I'm a Northwest Florida native and if "Old Florida" is what you're looking for, you've found it here at the Apalachicola River Inn. This Inn is ideal for the traveler looking for the experience of an old port town with an emphasis on fishing. If you must have granite surfaces and perfectly manufactured air, then you may want to try... More

I didn't stay at the inn. I will say it is river front. I peeked in a few rooms. What I saw would resemble a roadside motel. Their restaurant CAROLINE was recommended by locals for a great breakfast. I can say the BREAKFAST was fantastic. I had a traditional American breakfast of bacon, eggs, grits, and toast. It was great.... More

I recently had the opportunity to stay in Suite 19 at the Apalachicola River Inn. When I first arrived, I was not sure what I had booked myself into, but the front desk attendant was absolutely lovely and very helpful. Once I got into my suite, I was pleasantly surprised at how large the rooms are. Do realize that this... More

Fresh clean cozy rooms .. on the water watched, boats, dauphin's etc. service friendly. Breakfast comes with price of room above expectations top service what a way to start a day! Handicap bathroom was not top of the line just barely manageable .. I would sacrifice the ease and comfort of a more accommodating accessible bathroom .. for the perks... More

We stayed at the Apalachicola River Inn for the Oyster Festival weekend- what a great town and fabulous oysters. The Apalachicola river was literally right outside our door. Make sure you get room #4-10 to get the best river view. If you want a private balcony, you will have to get an upstairs room. We like the lower rooms, closer... More

Dear barbarah, Thanks for taking the time to review our inn. We are celebrating our 25th year as owners of this wonderful inn. The inn is built on ancient cotton era docks and is literally built in the water. Drive to the river, see our rooms. Step out of the inn in to down town Apalachicola. Oh yeah we got the... More

Excellent place! If your looking for fancy then this is not for you! The staff was great!! The rooms are cozy and clean. It's right on the water and takes you back in time. The free breakfast is the best and more than you can eat! Better than I expected and better than any continental breakfast. I had a great... More

I love this place, we have stayed here many times over the past 5 years. It's close to everything. The breakfast that comes with the stay is pretty darn good, sometimes the service leaves a little to be desired. My only comment would be, I wish there were bars in the bathtub. As an older person, it would make taking... More

First off this is NOT a bed and breakfast. It is a hotel that gives you vouchers for their restaurant. The breakfast is good though. The room is right on the water but smells musty and the wind whistled through the room all night. The wind blew up in the bathroom somehow which really stank so had to keep door... More

I love this place. Yes, it is old and kind of ramshackle, but that just fits this town. The room was very clean and the bed was great. The views could not be better. So relaxing. Breakfast was really good and included in the price of the room. The bar upstairs is friendly and relaxed. The oyster bar restaurant is very... More

Cfrirohde, YOU GET IT. Thanks!! Yes our building is coastal board and batten cypress wood. It was and still is the building material of choice along the southern coast of the U.S. It weathers damp, salt environment well. We do not have a cookie cutter facility. We have a one of a kind historic "Old Florida" setting. We are celebrating... More
