What a charming hotel! If you’re sick of all the chain hotels in Washington, this is the place to stay. Historic property with lovely rooms and public spaces. Incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Located one block from the White House! Also only had the chance to eat at the bar but it was quite good. I look forward to coming back.
The location does not get better. This hotel is located in the heart of DC, within walking distance to most attractions. The hotel itself is beautiful if a tad intimidating on arrival. However, the friendliness of the staff is incomparable. The attention to detail sells the stay. I will definitely return.
If you plan to get married in DC, you should look no further. The Willard’s understated elegance, service, food, and rooms are top notch. But what really separates them from the rest is their staff. Michael Delbette and his staff are, hands down the best in the region. Thank you for making this an incredible weekend !
Absolutely beautiful hotel. The location can’t be beat. A historic icon. The lobby is stunning, the staff is so friendly and professional, and the rooms are impeccably clean and comfortable. Highly recommend and will absolutely stay here again!
Hotel icon still holding on. This grande dame still has stature. Unfortunately, travel and the service industry have not remained constant. Yes, the hotel is grand and clean and provides service on a basic level. But hotel guests generally arrive in their leggings, sweats and pajamas. This detracts from the overall experience-no fault of the Intercontinental. So, why bother paying too price for old fashioned rooms and unenthusiastic service? The gym was well equipped. The Robin Bar remains old fashioned and staid. There is no stationary in the room desks. No Room Service Menus. Gone are the days of paper. No water bottles or fruit in the gym. Just the bare minimum-codes to scan on your phone…the service industry from the Willard’s heyday is gone.
My hotel of choice in the DC area is the Willard for many reasons. This last trip they upgraded us to a beautiful Junior Suite. I cannot say enough good things about this place! From the great food down at the Round Robin, perfect beds, beautiful aesthetics and location. There isn't a better place to stay. Thank you so much to the staff at this location that always go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. We will be back soon!
The Willard is a full service hotel. Top of the line in every way. Here is a tip to save some money. If you join the IHG points club spend $200 and buy up to Platinum. For that you get a room upgrade and 4 pm check out. So you basically get an extra day. Also, don’t order room service. Phone down to the Cafe du Parc and get take out. The in-restaurant menu is priced about 20% cheaper than the room service menu, and you avoid the $6 delivery fee. Same food, just cheaper. There is no kettle or microwave in the room but you can request these.
Ayyia at the Reception made this weekend with my Granddaughter exceptional, she upgraded our room to the 10th floor with a marvelous view, gave us free drinks at the cozy Round Robin Bar and made this Grand Hotel very welcoming
This is my frist time at this hotel, as I travel to DC often for business. My plane arrived early and arrived well before check in time. I was greeted immdiately, the doorman took my luggage opened the door and walked me to the front desk. Victor greeted me at the front desk and was cordial, informative and accommodating. Upon learning it was my first time here, upgraded my room. The hotel and rooms are extremely clean, fresh, modern and colorfully decorated, and the attention to detail is amazing. I love the drawers and shelving in the bathroom that made unpacking a delightful ease. Every staff member I encountered from cleaning staff, to front desk, to restaurant personnel and front door were proactively cordial, helpful and delightful. The restaurant is a wonderful hidden gem. I reccommend this stay, and make sure you say hello to Victor.…
Last night in DC and we decided to try a different hotel. It was a great decision. It has a convenient location and we enjoyed an evening walk. Our room was TOPS. It was clean and very nicely furnished. All staff were friendly and helpful! A GREAT night stay. See you next year. Travel safe…
