Great B&B! Charming New England house - soooo historic New Englad!! Beautiful surroundings, cozy private rooms, nice amenities (ice water and hot tea upon arrival, wonderful deep bathrub with bath salts and interesting soaps!). Most important of all -- GREAT people! Enjoyed chatting with Marion and Jasmine and getting to know the pets. We stayed for one night because we were in transit but we had such a nice time, we're thinking of staying again just for fun sometime! Especially when we think about how they spoiled us with that amazing breakfast in the authentic historic dining room looking out over the barn and woods! You won't find better popovers! Overall, they specialize, and succeed, in warm hospitality. We totally 100% recommend staying here. Charming!

This was our last stop on a wonderful trip to Maine and Connecticut, and we are so glad to have found this place. This gorgeous pet friendly Bed and Breakfast is full of lovely tasteful decorative accents, the bed is deliciously comfortable and the breakfast is superb! The room has an independent entrance by a deck were the delicious breakfast is served in the morning at the time of your choice. In the back of the garden there’s a chicken coop and cute farm animals. We hope to go back soon!!

My girlfriend and I stayed at Henrietta House last week and hope to get back there again. Marian and Jasmine were gracious hosts, skilled at cooking gourmet breakfasts (from ingredients from their on-site farm animals and gardens) and tireless in ensuring our comfort. The house itself is beautiful; we stayed in the Henrietta Suite, which has its own 2nd floor deck entrance and overlooks the backyard/farm. I regret not having had more time to relax in the house or wander around outside. Fortunately, I did have enough time to meet Sunny, their ginger cat. I think that Marian and Jasmine have managed to train her because during our final breakfast, she jumped on my lap and purred as I ate. We were lucky to stay at Henrietta House with three lovely hosts.

It was so comfortable and so quiet. Loved the setting with the chickens and goats. Most of all loved all the things around from around the world. Having traveled a lot internationally we recognized so many things. The breakfast was unbelievable with everything home made or from local residents such as Queens Lace Marmalade. Where was the last topic had that???

The Henrietta House is a hidden treasure of northeast Connecticut. It’s a gentleman’s farm (should say gentlewoman’s) in Ashford, about 15 minutes from the UConn Storrs campus. The owner, Meriam, and her assistant, Jasmine, are congenial and accommodating hostesses. The home is an antique house (c.1720) which has been updated enough to keep you warm and cozy with all the modern conveniences but not enough to keep you from appreciating you are in a 300-year old building. The property abuts greenbelt land with trails through the woods which eventually link up to a large preserve owned by the Boy Scouts. The ladies raise goats, pigs and chickens along with gardens of edibles. While all the comfort and tranquility are enough to give it the highest recommendation, what keeps me coming back are the outstanding breakfasts. Meriam is not a cook; she is a chef. Using local, fresh ingredients, mostly from her own farm, she whips up scrumptious morning meals from traditional and original recipes.

A cozy place to stay while visiting a few friends in the area. All the charms of old New England homes + a delicious sustainable breakfast procured from her own farm or respected local farmers. I was even given a casual tour of the barn, got to feed the pigs leftover pumpkin, and watched her milk one of the goats. Hope to stay again next time I'm in the area!

I very much enjoyed my stay at Henrietta House. Everyone was very nice and welcoming, including Sunny the cat. The grounds are beautiful, with ample land, trees, flowers, and gardens. My room was beautifully decorated and comfortable, complete with an amazing bathroom sink. Coffee and breakfast were delicious. The bed was comfortable and sleep was great. I’m grateful to Marian, Jasmine and a third woman, I am not sure of her name, for making me feel so at home.

My girlfriend and I made a 2nd visit to Henrietta House when we were up in CT in February. (See my review from Sept. 2022 for our first stay.) This time we stayed in the Abigail room, and once again it was wonderful. Thankfully, Marian, Jasmine, and Sunny were still there. As was the case during our first visit, breakfast was delicious, Sunny (the cat) was friendly, and we can't wait to visit again.

What can I say…we were not even at the B&B yet and I received a welcoming text from Jasmine. Once we arrived, she warmly welcomed us with open arms. The room had everything one needs and then some. Breakfast was plentiful and yummy! Close to Uconn. Stay here!

We are very happy we chose Henrietta's. Beautiful accommodations in a 1700's home sensitively updated with full amenities. Great breakfast, scintillating conversation, extensive gardens with goats and chickens. Short drive to the University of Connecticut campus in Storrs.
