The Anaheim Hotel garners appreciation for its excellent value and prime location near Disneyland, according to many guests. The friendly and accommodating staff are often highlighted, contributing to a pleasant stay. Reviewers also commend the hotel's cleanliness and the soothing, retro ambiance it offers.
While the spacious rooms are a plus, some guests mention they could benefit from updates. The hotel's large pool and the on-site Pizza Press are popular amenities, despite occasional issues with hot water consistency.

Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favorite
I've stayed at many hotels within the Anaheim area and I can honestly say that The Anaheim Hotel on Harbor Blvd is one of the best hotels to make your Disneyland trip a memorable one.
It is one of the few hotels that offer two king size beds! This makes all the difference for the family that needs to include a toddler that sleeps between their parents. There is a great pizza place in the hotel that has a wonderful "gluten-free" pizza crust. The pool is huge and heated.
The best part of this hotel is the staff! Checking in with Jocelyne was a breeze, she was efficient, sweet, and very attentive. The front desk managers are the triumvirate of what customer service should be. Marissa Z and Candi C are always making sure to say "hi" and ask us how we are doing and most importantly take the time to listen. They will also take the time to chit-chat with the guest that just like to talk. Jonathan K not only answers all question thrown at him, but he will explain who, what, where and why things are done a certain way and what he can control to make your stay more enjoyable.
What makes the staff amazing is that they care!

I stayed at the Anaheim Hotel with my two small children and wife in January 2020 for a Disneyland trip. I have stayed at numerous hotels near the Disneyland property over the past few years and have had a mixed bag of experience.
Upon our arrival, the staff was very helpful and were able to let us check in early. The rooms were much larger than I expected, which was perfect because we had a stroller, cooler and 4 people staying inside. The room had a fenced in patio area which was a nice touch and even gave us a view of the fireworks from our room. The beds were nice and I have no complaints. The bathroom was a little outdated but in reality, I'll take that trade off anyday.
The pool is absolutely massive and also has a hot tub. This was an incredible touch because you could literally watch the fireworks from inside, while also resting your body after a long day in the park.
The hotel also has a pizza restaurant attached to the lobby. This was an awesome touch because it allowed us to save some cash by not getting food in the park and get a great meal. The pizzas were very reasonably priced and really good. The concept is that you pick out all your toppings and sauce and they make it in front of you. They had an awesome beer selection, which is handy after a long day in the park. They also had fountain drinks, which allowed us to walk back and refill it while we were hanging at the pool.
The best part about this place is the location. There is always a bit of deception in regards to the distance from the entrance to the park with all off the hotels I have stayed at. This hotel is as advertised. It takes a little more than 10 minutes to get the entrance to both parks. This is a huge benefit if you have small kids and want to take a break during the day. The path to the park has numerous restaurants and places to grab a quick cheap breakfast like Dennys and IHOP.
All things considered this is the best hotel to stay at if you're not staying at one on the Disney property. Great location, clean and comfortable. I will definitely being staying here on my next trip.

This property is a large, two-story motel with several wings and a large pool (great viewing of the evening fireworks from there.) Our family had two standard rooms that were clean and comfortable. Desk staff and the concierge were helpful, especially with storing luggage on getaway day while we went to California Adventure. The bar in the lounge area was fantastic. Both bartenders were helpful and made great drinks. The bar food menu was solid. We used it for mid-afternoon snacks before going to Downtown Disney on the the evening of our arrival, and for a late afternoon dinner two nights later. The adjacent restaurant was adequate for breakfast, one morning cooked and then pastries and coffee on our "early in" day at Disneyland.
I cannot stress how convenient the location is for visiting the parks. It is only about a 7-10 minute safe walk to the security check. This makes it easy to come and go during the day, and/or to return to a park in the evening. One person in our party used a motorized scooter for the entire visit. It was waiting for us at the hotel and then left there at the end of our visit.

Although the location of The Anaheim Hotel is hard to beat (about a 7 minute walk to the entrance of either Disney park), the hotel rooms are old and in need of a major update. The heater/air conditioner is one of those by the window and is very loud when the fan is at any setting higher than “low”. The bathroom shows sign of age although attempts have been made to try to update the facility. The bathtub and sink drainage was slow and there was a patched wall that looked questionable.
Our room was at the end of the hallway and had a frosted window that was covered by a sheer curtain. The curtain did nothing to stop the sunshine from illuminating the room every morning. It’s curious as to why the hotel didn’t use a heavier curtain like the ones used for the other windows in the room. I suggest you request not to get a room at the end of the hallway if you don’t want to be waken by the sunshine streaming into the room.
Besides being close to the Disney park entrance, the hotel is also located near quite a few eateries, which is nice since the only room service is offered by the pizza place next to the hotel.
There’s also a $15 per night parking fee and a $5 resort fee. We spent all day at the parks so we didn’t use any of the amenities like the pool.

