Absolutely loved our stay. The hotel is so charming. We loved the complimentary wine and cheese upon arrival as well as the gift basket. We enjoyed our wine and cheese outside on your lovely patio. The room was so beautiful and comfortable and the jacuzzi tub was huge! The pies after 8:00 was a perfect end to our evening. I appreciated having plenty of coffee and tea available to us in our room and in the lobby. The croissant in the morning were delicious too and the chocolates as a parting gift went above and beyond, We truly loved everything about this hotel and we will definitely be back!

This is one of the best places we have EVER stayed. This hotel is really romantic. and in the perfect location. It is 1 block off from the sand of Avila Beach and the downtown promenade. We were greeted with 2 bottles of wine and a bottle of champagne in recognition of our anniversary. We also were given a snack basket that had a bunch of sweet and savory treats that could be exchanged for any others that they had in the snack area. The room had a jacuzzi tub and a fireplace. It had a small balcony so you can open up the french doors and feel the ocean breeze. The hotel is small so it has much more of a bed and breakfast feel. This place was simply amazing! I would give it more stars if I could. We can't wait to go back. We are already making plans for another romantic getaway here.

La Fonda hotel is one of our favorite hotels. A calm and cozy environment serves as the perfect backdrop for a beach staycation. The breakfast baskets, the delicious crescents, the charcuterie & wine, the evening pie options, and the lovely tile souvenir, all add to the comfort that La Fonda is known for.

The hotel is lovely, clean, and perfectly located. If it were at a lower price point, I'd give it 5 stars. Considering the price point, though, I think that in many ways it's an average property. Small things: --breakfast is a bottle of minute made orange juice plus a packaged croissant --the portable air conditioner in the room was too loud to use comfortably. We opened the window, but it opened right onto the sidewalk alongside the hotel. Didn't feel great about the security of leaving the window open (even with the stick they give you to put in the window track). Also, with the window open you hear the conversations of everyone walking by outside. --we arrived very late because of the fire shutting down highway 101 around Santa Barbara. We asked to extend check-out by one hour, but were denied. The night before, we were told that there were lots of rooms available (and that we could extend our stay in the same room if we chose to), as the highway/fire problems had caused many cancellations. Then in the morning, we're told that they're so busy/full that they can't give us an extra hour? Hmmmn ... --the hotel seems to be taking covid seriously in many ways, yet none of the front-desk staff were wearing masks.

Loved the charming Avila La Fonda Hotel. Our room had a large Jacuzzi tub in the main room, fireplace and balcony - we could not wish for a more romantic room in which to celebrate my birthday. And we were greeted with a delicious charcuterie platter! The staff were pleasant and helpful and we would highly recommend this hotel - great value for the $$. Also the underground parking was very convenient in this bustling little town. Great location just a block from the beach and restaurant row. Additionally they gave us a voucher for a free tasting for 2 at Agape wines just across the street - which was wonderful! Our mini vacation could not have been better!
