping, no room snacks or waters, no morning coffee. It seems the resort fee only allowed access to bike rentals, which were used up when I saw another couple try to use them. One would think, given the limitations of what they could offer due to COVID that they might include other extras. Nope, they charged $30 for two chairs and an umbrella. We knew they would charge this, but seemed surprising after seeing how little the resort fee provided. Why not just waive the resort fee if you are unable to provide your typical services? Seems like this hotel is using COVID as an excuse to provide poor service with the same high charge.

When booking this hotel one needs to add $50 to the rate to determine the value because nothing is really provided for the $50 that wouldn’t be included at other hotels.

"One Ocean" Beautiful hotel, with perfect location and wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. Our valet, Luter, was friendly, helpful and unloaded all our luggage after our long drive, before parking our car. The lobby had an upscale feel, beautiful decor, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. At the front desk, Deborah, immediately made us feel welcome and continued to go above and beyond to make our stay fantastic! Once in our room, she was prompt to accommodate our request when we called down to ask her for more towels and pillows etc., she had them delivered right away. We stopped back by, the front desk to ask Deborah for recommendations for nice places to eat, drink and entertainment, within walking distance. She gave us several great places to choose from, all just a five minute walk away, which was incredibly convenient! And, the hotels bar and restaurant are also fantastic, with great food, the wait staff is excellent, with a beautiful ocean view, we loved it!.
Our stay was outstanding, I will always choose this hotel when in Atlantic beach. The service was friendly, courteous and more than accommodating. The location is perfect, every staff member we encountered from valet, check-in host/hostess, wait staff, bartenders, room service, cleaning staff were delightful. Thank you! Thank you!
We will always reccomend your beautiful hotel and look forward to our next stay.❤

Great location and the resort is very clean. Rooms Are also clean, but a little dated as you can come to expect with most ocean front resorts in this area. Our issues had nothing to do with the property nor the rooms but more with some of the staff members.

One of the nights During our stay, our group decided to go by the fireplace and have a few drinks. Not knowing the policy and laws about bringing our own alcoholic beverages ( Which we take full responsibility for) To this area of the resort, we were approached by Kendall. Her tone from the beginning was very confrontational and not service oriented, in fact without introducing herself she proceeded to tell my wife that what she was doing was a “ Huge no no”. She continued to reprimand her and went as far as to tell her the cost of the $5,000 fine we would receive by bringing alcohol to this area. We fully understood and we were willing and able to comply with the loads and discard our personal drinks, but she refused to stop there. She continued to reprimand my wife and when as far as to call her “sweetheart“ and to take the drinks upstairs “right now” In front of a group of 10 people. That night I brought the alcohol beverages back to our room and proceeded to speak with a night manager with glasses standing by the empty restaurant doing nothing to help his staff . The manager never followed up with me about the confrontation nor the discussion he had with his employee, it was not until I ran into him in the lobby when I asked for the employees name without telling me if he had addressed it or not. The embarrassment to be reprimanded by an employee of a location in front of 10-15 people in which we are paying customers is completely unacceptable, Kendall gave the vibe that she was Talking to children and that she was “the boss” If this was such an issue it should have been addressed by the manager on site for the evening in a professional and adult manner.

Be Aware that some of the employees are overworked In that shows in some of their attitudes, mostly at the bar. Our reservation at the restaurant for dinner one of the nights was pushed up an hour because of double booking, but when we arrived for dinner we were the ONLY group of people in the entire restaurant. Not sure what the true story behind it is but it certainly did not fit the narrative when we received the call to change the time of our dinner. Overall the Resort is a good experience, especially Ethan and the three gentlemen that assist you with your umbrellas at the beach. They work hard in a real hot environment and go above and beyond to take care of you. The individuals at the front desk are also very accommodating with any request you may have. Some of the people in our group were serviced by the pool and gave good reviews on the food and drink service.

I hope management reviews Kendall’s attitude towards guest no matter what they are doing. She is not a part of the management team at this location and hopefully will never be due to the lack of communication skills and lack of professionalism.

Very average as far as a resort is concerned. It’s more like an above average hotel but with a $25 resort fee that provides little to nothing. You get free keurig coffee in your room and bottled water. Oh and free WiFi. What hotel doesn’t include that? I upgraded to a deluxe room to have at least a partial view of the ocean, but unfortunately the view of the roof of the convention center didn’t make for that great of a view. The plugs on the desk didn’t work. So when I worked on my laptop, I had to go use a plug by the bed. The pool chairs are extremely uncomfortable. There’s a bar that hits you right in the middle of your back. I’m wondering if there are supposed to be cushions on top of the wicker and they just weren’t out? You do get free use of two bikes for two hours as part of your resort fee. We thought that would be fun. But then when we went down to use them found that you couldn’t ride them on the beach? Are you kidding? I guess I’m just used to Daytona and new Smyrna beach where they allow bikes on the beach.

Thank you for your constructive commentary, we appreciate your feedback and are sorry you felt the value was not up to par. To clarify for other TA members, our bikes are not 'beach bikes' as the sand often is not hard packed conducive for riding, they are intended for riding on the scenic local beach area. Our team takes great pride in our hotel, along with the services we provide and we thank you for your stay.

To complete the circle - we stayed there, and they DO NOT have the Docent Service any more....un-amazingly - they also did not lower their prices due to the reduction in services (no more free morning coffee, no more stocked fridge, housekeeping not done every day, etc).

Yes, it is an excellent full breakfast with many options. We usually get lunch from the pool bar menu which is also quite good, but typical hotel lunch prices There are many good restaurants within easy walking distance and at a range of prices. My family always walks to one of those spots for dinner.
