We had an amazing time staying at the Candy Cane Inn this week. The room: We stayed in a standard room and paid a AAA rate of $189 (the rack rate was $199), and for the price it was fantastic. The rack rate is now $350 for the standard room The standard room but if you add having to buy breakfast for 3 or 4 people every day and the ART passes, you could easily add the difference. The room was a bit small, but you could tell it was recently updated, it would easily work for two people, we had three people in the room and it was tight so I’d imagine 4 adults would be tight but would probably be ok for two adults and two kids, especially if you're wanting to save money. The beds were comfortable, the pillows were great and the AC worked a little too well, lol, If you wanted you could turn the room into an ice box. The bathroom is spacious and the sink/vanity areas have a lot of counter space, That’s also where you’ll find the mini fridge, microwave ms are behind the front desk. There’s a pretty big closet with a small safe and two large dresser drawers and a coffee maker next to it, Coffee, tea, and ice water are also available in the lobby all day. The room also had 10 outlets and two USB spots so there's plenty of charging space. (*** You could probably get a standard wheelchair into a standard non-accessible room if transferring isn’t a big issue, The beds are on the higher side and the toilets aren’t super low but the boot opens outward. The shower didn’t have any handles but there was a provided nonslip rubber shower mat.***) The Property: The hotel property is beautiful, the pool area is super nice and there are quite a few restaurants and a 7/11 next door, parking is free and there's dedicated mobile scooter parking and they’ll take the scooter overnight and charge them just drop off the keys with the front desk person. I didn’t see any EV chargers on the property so if you have an electric vehicle you may have to spend some time in the Target parking lot a few blocks down the street. There is no elevator on the property, so if you need that request a ground floor room. The Staff: The level of service and friendliness from the staff is outstanding, It felt as if they were trained by Disney, they seem to have looked at the Disney hospitality handbook. They always said good morning, afternoon, or evening every time you walked into the lobby even if you turned around and walked right back in. The breakfast room staff always kept tables and the breakfast area clean and replenished. The bus drivers were awesome, especially James! Always cheery and he always let the kids ring the trolly bell before departing and helped load and unload strollers. Transportation: They provide a free shuttle first one is at 7:30 am, and at 8 am they start departing the hotel every hour and depart the park every 15 minutes past the hour, with the last for the night being 45 minutes after the park closes. (***Keep in mind that the shuttle they have can not accommodate any type of wheeled mobility device unless the person can transfer and walk up 4 steps and the device can be folded up, otherwise, they’ll arrange transport to the park.***) The only thing that I can recommend is adding a 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. park departure. You can also walk to the park, I’m overweight and walk slower than the average person so it took me about 15-20 minutes to get from the hotel to the bag check area. —————————————— Here’s the breakfast spread, also I can’t imagine they’d stop you from grabbing a few breakfast sandwiches, bagels/donuts/pastries, etc. to take into the park for lunch or a snack, you could easily pack a couple of small lunch bags with what’s there. Another thing to note is they don’t start packing things up until after 9 am so if you get there at 9 am everything should still be out unless some hotel that’ll be all packed up by 9 am. The microwaves are also there to be used after everything is cleaned up. Waffle: Make your own, both mini and large with butter and syrup and sugar-free syrup Breakfast croissant sandwiches (they are cold so cheese, egg, and meat can be removed or taken out and put on a bagel or sliced bread): Egg and cheese, Ham, egg and cheese, Sausage, eggs and cheese Fruits: Whole - apples (green and red), and bananas Sliced - pineapple, strawberries, kiwis, watermelon, cantaloupe Breads: white, wheat, cinnamon raisins Bagels - plain, jalapeño cheddar, everything Pastries: fresh assorted donuts and pastries, muffins, Danish’s, lemon poppyseed, and chocolate cake (odd choices lol) Cereal: Frosted Flakes, fruity pebbles, Cheerios Misc: hard-boiled eggs, cheese cubes, yogurt Drinks: coffee, hot water for tea, hot chocolate, milk, chocolate milk, apple, orange, cranberry, and guava mango juice ———————————————————— Overview: This was probably the biggest bang for my buck at a hotel that I’ve experienced in a long time and this has become my go-to hotel for Disneyland.…
