Great location across from the beach. Comfortable room. Friendly staff. What sets this hotel apart is the garden area for sitting and relaxing. They will also allow you to store your luggage after checkout while waiting for your departure on the Catalina Express.
We took our family for a week in August 2022 to this wonderful hotel. The staff gives the impression of being owner operators as they are extremely friendly and great at what they do. Every morning the cleaning crew is up early disinfecting the property with mops, rakes, brooms and happy faces. Our rooms were perfect and we LOVED the daily comps of wine and cheese, and coffee and breakfast treats. A truly beautiful property filled with families enjoying games, visiting, playing in the grass and just a walk across the street from the beach. Located just a quick walk from the Catalina Express and great luggage service so you don't have to deal with getting to and from the boat. Centrally located to shops, mini golf, restaurants and Descanso Beach. We can't wait to return to this special property. We booked through VisitCatalinaIsland.com and worked with Giovanna who was the absolute BEST at helping us get everything we needed for our group of nine, including a 3 month old baby. The hotel provided a brand new Pack and Play to our rooms. Our hotel desk crew of Julia, Juan, Angel and Marissa were so thoughtful in anything we needed. We can't wait to return and will absolutley be staying at the Pavillion Hotel!!!…
Fell in love the moment we arrived! Julia Thanks perfect service ! What a perfect time! It wasnt so busy Monday morning, Were so looking forward to our return. We visited the Island for a birthday and the hotel helped us celebrate.
October 28 - 31 visit to Santa Catalina. Pavilion was five stars for us! Friendly and helpful staff. Call the number for the activities booking to get your discounts. Oceanfront boardwalk location was great. Quiet rooms tucked away in lush gardens. Clean place and hard working staff. Nice firepit area to enjoy on cool nights. Wonderful ocean front shared patio lounge to enjoy morning coffee and pastries included. Evening wine and small charcuterie. Loved this spot to enjoy an ocean view without paying for an ocean view suite. A nice courtyard to lounge in, even if you need to checkout before your afternoon ferry. Room Tip: Two queens room was small but clean and adequate. Comfy beds. We did not use the room's patio as the shared lounging area is oceanfront and they always have drinking water available. Island tip: Book your ferry first and plan for the extra 30 to 60 minutes for lining up for that. After checkout the hotel will hold luggage and you can still enjoy a full day on the island. It's an easy walk to this location. No hills at all as it is right on the oceanfront walkway and just a half block from a street you can drive carts on. Season info: Water is at the warm stage for this area of the Pacific at 10.28-31, and you can snorkel or dive at this time of year. It was sunny and 73 most days and that was actually pretty hot ss there was no wind. Jackets at night. The dates we stayed were just past peak as one weekend earlier would have had a couple more activities available due to seasonal closures however, we enjoyed the lighter crowds. …
We wanted a quiet, restful oasis near the beach, and were delighted with the Pavilion Hotel. It was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary, and exceeded our expectations. We hope to visit again soon.
Pavilion has the feeling of a day gone by. The property is perfectly located for all activities at Avalon, or just to sit and see the world pass in front of you as you lounge either at the firepit or under the covered patio. The property has garden area and nooks with tables sprinkled around the property. It is remarkably serene for being waterfront and in the path of all the visitors to Catalina. In the morning there are pastries served with coffee or tea. In the evening cheese and wine was offered. The room for this service was well decorated and comfortable. Out room was on the second floor. A king room with flat screen T.V., air conditioning and desk. It was not a huge room but comfortable. The bed was comfortable with nice linen, The bathroom was large with comfortable towels and nice amenities. There was internet service sufficient for a zoom meeting. The room was equipped with a Keurig coffee maker. I found the items in the bath available for purchase were way overpriced! We choose not to use maid service for our short stay but the horseperson was nice enough to come by to be sure we were fine with towels and amenities. A downside in the room was the fact that there was a walkway in front of the room which prevented us from opening the curtains for reasons of privacy. There was a daily $20.00 that could be used at other Catalina Island operated establishments. There is a resort fee charged which is always an irritation. The price? It was a bit pricy but all of the accommodations on the island seemed so. I would gladly return and stay at the property. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. …
Worst experience I had in Catalina. There were lots of bed bugs in my bed, and with blood. I warned the clerk and they gave me another room. But it was midnight. I just have an answer at noon. It was difficult to talk to the manager. I never expected to find bugs in the room. And I was attacked by them. Terrible experience.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary and my 62nd birthday at the Pavilion for three nights last week. What a fantastic property! First, the location - right on the main walkway facing the beach, harbor, and ocean. The grounds were immaculate, as were the courtyard, firepit, and room. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by Marissa, who had the warmest, most genuine demeanor. It was apparent to me that she genuinely enjoyed her job and responsibilities. She introduced us to the property and explained the events of the day and the remaining days of our stay. She is immensely patient and a great listener, too! Marissa was always cheerful when I went to her for extra towels and coffee and recommendations for dinner and breakfast. Her choices were spot on and perfect! When we arrived at our room, it had a quaint garden courtyard with two chairs out front. When we opened the door, we were treated to a beautifully appointed room, a handwritten anniversary note, and a bottle of champagne. It was impressive, to say the least. The housekeeping and maintenance staff was equally attentive, cleaning the rooms each day. When we returned, it looked as if we had just arrived. Amazing! This is a hotel we will revisit; you won’t go wrong.…
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at!! The staff is awesome and the rooms were perfect! This hotel even delivered our luggage to the ferry so we could continue shopping. Highly recommended for families.
What an absolutely beautiful hotel. Timothy upgraded us to a whole suite for free. Staff recommended all of our events. Food was amazing. Wine and cheese was fun. We 100% will return to the pavilion next time we come to Catalina islands thanks guys you all did an amazing job!
