This was our first time on Catalina and I must say that everyone we encountered was truly appreciative of our visit. Even the checkout lady at Vons said she was glad we chose her line! The Pavilion was a great place to stay. Very well maintained property. Spotless. I’m talking immaculate. If this island doesn’t calm your nerves, then nothing will. The Descanso Beach Club vouchers were great. We hopped on the nice Pavilion bikes, cruised over, had a cocktail and some of their excellent tacos, which were damn excellent, and cruised back. We love this place. We will be back.
Tried for 25 minutes to get a hold of the hotel to no avail. I have a question before I make my reservation that isn’t answered on the site. I made two separate calls, how can I get a hold of anyone? Not sure this is acceptable.
We celebrated our 10 yr anniversary here after all our other trips were canceled due to covid and we neededa break. This hotel was great! The beds and pillows are so comfortable. The sitting areas were alot of fun to hang out and relax. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our 1st day they opened up the library sitting area for us to eat our to go lunch. Only bummer they weren't serving breakfast but offered food credit and I had a great coffee at The Bistro down the road. Can't wait for our next return.
Come for the service and location , they are really kind and accommodating even in a covid world. You get a $40 per night food credit to the beach club (about 10min walk away) or the grill (around the corner). Generous offer to balance no breakfast due to covid. We didn’t love either restaurant though and ended up doing a Vons breaky. Afternoon wine and cheese is also off, but you do get a bottle of wine (or your choice) in your room. The grounds are great and we enjoyed both some drinks and take away in the garden and also the pavilion. The room is older but seems par for the area. Our first trip to Catalina so we don’t have a lot to compare to.
We recently stayed at the Pavilion Hotel and had perhaps the best service ever. Due to fires, we made a last minute vacation switch from Napa to Catalina. We booked a package with ferry and accommodations at the Pavilion. We hadn’t visited the island before so I cannot compare to pre-covid but we just had a nice stay. Yes, the hotel is clearly one that has been there awhile, it gives a ‘60’s Hawaiian vibe. We were on the first floor with a private patio in front of the room. The hotel has well maintained, lush tropical foliage as landscaping and lots of nice places to sit and relax. They offer baggage service to and from the ferry also. We had a glass bottom boat tour included in the package as well as $40 per day credit for food at several spots in town. We spent ours at the Descanso Beach Club, a nice location to spend the afternoon. I was so impressed with the staff at Pavilion Hotel, all were fairly young yet so polite and accommodating. Anything we requested was promptly attended to, and we constantly heard, “No problem. My pleasure!” If you are looking for a family hotel, next to the beach, the Pavilion Hotel is a solid option.…
