I’ve been staying here for years and can’t say enough about this little gem. Their continuity of excellent staff makes it feel as close to home as you will ever get in DC. From Carlos at reception to Jesus behind the bar, it’s FIVE STAR!
I had a great stay at this hotel, and the friendly staff made it unforgettable. Carlos at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful, and Erin, the sales manager, went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. I highly recommend this hotel, thanks to the amazing staff.
I stayed at the Morrison Clark Hotel for a month because I needed temporary housing. I have stayed in Hotels all over the world. The MC is a special place. It has the friendliest Staff you will ever encounter. The moment you arrive, smiling doormen greet you and continue to do so each time you leave and return to the Hotel. From the Front Desk Staff to the Servers/Bar Staff and Management, they all want to make sure your stay is wonderful and excellent. The decor reflects a Chinese flair with beautiful artwork, furniture and accents. The meals served in the Restaurant [and available at the Bar] are delicious. I'd recommend the salmon and steak and grilled veggies for sure. On the Bar Menu, there are lots of great things [try the Morrison Burger, Pizza, Calamari, O-Rings and the appetizers]. The Hotel is downtown near the Convention Center and close to all the DC Attractions that you want to see. I look forward to staying there just for fun.…
This historic boutique hotel was one of the friendliest ones I have been to in my travel experience. The front desk staff, bartender and hotel personnel went above and beyond my needs. The king Victorian room was spacious enough with very comfortable bedding and a large bathroom. The hotel addition was formerly a Chinese church and it shows the wonderful decor throughout the lobby and the sculpted facade at the main entrance. There is also a wonderful courtyard. The excellent location of this hotel to the Smithsonian, The Ford Theater and other attractions was another reason it was perfect for my getaway.
The location of the hotel is perfect, you have all the access to transport, very close to all the tourist sites, the staff is very helpful and polite. In the 5 days that we were in the hotel, the attention at the reception by Mr. "Carlos" was very attentive and kind so that the stay was very pleasant, without a doubt I would repeat the stay in this Hotel and of course I will recommend it to everyone my friends.
We got the sixth floor and the view was great! The hotel itself was within a 30m walking distance to the white house, little bit more to the national mall. We had to pay for parking daily of our vehicle, but were able to take out the car when needed. I would recommend not using a car in the city as the parking fees downtown just add up and it is easier to use transit/taxi/walking. Hotel staff were all kind, nice and treated us with respect, I have nothing but gratitude for them. Room had a television, a great desk, comfortable bed, and was one of the cleanest rooms I have ever had in staying at the hotel. I would recommend this hotel.
Clean and well-located hotel in a safe location. It wasn't far from the Green line that goes to the main destinations and museums. Excellent staff - Gadissa and Megan were very hospiitable and did a great job!
We had a terrible experience. The valet severely damaged our car and they have done nothing to repair the damage. We have been getting nothing but the round around from the hotel and their insurance carrier. Despite many calls and clear video evidence. This has been a huge disappointment and so unprofessional. I’ve never had an experience like this at a hotel before.
From front of house to back…truly a wonderful stay. Early flight into DC from DCA, took the Green Metro to near hotel. Easy walk up to near L and 10 th. Safe neighborhood and around corner from convention center . Upon entering we assumed since we got in so early that we would just let doorman store our bags and we would grab brunch nearby. To our surprise, a room was available and the front desk personnel were absolutely a pleasure. Hotel room is very spacious with a small fridge, desk, sitting chairs, safe and huge bathroom. Room cleaned daily which is not all that common anymore. We had a queen bed and the thread count and pillows were perfect. In mornings there is free coffee( no coffee maker in room) and cookies mid day. At night there is a nice quaint bar with seating for 8 or so. Never too busy but very inviting and bartender was outstanding. Courtyard is in the interior and looked very inviting but it was a bit too cool to enjoy. There are usually 2 doorman and valet to help with any request. Easy walk to anywhere in DC. Definitely will stay here again for a conference. I’ve stayed at the Marriott at Convention Center but it has an edgy business vibe. Morrison Clark is very warm and inviting. Only draw back was , one had to request an iron and ironing board but it was promptly delivered and not removed for the 3 days we were guests.…
Honestly the hotel is beautiful, the staff are AMAZING, and the location in the city isn’t too far away from things. There are 2 reasons why I removed a star, even though I would GLADLY stay here again. 1.) Parking situation - the fee was 42 a night and was valet only. You couldn’t just run out to your car if you left something on there. But they were very fast and kind. 2.) Room service food - we ordered breakfast room service. It was our anniversary so my husband thought breakfast in bed would be a good idea. The presentation was lovely. But the food was so bland that the eggs, sausage, toast, and potatoes all tasted the same. It really was lovely. Room service isn’t a big deal to me but the car was definitely an inconvenience. We would go again.
