Sophisticated, natural, and welcoming, the recently renovated Hotel Madera has been a beloved neighborhood hangout since it opened over a decade ago. Thanks to its thoughtful, sophisticated design and warm staff, the hotel evokes a sense of serenity, privacy, and ease, ushering in guests as members of the family. In our intimate living room and Firefly restaurant, you might strike up effortless conversation with longtime Dupont Circle residents, or creative types with an artful eye who are happy to swap stories over a friendly cocktail. Our centrally located boutique hotel offers elegant meeting and event spaces for smaller groups, as well as spacious guest rooms and suites that feature special amenities like roomy balconies. No matter your reason for visiting our downtown hideaway, we are thrilled to let you in one of DC’s best-kept secrets.

I've stayed in 6 different hotels in D.C. in the past year. This is one to which I'll definitely return. The location works well when I'm visiting my daughter at college. And, as I like to walk, it's an easy walk to a good Whole Foods and the Foggy Bottom metro station. Its also a fairly long--but pleasant--walk to the White House, Lincoln Memorial, etc. The rooms are large. The bathrooms are extremely well thought out. The shower was huge with a textured floor that prevented slipping. Our room on the front of the hotel was quiet enough for us to sleep well. We liked the front desk staff. The housekeeping staff did a great job! The only thing that gave us pause was that you have to go up a small flight of stairs to reach the elevator and there's no bellman. However, the front desk staff immediately offered to carry our heavy suitcases up the stairs, so we were fine. We liked the neighborhood, and there's an excellent bakery/coffee shop (Tatte) nearby. This hotel is definitely a keeper.

Hotel's Favorite
This hotel exceeded expectations in EVERY way! Staff was absolutely amazing from front desk to bar staff to housekeeping and bellhop. Amazingly friendly and helpful. Made us feel like family by greeting us by name all the time. Room was super clean, huge bathroom, comfortable beds and nice touches everywhere. Ice on every floor prepackaged in individual bags. We will NEVER visit DC again and stay anywhere else. Keep up the great job and we’ll see you soon! Love love love this hotel!

With immaculately clean, stylishly appointed, and generously oversized, rooms, the Madera was a big hit on my last business trip to DC. Add the friendly service (make it a point to befriend Ice, an especially delightful conversationalist), and you’ve got an ideal destination in the DuPont Circle area.

Our stay at Madera was fantastic. The hotel is well located, clean, and the staff is helpful and wonderful. We had three rooms. Everyone noted the quality of hotel and service. It was truly noteworthy. The front desk staff was very helpful in all respects. Maggie ensured that all aspects of our stay were impeccable. I highly recommend this hotel.

Small boutique hotel with nicely appointed and spacious rooms , some with balconies and lots of great activities and sights nearby. Service was good in the hotel especially at the front desk. Made you feel at home. The gym is small but functional and the restaurant attached to the hotel a decent dining option although there are tons of superb options nearby. Excellent value for price paid. Highly recommend. Will be back.

Excellent boutique hotel!! Came from Winning for work and it was perfect. Rooms were awesome. All staff was super friendly. One bummer was the restaurant isn’t open all week, but there is plenty close by walking distance. Beds were comfy. Hotel and rooms were very clean.

Checkin was a breeze & the staff are very friendly. They have a daily cocktail hour for guests. Location is great, the room was large and clean, bed was comfortable. I loved the filtered water station on my floor (still and sparkling). I would def stay here again (especially for the price).

The staff is exceptional. The location is walkable for all DC sites for good walkers. The room is adequate, not luxurious. Housekeeping daily. Extremely good value for DC. Firefly is a good restaurant.

This was my husband & I first time visiting DC. We choose this boutique hotel, to celebrate our wedding anniversary as well as Easter. My husband works for a major hotel chain, & honestly did not know if we were making the right decision. We wanted a smaller more intimate feel. Hotel Madera did not disappoint!! Maggie, Deja, all the employees were PHENOMENAL!! The rooms are amazing & spotless and in an amazing location!! Maggie also acknowledged our anniversary, which was very well appreciated!! I could go on & on about this hotel. Thank you, Maggie & staff for the wonderful services you provide & for the wonderful memories!!!
