We were visiting family in Phoenix and had booked two nights at a campground that turned out to be in a location that felt very unsafe. We called around and Meridian was the only place we would find that could accommodate us, and we were so thankful to stay here - not just because it was the only option, but because we really enjoyed the resort. The weather was too cool to make use of the pool, but we did use the laundry room, which was nice and clean, plus my wife and I enjoyed a few games of billiards together, lousy as we are at the game. We enjoyed walking the dogs through the park, and the location is perfect for accessing outdoor recreation, such as Lost Dutchman State Park. We will be back to this RV resort.

Meridian was clean, quiet, spacious sites, great facilities, good for dogs. Easy check in. Pool was warm. Location easy to get around. We stayed an extra week it was so good. We would definitely come back when next in the area. One thing in particular that we liked was the dedicated washer and dryer just for dog bedding.

Very well kept and the dog parks were fantastic. We also appreciated the dog wash station which was not working when we first arrived, but when we inquired about it, it was set up right away.

I picked 1 for rooms as we had an RV and not a room

What was once an RvPark with lots of activities is now a campground for rvs with a pool. Skeleton crew for maintenance and it shows (not their fault can only do so much)
Gravel sites would be raked and cleaned when someone left. Roads would be swept so gravel was back on site. Laundry room no where what it used to be. Seen dogs go on sites. Used to have great cooks with dinners and entertainment for almost every occasion. Veterans Day, Christmas, New Years, Can Am, St Pats, Mardi Gras, ValentInes Day celebrated on the 11th not 14th etc. etc. Had a great crew in activities office Sock Hop,Newlywed,Karoake, bus trips, casino trips, mystery tours, ice cream socials. Poker tournaments, Golf Tournaments. Had a great wood shop, massage room, place to have hair cut, Western town. All gone. What I will miss now are all the great people we have met over the years.

We spent our first winter at Meridian RV Resort in the fall of 2019. It was a lively place with events scheduled almost every day and dances and dinners every other week. There was a woodshop and craft room. They had a chef living there that would prepare meals every few weeks. We loved it. Most of the people there were seasonal and the park was filled to capacity.

In 2020, the owners started their sale of the park to ELS Resorts, the company that owns Thousand TrailsEncore. Covid was also going on during that season so most of the events were cancelled and most of the Canadians could not come to the US for the season so it really was not a good year to judge the park activities.

Since 2020, the park has nose-dived in activities and amenities. No more woodshop or craft room. Most of the activities are organized by the residents. No event director on staff. ELS does try to have a dance occasionally but not on a regular basis. The residents organize potlucks, Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas dinners.

Most of the seasonal residents have moved on to other parks that have activities. They are replaced by Thousand TrailEncore short term stays. I don’t want to seem one sided but there is no pride in the temporary residents. They let their dogs go to the bathroom on the side of the streets and don’t pick up, instead of taking them to the dog parks. Sites are not cleaned up when they leave due to a lack of camp workers. Electrical boxes and cable boxes regularly get knocked over by RVs since they don’t supervise parking. Trees and shrubs are not maintained, and the pool and spa are regularly not working correctly.

This has become a campground, not by any means a resort. They charge rates, which go up every year, like they are a resort. We have moved on to another park for the 2024 season with many of our friends.

This is our fourth season at Meridian RV Resort. The first and part of the second season, it was owned by a private owner who expected the residents to abide by the rules and had numerous events and concerts. Then ELS (Thousand Trails and Encore) bought the park – what a mess. Almost no events now except for those arranged by the residents. No-one enforces rules – dogs relieving themselves on lots, roads and in the vegetation (there are four dog parks), people putting gazebos and dog fences up on their lots (which is prohibited unless you are an annual), music playing in private lots until well after quiet time starts, etc. We even have had residents bitten by dogs and the owners were not asked to leave. Don’t even think about calling the emergency number after hours since you probably will not reach anyone. We are currently without a manager since the last one left. Rates go up every year – next season we will be paying almost $1000 per month for a five month stay and they won’t do any maintenance on our lots – just let the weeds grow. People that used to be annuals here are leaving in droves for other parks that care more about their residents, and saving $800.00 for the same annual stay.

We arrived on a Saturday, the office closed, our assigned site too narrow to accommodate our 31’ 5th wheel with slide, between the post and pad. Residents were helpful to find a number for Steve, the Maintenance Manager, who came to our rescue. He was so patient, polite and helpful getting us settled into another site (also tight)… 2 hours later. We can’t say enough about this gentleman. Encore Meridian did compensate us for this trouble on arrival. Thank you.
Facilities are very clean - the pool, laundry and public showers, dog park and club house rooms.
Wifi could be a little stronger and consistent, perhaps an option to purchase or connect to high speed. Teams meetings dropped while in the clubhouse on the wifi.
The park is close to shopping, groceries and otherwise. We were in the area to explore Lost Dutchman State Park, 10 minutes away. The “sardine can vibe” is not our thing, so we won’t be back, but many there love it. Nice small RV Park.

We've had a seasonal site here since October. Every Friday morning a landscape company comes into the park and starts using leaf blowers before 7am! They use the blowers right outside our rig and wake us up. When I asked management if this couldn't be scheduled for later in the day, I was told that "We've asked them not to start so early but they said they couldn't do it". This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. If you're paying for a service, but the provider won't do as you ask, shouldn't you get a different service provider? Meanwhile, you're willing to irritate paying customers? That makes no sense. I would not recommend this RV park since management and the corporate entity that owns it clearly are not customer-focused. We won't be back.

I originally booked our site for a weeklong stay online. A couple of days went by, and I didn’t receive an email confirmation for the stay, so I called. Good thing because they didn’t have our reservation. The lady on the phone was very nice, took our information, and emailed me a reservation confirmation. She apologized and said the online system didn’t always work.

On our arrival day, we received a phone call when we were about an hour away to tell us that the office would be closed but our paperwork would be on the door. We were arriving at around 3:30 so I was surprised that nobody would be there that early in the day. We were traveling with another RV and when I mentioned this, the lady on the phone noted that we were not situated together and asked if we would like to be. She then made some changes and got us moved to spots a little closer to one another. We really appreciated this offer and though we were not next to our friends, they were only two spots away.

Upon arrival, we found our back-in site very tight but doable. Unfortunately, the sites on our row were sloped toward the road and there was no way we could get our 40’ coach level. Many of the larger coaches on our row had their front tires off the ground, something we were not willing to do.

All the sites at Meridian are gravel and each site has a small concrete patio. Hookups were in good shape and the pool area and clubhouse were very nice. There were four dog parks, three of them in our area and the grounds appeared to be clean and well kept. The location is good, shopping and restaurants are nearby. We had a block wall across from us but also had a nice view of the Superstition Mountains just over the top of it so no complaints.

Overall, the park is fine, albeit very tight. Our biggest complaint was the unlevel sites and we would likely not stay again based on that. There are just too many options in the Mesa/Apache Junction area where we could pull in and level much easier.
