I usually don't like campgrounds, but I haven't had a chance to rig up my current travel trailer for boondocking yet. So I needed electrical and water. Steve put me in a great site, very private with a great view to the west. Nice people, decent rates. Reserve ahead, they host several large groups over the winter.
Helpful staff, ice machine with free ice, freezer space, electric and water sites as well as dry camp sites. Staff helped with emptying holding tanks before leaving the site. Beautiful desert scenes as far as the eye can see! Steve - campground owner - will help you with all of your needs. Try this place...you will go back again and again!!
Nice place to stay for hunting season. Could use some more level sites, but otherwise good stay. The owner and his help were very helpful. They hooked me up to electric and water and even fixed their mistake when they accidentally hooked up to my black tank sprinkler. There is a very loud mule that lives next door and makes quite the racket when the coyotes are around.
We stayed in a '63 Ideal travel trailer, one of several vintage campers available. We quickly felt right at home in the fun retro setting. Steve is a gracious and responsive host and runs a tidy campground, with small ponds attracting a large variety of birds, and picturesque views. Our vintage camper was beautifully restored and immaculate. We will be back again!
I spent three nights at La Siesta last week. It could not have been any better for me.. It is definitely off the beaten path, but it is extremely comfortable there. Steve is a wonderful host/owner. The views were utterly amazing. Sunrises were breathtaking. It is close to a multitude of hiking, and the smalltown of Arivaca has all the services you need. This is not the "resort spa" mentality. It is ideal for a peaceful outdoor experience.
