All well except with the parking situation. I misplaced my checkout voucher and it caused a big flap. also I had to waits inordinately long for my car. It would;ld have been better for keto have gotten it by going and checking out in the garage.
Traveling to DC I wanted to stay in a different location than normally I stay. I found the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The housekeeping staff went above the normal in their helpfulness. With all that was going on at the time, I felt safe at this hotel.
Very nice one night stay for our family . Due to cov 19 we were not able to enjoy the complete hotel experience. Hope to return when a complete experience can be had. The location to the White House was very important to our trip.
Excellent hotel in classic style, best location, courteous staff, lots of history. My room was quiet and clean with a view of Washington Memorial. There is a nice and secluded business room with double doors located in the back of the hotel; it was super convenient when had to attend a virtual meeting. Highly recommend staying here for a memorable experience or a business trip.
We checked in on the 30th, accepting a bare minimum of amenities. As time went on, those amenities were reduced beyond "0", under the pretext of the pandemic and some unexplained "unrest" which was nowhere near the hotel. Guests were aggressively greeted at the door, scrutinized, followed to their elevators, and basically treated as inmates. Our presence in the lobby was prohibited, unless, according to the security manager, I addressed a specific request to him, explained my reasons, and if he deemed it appropriate, he would assign a chair to me and fix a time period to occupy it. I was eventually permitted to occupy a chair to make a 10 minute phone call, under his watchful eye. Even outdoor dining was shut down. The lobby was kept vacant by hotel security. It was a "crime" to be caught there. Hotel management explained that none of these measures were required by law; it was all based on hotel policy. The few amenities that we paid for were eliminated entirely after our arrival. There was no logical or legal reason for any of this rude and oppressive treatment. …
