This place was a disappointment. The place was so dirty that we had to clean the room before I would dare to stay. Way expensive and the AC was very loud. Do not recommend to stay in this place. Parking lot was also full of garbage.
Booked ahead but when we checked in at the desk, we were given room key with barely any direction to where our room was located. We find our assigned room and back our truck up, ready to unload. I opened the door to the room and found the tv on, both beds looked like someone had just gotten out of them and bathroom had many used towels all over it. We immediately returned back to the office and the lady behind counter seemed surprised by the state of the room, but quickly issued us a new room. The 2nd one was in order as you would expect. Rooms are VERY small, expecially when traveling as a family, but we made due. This motel wasn't super busy, so I'm not sure why there was an issue with an uncleaned room. Anyway, fast forward to the next day (we reserved for 2 days) We head out for a late breakfast/ early lunch and when we returned to our room, door key wouldn't work. Alittle aggrivating, but not a huge deal until we head to the office to see why our key won't let us in and the door is locked. No one there and door locked for at least 20mins. When someone finally did show up, a mini van pulled up and parked and a woman exited the vehicle with several bags of groceries in hand as she unlocked and walked into the office. She quickly put her bags down in back. Once she was back at the counter, I told her our room key wouldn't work. She kinda laughed and said it was probably the cold weather - sometimes it erases the key code. She recodes the card and we're back in our room. I don't know how true that explination is, but the key wasn't left in our truck while we were eating, so it didn't have a chance for the cold weather to do whatever, Instead, what I think happened is that when we had to change rooms because the first one was "lived in" I suspect our door key was only coded for 1 night stay- it was after 11am when we left to eat. Admittedly, none of this is a huge dealindividually, but put all together, it was extremely unprofessional and so inconvenient. When checking out, you don't get an exit reciept showing that you did check out by their scheduled time. Just overall, the room was small, very outdated, and bath tub/shower didn't look clean. We opted to wait till we got to our next hotel/motel to shower. I would NEVER book here again - WAY over priced…
We had to stay here because Great Sand Dunes Lodge "lost our reservation" and all the decent hotels were already sold out. This motel is owned by the same family that owns Great Sand Dunes Lodge. We requested a different room as I found hairs in the sheets of our first one and it looked like the sheets hadn't been changed from the previous night's occupants. It was the same story in the second room we were showed. Dirty sheets, crumpled towels that were suspect, and mold in the shower. Suffice it to say we slept in our clothes for the night and didn't shower until we were able to check into the Holiday Inn the second night of our stay in Alamosa. Great Sand Dunes National Park is a blast, though!
I didn’t make a reservation anywhere and knew finding a room could be a problem. After stops at a couple others this little gem was next in line. Room they had left has a kitchenette and was immaculately clean. Very impressed and my new go to spot in Alamosa
Good place to stay for the price you pay. Especially good for solo travelers. Rooms which are far away from the reception do not get great WiFi coverage. Breakfast was standard. Good location and close to the Great Sand Dunes National Park
