Some great + some horrible = meh. The hotel itself is showing its age, but its kind of cute and kitschy. For example, there was a working corded telephone on the wall in the bathroom. Just remember, you’ll have to pay to use it. And there was a tube in the hallway for letters/mail (see picture). And my personal favourite,... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. Was in town for the Dinner En Blanc event. Our room was large and comfortable. The bed was wonderful, towels were soft and the mini fridge was perfect to cool down our wine. Ate at the buffet for breakfast and it was very good with a lot of choices. Service was impeccable. Everyone from the... More

DC can be a bewildering place to visit, with a seemingly infinite array of identikit hotels: old style grand, with plush furnishings, steak breakfasts and names that nod to diplomacy and privilege. It's also an expensive city to stay in and two or three hundred dollars a night doesn't buy much more than a basic hotel room. I've stayed in... More

We liked the place. It is very well located: 2 minutes from Dupont Circle Metro Station, and 25 minutes walking distance to the Mall. Quiet neighborhood with good offers of restaurants and amenities around it. I am not giving it 5 stars for two special reasons that I didn't like: First one is about WiFi. I don't understand how, nowadays,... More

Hubby and I needed to get away and decided to head to Washington for 1 night. Got a great rate at The Fairfax and it did not disappoint! From the moment we got out of our Uber ride, bellman greeted us right away and Q checked us in. Typically when we check in to hotels, all we want to do... More

The hotel has so much charm. The staff is absolutely fabulous! Clean and Friendly Staff! Very comfortable bed! Melat checked us into a King suite with a great view. Ms. Gonzales, the front office manager, was very accommodating when requests were made. The valet/bellmen were ready to assist anytime we needed directions or transportation. Recommendations for restaurants on P street... More

We stayed in a King Size Executive Suite. Hotel staff very friendly, room was clean, and it was very convenient to subway, shopping, nice restaurants and all attractions in DC. One staff member was even nice enough to walk with my daughter to CVS so she didn't have to walk by herself at night.

Just landed after a few days travelling from Aus. Great location and friendly front of hotel staff. Room beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Just very disappointed, when you open the curtains all we can see is brick wall from every angle. Yes understand its only standard room but even so cant hide my disappointment.

Enjoyed our stay at the Fairfax. Liked the location, an easy Uber ride to wherever we wanted to go. Not close enough to walk to any major attractions. The staff was fabulous and accommodated us in every way possible. The only real concern is the horrible wifi service and the lack of cell phone strength (I have Verizon) in the hotel.... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Fairfax. We spent 6 nights in DC. Walked and Ubered everywhere. The Fairfax was a great base. Our room was large (we had a double with two queen beds) and clean. It is a lovely old hotel with very classic decorations and furniture. It had the three things we demand in a hotel: 1)... More
