During my visit we stayed in the Grand Escape Suite Thursday thru Saturday. After reading reviews online I learned the rooms do not have a microwave or coffee maker. The hotel website does not provide this information. The reviews also indicated that the second floor suite provides more privacy than the first floor option due to the trail walkers have an open view to the balcony Jacuzzi and bedroom. When I called the hotel to make the request for the second floor suite, the lady was very nice, helpful, and accommodating. The day of check-in I called the hotel at 11am to see/remind if at all possible to be placed on the second floor (This lady was short and rude). At check-in, the gentlemen (Matt/manager) was nice and informed me I would be on the first floor. I explained it was

Dear 857christinaa- Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your recent stay. I sincerely apologize for the lack of service and room issues you experienced. We always strive to provide top notch service and a wonderful long lasting memory for all guests, so its very disheartening when we are informed otherwise. I will make sure our maintenance team addresses those issues in the room. We are doing "low touch point" check in and out and are only providing email copies upon request. I'd be happy to send over a final copy for your review. I truly hope that you will consider staying with us again, so that we can improve upon your last impression and deliver the product and service I know we are capable of, and that you deserve. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly for any future bookings. Sincerely, Mindy Hunter General Manager

We booked 2 rooms for our family to celebrate our son's birthday. We arrived at 9 pm and were told they only had one room. We had 2 confirmation numbers and had documentation with us. We were told one did not make it into their system. He told us it was their fault. The manager tried to book us a room at another hotel ( he said they were full,) We argued and were finally given a room at a lower level than booked. We went to our room and it was hot, smelled like a locker room, the bed was a mess and obviously slept in. Trash overflowing the trash can. We went back to the lobby. The manager went to check the room, came down with bedding in his arms and said he would give us clean sheets and clean towels. No housekeeping at night. Unacceptable on a good day but dangerous/deadly with

Dear RG642, Thank you for taking the time to let me know about your visit. I sincerely apologize for the experience you had with us. That is certainly not the kind of interaction that I wish for our guests to have. We set a high standard for ourselves and strive to provide a wonderful experience for each guest and are truly sorry that the expectation was not met. It is always disheartening when we miss the mark and I know that we can do better. Mistakes do happen unfortunately and we are only human. I will be speaking with the team directly and using this as a teachable moment so that we can grow and learn from this experience together. Should you be interested in returning, I would love the opportunity to make it right. Please don't hesitate to contact me directly at any time. Sincerely, Mindy Hunter General Manager

The property was cute, however we didn’t spend much time in our room or on the property. The inn sits right along the Bob Jones trail, which is neat. We were able to borrow bikes to ride into Avila. They only have two, so make your reservation early. I wouldn’t pay for the upgrade to a trail side room again, while it was beautiful, there was a lot of traffic on the trail and the passerby could see in our room. We found the room to be rather dark, especially with two lights burned out. The fireplace is nice, but made an awful noise. My recommendation is get a room on the top floor, as we could hear the (ahem) “activities” of the people above us and every step they took.
