Recently stayed here for 17 nights (yes 17) for work and spent lots of time in and around the hotel. The staff are beyond courteous and go out of their way to make guests feel like family. No request was too big or burdensome and they genuinely seemed to care for their guests. The rooms are nice and spacious and the location is extremely convenient but the people at this hotel really set it apart. Will stay here again for sure.

Booked a suite for travel with husband and daughter. I really wanted to like this place, but.. Pros: - proximity to everything - price - size Cons: -hasty, horrible “remodel” means everything was painted over terribly, which leads me to... - my daughter was literally trapped in her room. Her door and frame has been painted over in such a manner that she isn’t strong enough to open I, and I have to throw my entire body against it. HUGE fire hazard. We are leaving her door open now. - bathroom door doesn’t close. No lock even. You have to use your foot to keep the door shut. - everything is dirty and/or threadbare. From the robe(s) they provide (we only had 1 in our suite for 3 people) to the carpet that is coming up, the room looked worn, like your great-aunt’s house once she was on social security. Maybe it was once beautiful, but it really shows it’s age and disrepair. - bathroom was dirty with hair everywhere. - beds are terribly uncomfortable. - non-existent outlets for charging devices Very disappointed with our stay here. Definitely not 4-star.

Hotel Lombardy is in Foggy Bottom, and is actually an ideal & accessible location for my needs. Totally walkable, close to Metro stations, buses & taxis. The charm of the hotel is its small footprint as a venue. A tiny lobby area, mini front desk for registration, elevator for one passenger; the other for 2 people max. This smallness also translates to quite a little King Deluxe room which means the bed is King size, and the room is akin to a walk-in closet. I admit booking this hotel because they noted they have Frette linens, known for high thread count. You couldn’t ask for more when you slide into the white bed sheets & duvet. It was the only good part of this stay! However, the Frette towels in tonal shades of worn out white to the point of grey, were a complete turn off. I used them on the floor. Last thing, there were LOTS of hairs shedded in that bathroom. Why are hairs on the bathtub, floor, walls (yes! sticking on the walls!) and on the Frette towels?!! All I wanted was a clean room and especially a pristine bathroom. Here’s a pic of my charger propped to a loose outlet in the bathroom. Old hotels need more usable outlets because most of us have smartphones. Hotel Lombardy staff are invisible. One porter at the door and more often than sometimes, no porter at all! One front desk clerk and you have to wait to register & get a key, even as the porter called for her several times when I arrived @ 3PM. It’s COVid fatigue and DIY guest service for three days. Pandemic traveling is frustrating. This is my 2nd trip to DC in the last few months. My reasoning is that hotels & services should be in tip-top order because fewer people are traveling and using hotels. It’s not so. TIP: Log on to their WIFI at the front desk. Save yourself a trip because when you’re in the room, it’s impossible to connect. The front desk clerk treats you like a bumpkin & grudgingly starts a what-to-do tutorial for access. It’s the signal, nothing more.

It was so cozy and charming hotel Lombardy , room was perfectly clean, every detail of the decoration is lovely, old fashionable decor ( loved it ) . Staff were very professional and gave very good recommendations. Location is very convenient about 10 min from the White House. I’d love to come back again. My experience at the Lombardy Hotel was absolutely positive. The room was very clean, the staff really competent and the food extremely good. The Hotel is about 10 minutes away from the White House, so the position is very convenient and you are able to move around very easily.
