We were trying to return home to Nevada but turned around at Lassen Park because of a snow storm. I called Gaia for their availability and was immediately given reservations then welcomed by Rhonda at the front desk. Gaia is very pet friendly and accommodating We received excellent service and fantastic food at both Gaia Hotel and Woodside Grill. DMT

Hotel's Favorite
Beautiful hotel, perfectly situated off the freeway and surrounded in nature. We had a great stay. The front desk lady was fantastic, she was very polite. Due to covid, house keeping doesn't come in the room to get used towels or drop off clean towels personally I didn't mind that. My family always wipes down our hotel rooms as soon as we check in, even more so since covid started. While most of the room seemed clean, the room phone was not and the air conditioner hadn't been cleaned in quite some time. They really need to lift the cover and vacuum, wipe down and change the air filter. We did the best we could cleaning ours. I would give it a 5 stars if the air conditioning unit was clean and regardless I would still recommend to a friend and I will stay again next time I come to Anderson, its just that nice of a hotel.

Lovely property, serene and well kept. Restaurant is top notch! Rooms are soacious and nicely decorated. I’m room fridge and microwave. Bathroom amenities are nice. The property invites you to meander and the decks off the rooms are convenient to enjoy the California weather. I’ll stay here again!

I booked this place on a whim, and I didn’t know there was such a nice place to stay in Anderson! The rooms are large and the layout is nice and quaint with the circular buildings. They allow dogs!!! The Woodside grill is very nice and cozy. Staff was very friendly. Just a very nice place to stay for a good price.

Locks on doors did not work, needed multiple tries to get card to trigger doors to unlock for all family members in various rooms. One of our rooms actually required maintenance break into our room through second story window since door lock totally failed. Maintenance staff worked hard to resolve problem. And dinner in restaurant not great, served a rubber chicken breast, impossible to cut. Hot tub dirty and no poolside tables at chaises. Potentially lovely place on river however with problems, needs investment of staff and money to bring up to Ascend expectations.

Hotel was easy to find. Warm welcome from the staff. Made you feel like home when you walk in. I always enjoy great Customer Service when I get it. Room was just a bit outdated but it was still cozy. The pool and hot tub felt great after a long drive. Top the night off with a few drinks from the bar. Bartender was very friendly and great at their job. Definitely going to be staying here more often when we visit!!

We have never felt so disrespected and devalued as a guest. We booked this hotel a month in advance. Picked out a specific level of room to finish off a very special vacation. We told the reservation agent our plans and that we would be traveling in from the coast on our way home. Our reservation was confirmed the week before and then again, the two days before. On the way in we received a message that they were overbooked and had downgraded our room, to let them know if this was okay or if we wanted to cancel. When we called to see what happened, we were told yes, they were overbooked and had a downgraded room available for us if we wanted it. They told us the downgraded room would be the same price but offered us a free breakfast voucher. When we confirmed that we had booked a month in advance with the person we were speaking to and that the downgraded room was not what we wanted, she asked us to hold, and said she thought she could "fix it". After an extended hold, she came back and told us the room was damaged and had been made unavailable. She offered us even a lower-level room for the same price. If you take a chance on booking here, don't expect your reservation to be honored or the hotel management to care if they ruin your plans.

We stayed here with our kids on a trip to visit the Lassen Volcanic Park. There were ants all over in our room when we woke up. They got into our clothes, and everything else. We mentioned this to the front desk, but even after an hour, no one came to do anything so we asked to cancel our next night stay. We are trying to get a refund on the first night. Horrible experience.

Stayed for two nights while in town for a party that was held at the hotel. The hotel is right off of the highway and very easy to get to and travel to and from, even though it’s close you can’t hear highway noise. The staff were all very friendly and my room on the second floor was so so. It was dark and dingy and there was a considerable gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. I will say it was clean and spacious and the bed comfortable. The AC was nice and cold how we very loud, if you are a light sleeper that will be an issue. I would stay again if I needed to, but wouldn’t go out of my way to. All in all an average place with super nice staff and rather pretty grounds.
