My experience was like none other at Aspen Meadows - literally. I was on a solo, 2-week mountain adventure with my dog and I and booked one night at Aspen Meadows to experience Aspen for the first time. I arrived from Steamboat Springs early so went on a cute hike that started right at the property which made it super easy. After my hike I started to feel really ill and ended up going to the ER that night where I had an emergency appendectomy the next morning (what a ride that was!). Once I figured out I was not leaving the hospital the night I checked in, I had my parents call the resort and let them know my situation. Immediately, they snapped into action, caring for my sweet dog Oreo overnight and into the next day before I came back post-surgery. They picked me up from the hospital, drove me back a few days later to get my car and checked on me many times throughout, seeing if Oreo needed to be walked or fed. I've never met a group of people so kind and sympathetic to my very unique situation! I was only supposed to stay one night and thankfully they were able to extend it several more days until I was back on my feet and able to make the drive back to Texas. Between Lance, Gabe and my girl Roua, Oreo and I definitely feel like family there and cannot WAIT to go back. While an unfortunate situation, it was made so much better by kind staff, good food and an even gorgeous room and backdrop. Thank you to all of the Aspen Meadows staff!

Hotel's Favorite
My friends and I stayed for 9 nights over Christmas and New Years and we had such a great time! Aspen Meadows is a fantastic hotel with really spacious suites. The space made a big difference, especially with all the ski gear we had. Located just a few minutes from the airport and to the town, really close by to Highlands and Buttermilk slopes. Housekeeping was spot on each day and the service from the front desk was also excellent throughout the stay. I had some packages shipped to the hotel, and the hotel would have them sent directly to my room without me having to request for it! When I arrived, I was picked up by Angel from the airport and he was so happy and positive to be working at the Meadows resort. NYE dinner at the hotel restaurant was also excellent and the wines were reasonably priced too. Overall I felt the staff seemed to work very well together to make the guest experience as seamless as possible. A shout out to supervisor Lance Lary who was always on the ball making sure everything was doing great. From day 1 of my stay he would already be addressing me by my name with a huge smile whenever I passed the front desk. A big thanks to Lance and the front desk team for the wonderful service! At check out I was really wondering to myself how we had stayed for 9 nights but yet I did not want to leave! This is a hotel I intend to be back again in the future!

Before we get to the bugs, I will just tell you that every picture about this place is deceiving. First, you have to park about a quarter of a mile away from your military style building. You also have to get your own luggage and carry it upstairs because there are no elevators. Look, I'm not a Karen. I can stay in a Super 8 with the best of them (and have). But this place was bad from the word go. When we finally got our luggage up the steep stairs and opened the door, the room smelled like yeast and not the good homemade bread type. It was also 77 degrees in there. I immediately began looking for the thermostat to turn on some air conditioning. I couldn't find it so called down to the front desk. "We don't have air-conditioning here. Open your windows, you will get a cross breeze." We did. We didn't. The walls separating the two rooms stopped any cross breeze. We went to dinner and came back. Still 75 degrees. Then we noticed that if we left our windows open in the bedroom area, the entire resort could see our bed. So much for privacy. But then, then everything turned into a horror movie. I went to open my luggage and there were hundreds of flying bugs swarming it, the walls, the floor molding and every other surface you could find. Okay, I'm trying not to completely freak out. I'm from Oklahoma and I know bugs intimately but this was a whole new experience. It was super late at this point and Aspen was booked but I got online and found a place in Snowmass (Look for my review of The Viceroy. Spoiler alert, it is everything to love and more), but we didn't feel safe driving the curvy mountain road that late at night so we booked the rest of our Aspen stay for there. So when we were brushing our teeth to try and get some sleep, we see these roach type pincher bugs on the mirror and the vanity. Yes, it did get worse. You know I'm not going to sleep and when I got into bed, looking at my iPad, the flying bugs swarmed me. They were in my hair, my eyes, my ears. Just retelling this, makes me squirm. No sleep and even without bugs, there wouldn't have been. The pillows they have are obviously years old. They were completely flat as if all the stuffing had deteriorated and they stunk like old saliva. Yes. I'm for real. They also had placards out saying how wonderfully they had cleaned. Guess what? We lifted the stopper in the sink to find old rotten grapes sitting there. They didn't even clean the sink, just covered the hold with the drainer and this during Covid. Aghhh! Also got to listen and view bulldozing first thing in the morning. Nothing like going to the mountains for the scenery. Anyway, this place tries to tout itself as an upscale get away for over $300 a night. I would take a Motel 6 any day. At least they leave the light on for you, minus the bugs.

This resort has fantastic c grounds and architecture. Very soothing with unbelievable views with sounds of the roaring fork river. Sculpture gardens and trails along the river are an added bonus. Bicycles can be taken on a short trip to town. It is. I’ve that the buildings are spread out with a lot of walking areas that calm the mind on property.

Spent two weeks in July during the COVID pandemic and had a lovely stay. The hotel was extremely attentive, given the circumstances, and flexible with services and resources. It was great to enjoy Aspen without the stress of being in the core. The resort is lovely, and we hope to return and take better advantage under more normal circumstances.
