We returned to RTR after a 10 year hiatus. What were we thinking, waiting so long! This time it was just husband and I for a September Adults week. It could not have been better. The extremely high level of care to every aspect of the dude ranch experience has remained unchanged. The Van Berkum family has a gift for... More

Have been going to RTR for 19 years now. I am a avid fly fisherman and have fished all over the west during my last 30 years. RTR has some of the best trout fishing I have ever experienced. They have invested in providing excellent river structure which helps the fish numbers and keeps them plentiful and healthy. They also... More

My friend and I have been to five different guest ranches in as many different states, and we've stayed at Rainbow Trout three years in a row. The riding is spectacular and the owners, the Van Berkum family, run a top notch operation. No wonder they have so many regular guests come year after year. You get the true rustic... More

If you are new to riding horses, or a seasoned professional, this is the the Dude Ranch for you. The combination of location, well-treated horses, the most welcoming team of owners and employees, and truly historic property makes this ranch one of a kind. Not a horse person? There is hiking, river rafting, skeet shooting, archery, and oh fishing... can't... More

I had never been to a dude ranch before and did not know what to expect. Rainbow Trout Ranch has so much to offer -- great fishing, incredible horseback riding experiences, and beautiful hiking. The staff is so friendly and addresses you by name. And the food is great! The cabin we stayed in had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and... More

We booked the same week for next year along with several other guests that we met at Rainbow Trout Ranch...that should validate the incredible vacation experience that we enjoyed. My wife rode to spectacular sights in the national forest while I netted rainbow and brown trout beyond my expectations. A big thanks to the Van Berkum family and staff for... More

This year we came to RTR for the first time and we will be back in the future. The ranch has its very special atmosphere, starting with Doug telling wonderful stories in his rocking chair by the fireplace, Linda who does an incredible job regarding simply everything and finally Jane and David who are true horseman, true horse experts. They... More

This was our fifth family vacation at Rainbow Trout Ranch. Our 20 year old daughter and 15 year old son--and my husband and I--have loved it every time. It is a beautiful place, and we really feel away from our busy lives. Our cabin was charming and very comfortable; we loved reading there in front of the fireplace. The food... More

The Van Berkum Family are an extremely welcoming, organized and professional group that have owned and operated this dude ranch for many years. Their staff of interns are impressively well trained. All of our meals were delicious and their horses were simply the best! This was my first and only dude ranch experience and my family and I enjoyed ourselves... More

Fourteen members of my family spent a week at the ranch - 7 kids and 7 adults. The kids stayed busy all day in their camps: riding their horses, hiking, crafts, swimming. The camp counselors wore them out! While the kids were occupied, we rode our horses and relaxed on the beautiful front porch. The meals were wonderful! All of... More
