I tried to make a booking on this hotel's website, but before the end the website crashed. Never got a confirmation, so went for another hotel. Later on the full night was on my credit card and although I filed a complaint, it was never handled correctly. They had my credit card number, but all the other details were incomplete...

This was an beautiful hotel in a great location. Staff at Reception, especially Abdi (not sure of spelling) provided a great first impression, a most important thing. Ambience was so restful, room was superb. One complaint was, that at breakfast which we thought was expensive, PLASTIC cutlery was all that was available.????

This hotel is a great hotel in a really good location, it is approx a 15 minute walk from the Mall. The hotel is clean, and the staff are very friendly. It is a 2 minute walk from the Metro station, so easy to get from and to the airport using public transport. The room was nice, how ever we...

We were just popping in and out of DC for a very quick work/play weekend. We found a terrific rate for The Fairfax on hotels.com. It's a very clean, upscale hotel (Al Gore's former childhood residence!) located in the heart of the fascinating Embassy Row district. With easy to find street parking and within walking distance of DuPont Circle-- you...

Our room was on the 8th floor facing Mass Ave. Lots of light, quiet with a great view of the area. The room is beautiful. It have a lot of space and decorated nicely. Big comfortable bed with nice sheets and pillows. The shower had grab bars and super hot water if you wanted it. The breakfast buffet was disappointing....

Efficient and friendly check in. Good sized and comfortable well decorated room. Great bed and linen. A character Hotel with a bar serving some food. An easy walk to most city attractions and local restaurants although on a bus route. Breakfast was not included but available. Not a huge choice and we were surprised and disappointed in the plastic plates...

Overall the Fairfax is okay but very limited on service, no lunch, tiny lobby area, slow luggage pickup, had trouble getting room ready, breakfast very poor. On positive side, room is very nicely appointed and location is good.

The hotel and staff were very nice. Bed was comfortable. We did eat breakfast there because it was pouring rain. They had a buffet which was 18$ and was self service. The breakfast selection was very limited and it was not worth it. Go one street over and there is Starbucks, panera and a wonderful bakery. Very expensive to park...

I spend about 50 nights a year in hotels, about 10 of those are in DC. My usual hotels were booked so I booked the fairfax on Expedia. I can understand why they had rooms. The so called view room had a view of the physical plant and a brick wall. The mattress was so soft and lumpy that I...