My boyfriend and I are pretty much regulars at this hotel, we come about once a month if we can! It’s a quick walk to the park, perfect for those long days at the park. In the summer their HUGE pool is so relaxing and not over packed. Over time we’ve gotten to know some of the awesome staff. Everyone we come into contact with is very accommodating but there are a few we’ve gotten to know a little better. Leo is always there to greet us with a smile and even makes sure my boyfriend’s car is well taken care of (his car is his baby). He was the first one to remember us when we started coming more often. The concierges Candi and Kendal are very sweet. I know Candi worked with my boyfriend this last anniversary to make it extra special and even added a touching personal note that really showed me she cared. She always goes way above and beyond! Sabrina at the bar pretty much knows our order now as soon as we walk up. She’s quick, efficient and makes it look easy. Over all this is our go to hotel and it’s really bc of the staff we keep coming back!!

We recently spent 5 nights at the hotel while visiting Disneyland and California Adventure. The hotel rooms are clean and equipped with the basics. There is a Pizza Press restaurant attached to the hotel which didn’t really serve our needs over the days we were there as the menu is so limited. The best things about this hotel are the friendly staff and that it is walking distance to Disneyland, California Adventure and Downtown Disney.

+1
From a seamless check in experience with Kristopher, to a stylish and functional room the Anaheim Hotel is the perfect spot for anyone visiting the Anaheim Resort area. We had a mix up with Expedia (which they were quick to fix) and Kristopher made the check in personable and pleasant. He provided us a ready room upon arrival (which was great as we had a long morning of travel from Florida). Kristopher offered great local area dining recommendations and was very friendly. The hotel grounds were clean and anytime we requested an amenity it was delivered promptly. Housekeeping was always quick to refresh our room before we came back for an afternoon nap or pool time. The hotel bar was nice and comfy and Abel offered great conversations and drinks. Jonathan the Front Office Manager runs a great operation and I could not have been happier with my experience. It was my first time to California and I could not have asked for a more accommodating or convenient location for a Disneyland trip. I truly cannot say enough about all of the staff and the great job they do welcoming their guests.

We chose to stay here for our Disneyland trip and loved it! It has a really cute mid-century theme and everyone is genuinely so kind. There was a long wait at check-in however that was because they were booked up the night before. We were allowed access to the pool and lobby in the meantime and they stored our bags. Leo specifically was our favorite! He was kind and patient with my kids who were super wound up after our flight, he greeted us every morning, and he made sure we had everything we needed while we waited to check in. The hotel is literally a 4 minute walk from the Disneyland entrance sign and maybe 8 minutes from the front gates. It was a super easy walk after a long day (and we really try to avoid long walks after opening and closing the park) 😂
House keeping came daily and our room looked great and stayed stocked with towels and toiletries. Bellhops are super kind and helpful. And the pool is gorgeous! All the property is incredibly clean all of the time.
I can’t recommend them enough!
I’d say the only issue to be aware of is that there are no elevators as it is an older building

Surprisingly really nice hotel. Although I think it was built in the 1950's or 1960's, it's kept up very well. Everything in the room worked, it was very clear, very friendly staff, even great Hawaiian Tropic soaps and shampoos. The location is just perfect, almost at the entrance of Downtown Disney, which means you can walk to the Gardenwalk shopping center, CVS and Walgreen's nearby, and perhaps a hundred or so restaurants all within walking distance. They charge a reasonable $20 a day for parking for hotel guests. I liked the adjacent Pizza Press restaurant for breakfast, it even had a nice quiet outdoor patio. Prices were reasonable and the food was good. They show movies every night by the nice pool. My only complaint was they put too much fabric softener in their towels, which makes them almost completely non-absorbent.

If you want a charming, walk to the Disney Parks, affordable hotel with excellent customer service, I invite you to check out this hotel. This older property built at the same time as Disneyland, has a relaxing pool area, good green space and most rooms have a balcony or patio. If you get certain buildings, like the 100 block, you will get a view of fireworks from your balcony. I feel relaxed here, as I step past the clean cool lobby and into the courtyard where rooms are located. The rooms are older but very well ordered, the shower has hot blasting water, and good products to use. For the price, if you like charm, warm friendly staff, a great pool, where movies are shown on certain nights, cold lemon water waiting for you in the lobby, stay here. The attached Pizza Press is also a great feature. Grab that slice, and cold beverage, soak your feet in the hot tub, smell the jasmine blooming nearby, and relax, because tomorrow is another huge day in the park, depending how fast you walk, 10 minutes away.
