Where do I begin? First off, I sure hope I can be refunded the double charges. Second, the $100 credit from being a Platinum Amex CC holder was never applied to even the double charge issued. Thirdly, I was refused my Hilton gold benefit due to having $100 Amex Platinum credit. Thirdly, please change your minibar’s automation. It causes confusion if you get charged for exploring what’s in the bar without consuming it. If not, let the customers know they’d be charged if the touch the items ( difficult to explain to a 6 year old). If possible, lower the water bottle prices to something realistic, and expand the breakfast options. Thank you!

Dear Asathora, Please accept our apologies for the billing issues. It seems that you did not check out at the desk in person, hence the credit was not applied immediately, however it was rectified at a later stage and you should have received the correct invoice by email. We have a partnership with AMEX for The Hotel Collection Program and have several promotions available. The rate you have selected is not eligible for Honors privileges as it provides other benefits which are not cumulative, sorry if there was any confusion at the time of reservation with your AMEX travel consultant. The minibar automation system has been a standard in the hotel industry for a few decades, however we are always available to rectify the automated charges when guests claim that there were no consumptions. I am sure that the fact that there was no personal interaction at check out contributed to the confusion of your bill. Please reach out to me directly at DCAKE_GM@hilton.com if any of the billing issues have not rectified to your satisfaction. We look forward to having the opportunity to welcome you again to the Madison and make sure that your next stay with us will be flawless in every aspect. Thank you again for taking the time to address your concerns.

Some have commented that the location isn't the best, but it all depends on what you are doing in DC. If you want to be as close to the monuments as possible this may not be your best fit, but if you want a really central location that gives you great access to Dupont Circle, Logan Circle, etc. while still being close to the monuments it is a really great central location. The front desk staff was great and communicated by text in advance of my arrival, and we got a great upgrade to one of the penthouse rooms given Hilton Diamond status. The penthouse room had a very large outdoor terrace and was very clean and comfortable. We generally prefer more modern designed hotels but would definitely return to the Madison. If there was any small negative it was the parking. It wasn't terribly far but the garage was quite dingy and not the easiest to navigate. There is a nice area though to pull off the road in front of the hotel while you check-in.

We recently visited the Madison, and we couldn’t be more happy with our stay. The front desk staff were all amazing, especially Vivian. They made our stay very memorable. The lobby was recently renovated and is beautiful. All the amenities are top notch (we loved the cafe w/ Starbucks). Our room was on the 15th floor and it was spacious, luxurious and clean. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the DC area.
