I absolutely loved our stay at the Madera. The moment we walked through the door (at happy hour 5-6PM) we were offered free glasses of wine while we checked in. Can't beat that! The front desk staff was super friendly and accommodating. Upon going upstairs were very impressed by how huge the room was and excited to find a balcony. There was a large couch in the room, as well as a desk and coffee table. It was really lovely and well decorated. The bathroom was separated by a door with the toilet and shower in a very tiny room. This was the only weird part of the layout. The closet had two animal print robes which were super cute. I love a hotel robe! The only other thing the room was missing which would have been nice was a coffee/hot water maker. Temperature was a bit hard to regulate-even on it's lowest setting we still woke up sweating. The bed was comfy but the pillows were pretty flat. This hotel is directly connected to Firefly restaurant which makes an amazing cocktail. You can also swing by and grab a drink to take back to your room. Wifi worked very well here and the location is in walking distance to the metro as well as all of the tourist sites and many good bars and restaurants. In the lobby they have free wine from 5-6pm every day so don't miss that. Overall I enjoyed the stay here and would come back for sure.

Just returned from an excellent stay at this Hotel. We got a clean Hotel in a lovely location, very suitable for walking to all attractions. Staff were excellent from the start, especially Maggie. She briefed us on the area and informed us of imminent attraction closures due to covid 19. She really was extremely helpful. The hotel was also excellent value.

I stayed at Hotel Madera for roughly two weeks, and asked if I could pay to upgrade to a larger room for the second week since my partner would be joining me. I mentioned my partner and I had never stayed at a hotel together before and were quite excited, and the manager told me she would upgrade us to a king suite for free! When we arrived, the room was absolutely amazing, and the hotel had left us wine, chocolate and fruit as a surprise, as well as a very kind card wishing us a good stay. Aside from this super nice surprise, I found the hotel to be amazing in general. The rooms are lovely, beds are SO comfy, and the staff make you feel so incredibly welcome. I have recommended to my work that we always have staff stay here now as this hotel gives you way more than you pay for, and makes a trip to DC such a pleasure :)

I made a reservation online and emailed the property directly to inquire about special wines and champagne packages that can be sent to the room. To my surprise, the front office manager Maggie responded quickly with options and a price breakdown so I have a choice as to what treats I could purchase. Once we arrived, I was told that we were upgraded to a king deluxe w/balcony, which was very accomodating since it was a special day. The room was absolutely gorgeous - highly recommend it if you need a large room and a view. Maggie, the front office manager was very kind and it felt as if we were at home. Thank you again and we look forward to staying with you again :)

i'm local and just wanted to get away from home with friends for a weekend. loved the hotel. really nice. had a balcony. was great to not have to go out front to smoke. service was really quick. blankets and pillows and everything were in the room in under 15mins. had to request a microwave and the only place to plug it left it sitting on the floor but it wasnt a big deal. Manning and Maggie were great with getting anything we needed and knowing where to go for good drinks and food. made my staycation perfect.
