VERY disappointed!! This is a lengthy review but I promise you’ll want to read it! From a dirty shower, to finding blood in our sheets, to being shamed by management… this is by far the worst stay ever. I recently stayed at the Hotel at Auburn for graduation weekend. The hotel lobby was beautiful, smelled amazing, but that’s it. Everything else was extremely disappointing. Due to COVID and The Monkey Pox outbreak, immediately upon entering our room, we sprayed every surface with MicroBan and wiped everything down with Clorox wipes. As we were cleaning, I realized a lot of crumbs and debris under the desk and in the corners. I also saw one of the complimentary water bottles was already halfway drunk... that was the first red flag. After cleaning everything, my sister took a shower and noticed there was a hotel soap bar wrapper in the corner of the shower… the second red flag. That 100% means the shower was not cleaned at all. But we did not complain to the front desk because we were in such a rush to get to our event. The next day, we found a dirty q-tip behind the mini trash can in the room (neither of us had used a q-tip yet). Once again, we were in a rush and didn’t say anything. That evening, my sister got into bed and found a previous guest’s BLOOD ON HER SHEETS! We did not realize this the first night because we were so exhausted, we immediately laid on our beds and knocked out. This is where we completely freaked out and called the front desk. Initially, the concierge said sorry, offered to move us to another room, and free breakfast. He didn’t even seem shocked or show any empathy to finding out we were sleeping in someone else’s bodily fluids. This just seemed like a regular day to him. At this point I was even more infuriated and demanded to speak to a manager. She too apologized and offered to move our room. But the craziest part of it all, she flipped it onto us and asked what have we been doing since we checked in and why didn’t we say anything… EXCUSE ME??! I just paid over $1,000 for this room for two nights and this is how I’m treated?? This is ABSOLUTELY NOT how you treat guests. Once I explained everything to her with the same attitude that she gave me, I demanded something more than a free breakfast (which would have costed the hotel no more than $40-$50). She then offered to give us one night free. We moved rooms, only to find out our TV didn’t work. We also waited over an hour and a half for room service to deliver TWO shots of espresso to our room. Needless to say, we were livid. We went back down to the lobby to figure out what the heck was going on. The manager apologized and mailed us a free night for the next time we stay. Although, I don’t know if that will ever happen. After our complaints to the concierge and management, NOBODY followed up with us to make sure our room was ok. No room visit or no call. This showed they did not at all care about us. If I heard about a guest that had even half of what we had going on in our room, as a manager, I would have definitely come to our room, apologized, and made sure everything was perfect. Overall, the best thing about this hotel was the location and the valet. They are AMAZING, so patient, and so kind! They asked how our stay was, we told them. Not only were they truly disgusted, they also wrote down our names and room number so they could speak to the front desk too. My suggestion, just save your money and stay at the Double Tree. There’s no difference.

Good day Rememomodu, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Please accept my sincere apology and know that this experience is clearly not up to our standards. I'm glad to see our team did offer the complimentary night and the invite back to regain your trust in The Hotel at Auburn University. However, the lack of empathy you mentioned is very concerning. We will certainly take this opportunity to share your experience for training purposes. I would love to speak to you personally. Please call me at your convenience at 334-321-3130.
