Visited The Little Nell in August. Felt incredibly safe at the hotel with social distancing respected. Our flight was late coming in from Denver and they made sure that we were able to have dinner at Ajax Restaurant The room itself is beautiful,so relaxing. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was perfect. We did a fly fishing trip with the hotel with Jason as our guide. He was fantastic. The hotel also have Audi E-Tron's to try out. We took one to the ghost town of Ashcroft outside Aspen which was a lot of fun, Twice daily housekeeping was amazing during the pandemic. The free snacks at the mini-bar is a great perk. Can't wait to go back.
Now I understand all the 5 star reviews. We had a wonderful time celebrating my husband's birthday here for the weekend. I wish we could have stayed longer. We brought our dog and he was treated like a king! His own bed and bowls, treats and even a souvenir leash. The bed was comfortable and our mountain view was great! We will definitely be back!
So after having bad service at Ajax tavern we moved downstairs to the Little Nell Hotel pool area where there were a restaurant and bar. No one welcomes us or asked if we wanted drinks for 15 minutes. Finally, we asked someone if we could be served. There were 3-4 waiters and a manager talking to each other but not helping the customers. It took at least 30 minutes to get our drinks, meanwhile the place is empty there was one table with 4 people that’s it. The outdoor fire pit doesn’t work, 5-star Hotel, and the fire pit is broken? Wow! So I asked 3 different waiters for a blanket they all ignored me, finally a waiter by the name of Alex brought me one. There is always the excuse of COVID, we are not doing that or the other because of COVID, but I know they are only excuses because at other places people are serving without a problem. The waiters never asked us if we wanted to eat or brought us a menu meanwhile it’s was dinner time - 7:30 pm. They didn’t fill up our glass with water. They don’t serve the water with ice or ask if we wanted ice. No one upstairs when we got back And we are paying $25 for a glass of rose wine from a winery that I never heard of. If you are charging that price at least have Miraval, Whispering Angel, or Domaine Ott. I asked for ice on the side for my rose wine, but the waiter Nate forgot the ice. In order for a Hotel to receive a 5-star rating, they must serve a drink in 4 minutes. This is for sure not a 5-star restaurant. Service in aspen is really going down. From my experience, the only place you can get good service right now is the Hotel Jerome.…
The room, the view , the service and the complete staff made this a very memorable trip. The Concierge Team is second to none as we went fly fishing/hiking/biking and took a sunset Jeep tour to the top of the mountain. Summer time in Aspen is a blast.
My husband and I stayed at The Little Nell for our 10 year anniversary this past weekend. We have been very “COVID-cautious” and were a little nervous on how comfortable we would be. But The Little Nell made us feel completely comfortable our entire stay. The Hotel was clean, the staff was respectful, and the hotel is absolutely beautiful. We had the most perfect weekend at The Little Nell and wouldn’t even consider staying anywhere else during our next trip to Aspen. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We will definitely be back!
