Couldn’t have asked for a better location ! Great park across the street and walked to everything. Road our bikes to basalt along the rio grande trail - beautiful w lunch at woodys. Loaded our bikes on the bus and rode back to aspen for free- the bus station is literally across the street from the hotel . Clean, breakfast ok, really well run and just felt safe. St Regis next door w a great bar. Book it !

I have always rented condos when traveling to Aspen but stayed at the Mountain Chalet Aspen on this trip and it made me sooooo happy. Staff is great, breakfast is awesome and the location can't be beat. Loved everything about my stay here. Highly recommend.

If you're seeking hoity toity digs then the Mountain Chalet is likely not for you. However if you're seeking genuine local character and great people, the Mountain Chalet is where you want to stay. The Mountain Chalet is a 60+ year family owned and operated ski lodge. The family is a pillar of the Aspen community. The lodge provides squeaky clean, quiet, comfortable, genuinely friendly, very reasonably priced, high quality accommodation. A wide variety of room options. Great hot, made-to-order full breakfast. The hot tub is clean, large, and actually HOT. The location can not be beat: ski-in/out, 3 minute walk to town center. The Mountain Chalet is the REAL DEAL. Period. GREAT PLACE !!!

When booking we checked out reviews and noted reviews were very good. We do not share the same view point. Yes, the location is great, but that is where it ends. The place is dated. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment. It was 2 rooms billed as an apartment. For the price we expected at least 4 stars...not a 1 or 2 star establishment. This place has not seen an update in over 4 decades. Furniture that was in disrepair and look like it came from a Value Village thrift shop. The dinning room table looks like it had been through a war and the chairs did not match and were not safe to sit on. The red velour curtains were icky. The bathrooms had been updated and were clean. The kitchen had more modern appliances but the kitchen itself had not seen a remodel...I'm thinking ever??? The carpets...well we would not walk barefoot on. Although there was 3 thermostats in the space, none seemed to work and the temperature was sweltering. I am shocked by some of the positive reviews...I can only imagine that we received the basement room that does not have the amenities as posibly the rest of the place does??? I am not sure we were at the same place as the other reviewers? We were disappointed and had hoped for better given the price!

Comfortable and clean room with plenty of space, friendly staff, great breakfast, near the bus to Aspen Highlands. If you're looking for moderately-priced accommodations and aren't expecting luxury, this is it. What a find!
